I really suck at the combat in this game. It just doesn't click with me. Even on easy it's just embarrassing.
-Do not parry Wildlife, instead doge/evade them and hit when openings occur. You can also hold block most of the time when fighting them. just strike when their animations are done. (You can parry them, but evading can be more easy)
-Double bladed LS is awesome in getting rid of groups of small and weak enemies. Normal LS deals more damage, but is a bit slower. If you are having trouble to sidestep, just role.
-When deflecting normal, ranged storm troopers keep the block button pressed till they stop shooting. It is possible to deflect every single shot from a burst but it is easier to just deflect the first one back and just let the rest bounce of from your block.
-You can skill auto block ranged attacks while running. Very useful to skip past melee troops and reach the range ones.
-The strong attack (Y) is your friend. It costs force, but it is able to break through most enemy defenses pretty easily. Especially the upgraded single LS version.
-Force push can also be good in breaking enemy guard. All together do not forget to use force powers whenever possible.
-Many enemies can be "body pulled" away from their groups. Just run around a corner and wait for them to come one by one.
-Rockets and grenades can be tossed back at enemies with force push.
-Look at enemy animations, they don't have many attack patterns and repeat the same 2-3 over and over again. It's sometimes best to just let an enemy attack you for a while to get a feeling for what he is doing. It's kind of a learning experience.

I mainly use "Slow" as a Taunt. Cast "Slow" on the beastie then when Slow wears off the beastie will come charging towards you but you've prepared for it. Much better than trying to work out aggro ranges.

Also, Force Push is still unbelievably fun for clearing enemies off of ledges and platforms. :evilblob:

So dynamic resolution is bugged previously, that's why I didn't notice any difference in performance/image quality. Patch is out btw.
  • We’ve fixed a texture flickering issue that would display on the screen while driving the AT-AT on Kashyyyk
  • Sometimes the input from the arrow keys would fail to respond within menus, this has now been fixed.
  • Dynamic resolution settings will now save properly.
  • Fixed an issued where the game could become slow and loading times longer than expected.
Haven't tested it, Hope I can bump it to 4K/1836p and let dynamic resolution do the work.

Finally beat the game. It took my only 22 hours, which is lower than expected as I didn't really had much trouble with the combat and puzzles.

Overall, I like it a lot, but I also agree with some of the common complaints. Animation is not up to it which unfortunately affect the flow of combat. I never had any issue with the backtracking as the shortcuts are enough to keep the traveling much shorter. Story is good, but not great. There are lots of great moments but I never feel that attached to the characters that much. It's probably because they never had enough screen time since most of my time playing the game was spent exploring the maps. If the sequel can fix some of the major problems with this game, it might become a game to be remembered. I'd love to see where the story goes from here.

Finished it this morning(17 hours played). I really love Star Wars, I like the characters, the stories, the worlds... But the combat really made this game exhausting to me. I try to be methodical, but I just don't have the reflexes or patience to "git gud" at this. I ended up cheating and even then it annoyed me because I was always on my ass it seemed.

It was great seeing Vader. I feel like the post-movie depictions of him are brilliant(Star Wars: Rebels and Rogue One especially)... He's like an unstoppable monster.

I also really enjoyed the level where you are escaping Order 66.

Also, I think this time period in Star Wars is the best - playing a hunted Jedi is so great.

What this game really did was make me want another KotOR... Or any RPG set in Star Wars really.

Aww.. of course that would come out after I've finished the game and taken over 100 screenshots. :crying-face:

That's a great addition and one that will allow folks to take some truly amazing screens. Far better than any I could have taken for sure.

I've been having great fun playing with this mod which allows custom Lightsaber colours.
Currently rocking a scheme i'm calling "Miami" - Neon Pink blade with a Cyan-ish Glow and illumination.
When i finish i'll definitely start a replay of this game soon afterwards.

There's been a photo mode since day 1. You just have to know where to look :p

I created a Discord just for taking screenshots on PC. There's a few talented modders in there, and 1 guy created a Universal Unreal Engine 4 console unlocker. And there was a console command called "togglephotomode." It was obviously still in development, but it worked.

I took these before the actual photo mode was released :p

Here's a site for cataloging all the info/tools we know of.

Cal’s journey begins with him listening to Sugaan Essena, an original song from Mongolian band The Hu. That’s not Mongolian you’re hearing though, it’s a language created with the band that’s unique to Star Wars. It’s Cal’s favorite song for ship scrapping or galactic gladiator fights, but why should he have all the fun? We recorded a special session with the band so everyone can get pumped up and feel like a Jedi.
