New week, new thread! What are you playing?
Continuing Octopath Traveler. Got all 8 travelers yesterday so I started going into optional dungeons. I remember reading some criticisms about the game in the past, and I started to understand most of them. The game insists on its identity - it is about 8 travelers dealing with their own problems. The party travels together but they never interfere one another. It generates a curious dissonance that doesn't exist in most other JRPGs because most of them utilise the power of collective, or synergy between the characters, to tell their stories.
Nevertheless, it's doing its own thing, and I repect it. I also start to see that this is going to be a long ride. I will likely play something else this week so that I can balance out the relatively slow pacing.
