That form factor looks awkward af. There's no strap to hold it in place like Index, there's a dodgy grip trigger and no full, precise finger tracking, just some touch enabled inputs. Maybe it was too much to expect them to be on the cutting edge but at least they are on par with the current standard more or less and it sure beats the Move! Hell, if the rest of it is good and it's priced well, I could even get it for my PC as a way too long overdue visual resolution upgrade (as long as people get it to work 100%). Man, Oculus really nailed the design in 2016, everyone is copying their set up since then so even the old af Oculus Rift CV1 basically has all the playability developers expect and primarily develop for, 5+ years into new VR technology advancements, now likely to reach 10+ with the PSVR2.

Mike Doran - Director of Production, Oculus Studios: I’m in a uniquely blessed position to be able to work not only on some of the most premier games in the world, but also on a platform that’s pushing the envelope. The things that are coming in the next three, five, seven years are amazing, and I wish I could talk to you about them right now. And I wish I could tell you all the great partners we have signed up that are going to blow people away when we’re finally allowed to talk about them.

Smart kid, we all suck :suicide-blob:
I love this whether it becomes a real thing or not, smart shortcomings over cost (it "only" cares how far each finger opens or closes, not possible rotations, side movement, etc. - much like the actual pricy af Index)! Granted the comparison isn't fully fair, Index offers all the actual controller perks on top and thus also requires a different form factor, yet with freaking strings they got the actual advanced tech equivalent Index offers over other VR controllers with its touch/force/proximity/whatever surface sensors! With strings!

GTFO looks almost like a game made for VR now (I don't know how much of the jank is inherent to the main game which is still in early access). I don't really get all of what they're doing as I've not played it and they seem like experts. I guess it's like a much more complex & tactical UT2004 Alien Swarm. Either way, wow!
