Asagi on Steam huh. I'd buy it, zero fucks given.

Bring Koutetsu no Majo Annerose too.

It seems like Asagi will follow in the footsteps of ChuSingura, where the 1st episode is free-to-play and the rest are sold as DLC. There are already 4 episodes on the store for Asagi...
=============

Also there is this:

It says PC... No Steam page atm though, hopefully soon!

There's one thing in the Saya remaster I noticed that might be different even with the uncensored patch. Correct me if I'm wrong but wasn't there a CG image of the doctor with her arm limp from the axe while Koji was hallucinating in his ending?. Ending spoiler.
I checked and there is no CG or sprite in that scene in the original game.
She (or rather her axe-wounded corpose) is just described as sitting in his living room and chatting, but not actually shown; only Omi and Yoh have sprites, in the scene just before that.

I doubt Asagi will ever made it to Steam given the content of the VN, does Steam allows nukige stuff at all?

There's an interesting twitter thread about licensing in the VN market

It basically boils down to JP companies not always wanting to play ball unless they alrteady have a trusted business relationship and that's regardless of benefits offered because they're protective of their IPs.

I must have been on some sort of high while reading that then.

The fact that you do see Yoh and Omi and the fact that there is a CG of Ryouko getting struck by an axe makes it feel like there should be a CG in that scene. I actually started by checking a Let's Play, to see if there was a CG, and the omission felt so out-of-place that I was left wondering if that Let's Player was playing with censored CGs on or something. Because of that, I ended up checked my own copy for the CG to make sure. So I can't blame you for making that mistake.

Hope this doesn't mean censoring/content changes.

Realistically it probably does though... Does Frontwing sell their VN's anywhere but Steam?
It will that mean the game gets censored (on Steam), but FrontWing is no stranger to releasing censored games on Steam with a patch available on their own website.

EDIT: The first Loca Love game is an example of this.

What's the state of Visual Novels on Switch ? I seem to recall more and more being announced.
What is already released (and good) and what are the big announcements ?

I may or may not buy a new Switch, against my better judgement.

Well, it's still kind of small in terms of western releases. Unless you absolutely need portability, most of these titles can already be found on PC (or will be releasing soon) and will perform much better there.

New Umineko is Japan only?? Was this known?

Yes. Only the translation of Ciconia has ever been confirmed, but I wouldn't be surprised if Witchhunt will be working on Saku after they are done with Ciconia. However, considering that Witchhunt are seemingly translating in parallel with Ciconia being written, we may have to wait until after Ciconia is completely done before we get Saku.

Councillors, if you're a Trails fan, you owe it to yourself to play Utawarerumono. All three games. It's that good.

Well, to be honest, I only played the first two so far, but from what I've heard, Uta3 is basically Trails 3rd/Zero/Ao combined, in spirit.

Anyway, I wrote a little about the SRPG part of it in the RPG OT, but I'm definitely looking forward to reading Uta3 in the summer and am definitely buying a capture card so I can finally take screenshots.

Did you play the first game on PC? I don't think the Vita/PS4 remake left Japan.

... if there was a way I could easily play them on my PC, I'd love to.
Well, there are ways, sure. Although I won't call them easy, no. To play these in Japanese, getting the Japanese releases are relatively trivial. DMM sells the PC version first game. And the PS3 version of Itsuwari no Kamen and Futari no Hakuoro can be had from eBay, for example. Although loading those games into RPCS3 is kind of uncharted territory.

To play the game in English, to have the PC version of the first game with the English fan translation patch is rather difficult too since the DMM version is incompatible with the fan patch and you need to track down the DVD version, probably from Yahoo Auction JP or 3rd party Amazon JP sellers. And of course, Mask of Deception and Mask of Truth are on PS4/Vita where emulation is non-existant.

Since Prelude to the Fallen is handled by NISA, there may be a chance of that getting ported to PC, but it's still very slim.

Muv luv readers, how much time did it take for you to finish Unlimited? I'm actually clocking 7 Hours at chapter 4 (probably near the end seeing the lenght of the other chapters). Is this normal or fast??

Unlimited took me 8 hours and additional 2 hours to get every ending. For comparison, getting every ending/achivement in Extra took me just under 18 hours. I don't remember the length of the individual chapters.

Oh, OK :D

Alternative took me 28 hours to get to the end, not including achievements.

Here are the exact chapter lengths in hours and minutes, if you'd like to know:
StartEndLengthChapter
00:0000:5200:52Episode 1
00:5201:3900:47Episode 2
01:3902:0400:25Episode 3
02:0403:3901:35Episode 4
03:3905:1501:36Episode 5
05:1508:4603:31Episode 6
08:4613:0304:17Episode 7
13:0316:5703:54Episode 8
16:5725:3008:33Episode 9
25:3027:3102:01Episode 10
27:3127:5300:22Final Episode

Oh, and to answer your original question, and assuming that you are basically at the end of chapter 4, then it should take you about 56 hours in total, assuming a constant reading speed. That also seems to be the average on HLTB. Alternative is about as long as Extra + Unlimited, which might give you a better indication.

I see, extra + unlimited without every route took me 25 hours, it surprise me that at 7 hours on chapter 4 it should all amount to 56 hours, I thought I was reading fast

What routes did you skip in Extra and Unlimited? They are roughly the same length if you read every end in Extra. The ends in Unlimited don't add much to the length.

I basically did Meya, Sumika + Sensei (blush) and Meya. Rei and Sensei 2 (blush)
I'm sensing a pattern here :thinking-blob:
Anyway, if we go by that, then a rough estimate is that Alternative will take you 35-40 hours.

EDIT: My times:
#StartEndLengthChapter

I finished chapter 3 of Dangitgranpa 2. It definitely feels longer than the first one.
Enjoying it a lot though, but I hate the Hangman's Gambit minigame with a passion.

The mini-games in Danganronpa 1/2/v3 are pretty much all bad.
IMO, it would make for a much better experience if just about everything but endless debate was excised from the trials.

Thinking about it, I'd agree with this. I don't mind most of them, but whether they add anything to the game is indeed questionable.

They add playtime. Apparently, all VNs need to have at least 30 hours of 'gameplay' to be considered good.
