Game #48 Done - Fracter - Beautiful 3D puzzle game where you bring light to a shadowy maze. The later puzzles while appearing complex can be elegantly broken down. The controller scheme could use some work though.

Game #49 Done - Assassin's Creed Odyssey - Got my monies worth out of Uplay+, did every single damn quest in the game! Thought about playing as the guy this time but his voice is completely ridiculous. The DLC is decent but not great.

Game #50 Done - Gears 5 - Runs like a dream, it almost looks too good at times. Better designed than Gears 4, that one did the Mass Effect 3 trick of recycling multiplayer areas into the single player campaign. Gamepass is great if your only interest is the campaign.

Game #51 Done - Inked - Fantastic isometric line drawn puzzle game about the author recessing into a fantasy art world to cope with the loss of his wife. Build various blocks to overcome obstacles and sometimes the controls!

9. CODE VEIN - 10/10

Souls-like with more traditional JRPG storytelling and interesting ways to create your own builds and character. If you like Souls-likes or Anime, this one's for you, do not miss it.

That's one more cleared for the year, will go back to do all achievements at some point, already started NG+ and I got the season pass.
Next up though: Disco Elysium.

There were a couple of bugs to do with ladders, the game crashed in the basement a few times but i enjoyed the puzzles, the environments, the environmental storytelling and the little thoughts that Amber would sometimes give when you show her random photos.

I got it for free from the Youtube stream video and i'm not sure i'd pay full price but i did enjoy it.

10. The Outer Worlds - 6/10

After all is said and done, the game falls flat and could have used several months in development. Glaring difficulty issues aside, the asset rehash and lack of variety the game offers just doesn't feel fulfilling on any level and teasing planets you cannot access on map screen is not okay, possibly future DLC. Even the main story quest is mostly on sidelines until the last hour of the game where it suddenly picks up but fails to leave impression.

Done with The Outer Worlds, avoid it until it comes to Steam and hopefully they've released couple of patches and DLCs to fix some of the issues it has by then.

Game #52 Done - Control - Beautiful game with unique mechanics, design and levels. The story is completely confounding at times and unless you scour every collectable it just blends into sillyness.

Game #53 Done - Moons of Madness - Combines classic Cthulhu lore and modern Sci-fi horror like Event Horizon into a fine adventure game. Great set pieces and design coupled with an interesting story make this a must play.

Game #54 Done - The Outer Worlds - It's fine but lacks the storytelling moments of a Mass Effect and the exploration of fallout/ES. I don't imagine I'll remember much about it tomorrow.

11. Death Stranding - 9½/10

Hideo Kojima redeeming himself after that disgrace of a game called MGSV. One of a type game, you either love or hate, definitely worth trying out.

One more for the year, if I can finish one more that'd be 12 and one game a month, which seems like good pace to me.

I also played it through couple of times (based on the hours) back then, felt it was about time for a replay. Manifold Garden going to EGS strengthened that feeling.

Finished Code Vein and really enjoyed it even if i had to use a Trainer later on because it's my first Souls rodeo. Taking a break before going back to my NG+ to do things i missed at the start last time. Loved the customization options and the story was interesting to me but my main love was my big hat and silvery glitter face paint. Awesome.

We Happy Few. I've just finished the latest and final DLC "We All Fall Down" and it continues the theme of dancing while the world burns. Damn, it's finally over and i still want more. I'd say to those interested to get the main game and if you like that and want more story then get "We All Fall Down". "They Came From Below" and "Lightbearer" are not really essential to the main story but are good in their own right. Each Chapter of the main game and each DLC changes the gameplay slightly which help keep it fresh, Of course Compulsion knocked it out of the park themeatically and artistically. Great work and a game i'll replay for years.

I have been on a roll in the last week or so, and I'm feeling very good about it. What I am not feeling good about is Wolfenstein: Youngblood. Grinding, bullet sponges and leveling/rpg mechanics in my shooter? No thanks. Most of it was bullshit and it barely had any of the good Wolfy reboot cutscenes to enjoy. This is definitely my low point for MachineGames. I hope Wolfenstein 3 has absolutely none of these mechanics.

12. STAR WARS Jedi: Fallen Order™ - 9½/10

Most impressive take at Souls-like, combining it with Uncharted. Lacking in little bit of polish but not to detriment the enjoyment of the game, for their first try at the genre, I have high hopes for future. A must play for all Star Wars fans and people who liked Sekiro combat, though this is fair bit easier than that.

Another one, likely the last one for this year, not sure if I'll muster up energy to play anything anymore, might pick up Gujian3 or Half Life 2 Episode 1 but uncertain.

Game #55 Done - Jedi: Fallen Order - A little unpolished in places and the combat isn't as sharp as souls games but the feel of being a Jedi is unmatched. Though why every planet has naturally occurring slippery dips is strange. Way to overuse a mechanic.

Game #56 Done - Destiny 2 Story - Finally finished all the story packs. My quest log is now packed full of weird exotic quests and pointless busy work. Looks amazing and it's always easy to find something to do but the grind!!

Game #57 Done - Sea of Solitude - Got to get my months worth of Origin Premier. In some ways a companion piece to Gris but in this case it's the main character that can't recognise the loneliness of all those around her. Looks beautiful with a small number of puzzles but this is mainly a story experience.

Game #58 Done - Naboki - Another minimalist puzzle game from the creator of games like Hook and Klocki. Think Pick-up-sticks in 3D, separate and remove blocks from the play field with familiar mechanics added as you go.

13. Half-Life 2: Episode One - 8/10

Inspired by Alyx reveal I decided to buy Episode One and Two. Guess there's not much to say about this game since almost everyone has probably played it at this point so I'm late to it. It was solid, bite-sized FPS. Doesn't reach the same heights as HL1 or HL2 but it was fun going through it.

Actually did play something to finish before end of the year.

Game #59 Done - Unravel 1 - Beautiful little puzzle platformer with an interesting story. Probably the only criticism is that it's just the same few mechanics over and over and over.

Game #60 Done - Jim is Moving Out - Play as the floating head of Jim who crashes into the walls of his flat, creating enough momentum to move his entire room at once. Cross various obstacles while trying to not destroy your furniture!

Game #61 - Unravel 2 - Changes the game completely by adding a 2nd character that can be played in coop or both at the same time. The environments are ramped up from 1 but again you use the same one or two mechanics over and over.

Game #62 - Seen - While still in early access, this is a promising combination of traditional lane runner and puzzle platformer. Interesting mechanics and story make this one to keep an eye on as it develops.

0.5 - Gold on all Distance campaign and official DLC campaign tracks. Plenty of non-campaign tracks untouched though, so not a full 1. Also, this game is awesome.

0.5 - House of the Dying Sun. Finished one run of the campaign, but the campaign is only about an hour or two since missions are over in a few minutes. It's meant to be replayed, so I need to go get a few more endings. Gameplay-wise, it's a brilliant space simcade but the one-man team really shows in content breadth.

1 - What Remains of Edith Finch. This barely counts given the length, but I did get 100% so I'm counting it to feel good about myself. Pretty compelling, some of the stories hit pretty hard.

Apex Legends absolutely consumed me this year, but I think the spell has been broken.

Game #No-Idea - Jedi Knight Fallen Order - Loved it! I can see the flaws but for me it was a welcome return to single-player Star Wars games and i loved it. I played on PC and didn't get the issues console owners suffered so that helped. 49 hours done and i have about 6 secrets, 5 chests and a plant to find but i'll definitely be replaying it again soon. It made me want to take some time to replay the other Jedi Knight games and the KotORs.

I really hope if they make another that they just tighten up the combat feel a little but keep the difficulty level differences so i can play on Content-Tourist mode still!

1. Life is Strange 2 - Favourite game of the year. DONTNOD has me for life at this point(though I still won't buy Twin Mirror on EGS).
2. Whispers of a Machine - Decent point and click adventure, with some interesting gameplay. You had a personality with 3 facets which was affected by how you played, and unlocked new abilities for you.
3. Draugen - A great "walking simulator" from the guy behind The Longest Journey/Dreamfall.
4. Divinity Original Sin 2 - I finally started and finished this! I backed it on Kickstarter but it took me forever to dive in. I liked it a lot, though I don't care about the world it is set in, which is a shame.
5. Gris - I don't play platformers, but this was too pretty to miss(and easy enough to play).
6. The Outer Worlds - Thank you Gamepass! I really enjoyed this. It was long enough to tell a story, but short enough not to wear out its welcome. Parvati is amazing.
7. Star Wars: Jedi Fallen Order - I would've loved this more if the combat had ever clicked. Thankfully I play on PC and just cheat my way to victory. I like Star Wars so it was fun to play in the world.

Game #63 done - Shadow of the Tomb Raider - More Lara, more tombs, more collectables.

Game #64 done - Typoman - Puzzle platformer where you solve anagrams to manipulate the world. Spell R A I S E to raise a platform, defeat evil with nice words... Could have been a little longer as the concept is fantastic.

Gamer #65 done - Runner 3 - Fun enough, after the story was done I wasn't even remotely tempted to go back to improve my times or try the side levels or quests.
