Grimoire, the eternally delayed RPG that would never get a discount after launch ( :D ), but recently dropped significantly in price, is now a further 50% off to commemorate the launch of version 2.0:

The dev was using his promise to never discount the game as a sales pitch. Just for the record:

I have decided it is just a nice thing to do for people who have been waiting years to play my game if I offered a 10% discount on the game during it's first week. After this ends, I want to assure anyone waiting for the game that Grimoire will never, ever sell at a discount at any time it is on the Steam store ever again. I won't permit it to be sold below it's retail value for any reason. I am too proud of my finished product to permit it to be turned into simply another commodity in a Steam sale. If Valve ever decides that sales of the product no longer justify it having a page then I will move it to another venue - but as the author I will never offer my game at a discount again anywhere. I'm not a corporation that turns out games like sausages and computes their price curves over rates of decay in market value. Grimoire is my unique and proprietary product and I only want to sell it to the most hardcore fans of the genre. I was never targeting the mass market or casual gamers. It is in the first paragraph of the original design document I wrote more than 20 years ago when I was putting a proposal together that described the entire game end-to-end in both story, design and implementation. It was an aristocrat's manifesto when it was written and the language was specifically that of an aristocrat declaring the game was not going to be designed to appeal to the masses. Only fans of the genre.
Grimoire : Heralds of the Winged Exemplar :: Grimoire Opening Discount of 10%

The current discount will run until August 12th. After that it is likely Grimoire will not change in price again for many years. I hope the biggest fans of the game got the discount price at launch.

Finished Misao.
I like those short little RPG Maker horror games. They're short and weird and not amazingly scary, but still unsettling and creepy and weird.
Has a good number of interesting collectibles too. And with that I mean dozens of creative ways to die.

Might play Mad Father next, or tomorrow. And I'm thinking of grabbing Romancing SaGa 2 finally.
I just saw that GMG has it at -32% and with the extra -15% VIP coupon it comes down to 14,34€.

so I just played about 20mins of The Vagrant, which is on sale for $1.59 / 1.59€, I got it because it looked cool in the pictures and it was cheap enough to take a leap of faith.

Let's get the obvious out of the way right off the bat, the protagonist couldnt be more animu waifu if she tried. Shes basically naked, so surely this is trash bundle fodder right? I expected a simple 2d action game, I did not expect a fully fledged 2d action rpg with great vanillaware style art, npcs to talk to, stores to buy stuff, gear (enchantable gear even apparently), magic skills, a talent tree with various stat passives, cooking system with various food buffs to get and new moves to learn... what's going on here, at first glance this looks like a $15-20 "normal" indie game that given the subject matter would even had made some waves (*cought*ifitwasonswitch*cough*), I keep looking for "the catch" and I can't find one. Oh wait, it must be like 2 hours long right?

welp, that's not it! So unless the game is straight up broken and deletes your save or something, which given the very positive reviews on steam is probably not a thing, again I dont get it, The gameplay seems fine from what I played, if a little loose (also the lady's dash attack makes her cross the entire screen which messes with my positioning) and enemies dont block your path so you can pass through sprites which again makes adjusting for attack postioning weird, but those are small things in a otherwise enjoyable game (again, from the 20 or so minutes I played).

I'm struggling to wrap my head around the game's low base price (and in this case, sale price). But hey, one fiddy for a vanillaware-style 2d action game is not shabby at all especially since those dont usually land on PC.

I've talked good things about The Vagrant way back during the summer sale, you're way late Rhaknar

In the spirit of "I'm totally not going to buy anything except short indie games because I have so much to play already":

(Extra 15% makes them 14,34€ and 8,03€ respectively) ...Still haven't clicked that buy button though, but I very much want to.

I did see someone recommending this on Era but the main character art made me avoid it. Guess I will take a chance - not really a big risk at this price, but if my Discovery Queue starts filling up with Anime waifus, I know who to blame.

Just finished my annual replay of the Jazz Jackrabbit christmas episodes. Had to use the GOG versions, since they aren't on Steam. Man, I'd kill for a new game. Someone please give me a name and I'll kill them for a sequel, no questions asked.

Bought a lot of trash today. I hope no one judges me for that. I promise I don't plan on ever playing this stuff.

I seriously don't know why I chose to purchase so much crap instead of using my money to get better games, but whatever.
