Oh boy. The Steam Controller is 5 bucks and you can order a bunch at a time. This is the first time it's been on sale in a year. This may be the beginning of the end, or the beginning of the beginning. Hoping for a V2.

I was transitioning to a comfy couch setup, so I really wanted to like the Steam controller. But it's just such a pain having to adjust the controller settings for every single game you play. And while I think it works fine with shooters once it's set up correctly, it's a thumb killer for management games. I had to eventually switch back to comfy couch kb/m. I guess it's worth giving a shot at 5 bucks though.

On Tuesday November 26 we’re removing Magic Duels: Origins from online storefronts and ending continued support for the game. At that time we’re removing the in-game store and all purchasing functions. Players who still have these games will be able to play multiplayer matches and have access to all single player content as well as all available cards. Multiplayer matchmaking will continue as normal.

My recommendation for this sale is the Trine series

Great co-op games with some nice platforming, puzzles, music and visuals. Trine 4 itself is a great return to form and one of my goty contenders.

Frozenbyte also have more bundles of their games for those interested

Also consider this chap's games please

Thinking about getting Ion Fury and Amid Evil. Really like those types of games.
Ion Fury kinda limps in the end,.but it's a lot of fun, even with the problematic bits and dev comments from earlier in the year. But ive yet to try the others.
dammit i missed out on the controller. Who's holding? C'mon, whats a council member gotta do?

Also, GOTY is Pathologic2, I won't hear otherwise

Facebook is going to kill modding. Yeah. This is bad.

What does this mean for the modding community?
We understand and appreciate the value that modding brings to Beat Saber when done so legally and within our policies. We’re going to do our best to preserve the value that mods bring to the Beat Saber player base. As a reminder, our most recent policy updates give more clarity to how developer mode is intended to be used, such as helping developers build their apps or for enthusiasts to explore new concepts. It is not intended for engaging in piracy or illicit modding, including mods that infringe on third-party IP rights or contain malicious code.

Oh man, "illicit modding" is like the entire fucking appeal of Beat Saber

It's the very reason it'll be the first game i pick up the moment i have a VR device

Probably a new revision is in the works. Doubt it's the end for it.
Wonder what they'll change/add. A D-Pad would be sweet. Maybe even a splitable one.
Huh, I actually thought it had already been silently discontinued. I just replaced mine with an Xbox One controller but I looked around just for the hell of it and it doesn't seem to be in stock anywhere in Canada. I could only find it from like Amazon Marketplace sellers and for completely ludicrous prices. Like, over 100$ even used.

Really hope they're not just giving up, though. I've been anticipating that revision they mentioned years ago. I'd love another model with a proper dpad and better build quality. Right trackpad worked fine for most uses but god DAMN the left one was the worst dpad I've ever used.

why is koei tecmo so stingy with their sales
I really wish I knew. They have so many games I want to play that just look kind of okay, so you wait for a good sale and it just never comes. The shitty discounts on the Atelier series in particular are fucking killing me. Like, it's been what, 2-3 years since they started porting them? And there's already like 10 fucking games on Steam. You'd think Atelier Firis, the second one they released, would drop to like 15 bucks or so by now but nah.

Compare this to Compile Heart. I played the first Neptunia game on Vita years ago and it was only kind of okay. But I own every single game in the series at this point because they get so fucking cheap that I just end up buying them all anyway.

Goddammit Facebook. I own a Rift, but would rather buy my VR games on Steam as buying them on Oculus Store means Im locked to the Oculus ecosystem, which I don't want.

The Steam controller is my favorite (modern; post-analog stick) controller by far.

I hope they re-visit their play in the living room hardware initiative with a new controller iteration and an updated Steam Link.

For that price (even with shipping) I bought 2 controllers. Are they tied to my account or can I gift one to my friend? Haha maybe a stupid question, but you never know :D

You can totally bet that there will be soon a V2, announcement sooner rather than later.

You can totally gift it to any friend you want, hardware is not linked to any account ^^

I think I have a contender for oldest store page for an unreleased game?

It's been pushed back again to Q1 next year, but dear lord I remember demoing this at an expo back in 2014!
I have a copy of the beta (which I got by pre-ordering the game) since March 2015. :p

Even then, the game was a nice step up from the first game.
Despite reading his updates, I'm really not sure why the game is taking so long.

Ok Meta!
Thinking of buying one big game this time, help me decide!. I can dedicate only so much money on one (or maybe two) games.
Prices are regional and my budget is around Rs. 2000.
  • Devil May Cry 5 Deluxe - Rs. 2244 (-56%) (Nostalgia for older DMCs)
  • Ace Combat 7 Deluxe - Rs. 1749 (-50%) (Played AC04, enjoyed it a lot)
  • Resident Evil 7 + Season Pass - Rs. 1499 (-50%)
  • Resident Evil 2 Deluxe - Rs. 1749 (-50%) (I couldn't play RE1 HD, so I wanted something a bit more modern)
  • Zone of the Enders 2 HD - Rs. 756 (-60%) (I really wanted to play this because mech and Kojima)
  • Evil Within 2 - Rs. 749 (-75%) (NitroRad was very positive about it)
  • Tekken 7 - Rs. 830 (-70%) (Not much into fighting games, tempted by discount)
  • Hat in Time Ultimate Edition - Rs. 612 (-65%)
Among the smaller games, there are many but the few that I see are
  • Hellblade - Rs. 247
  • Catherine Classic - Rs. 332
  • Killer 7 - Rs. 329
  • The MISSING: J.J. Macfield and the Island of Memories - Rs. 454
  • Katamari Damacy REROLL - Rs. 349
  • Just Shapes & Beats - Rs. 395
  • GRIS - Rs. 244
  • Subnautica - Rs. 398
  • Everything - Rs. 81
  • BallisticNG - Rs. 239
  • Wandersong - Rs. 282
  • Wargame: Red Dragon - Rs. 219

If you aren't into fighters, take Tekken off the list. Other than the maybe one hour long story mode, there is nothing in there for casuals. Heck, not even a tutorial or any help for learning the game.

Of your list, I'd go with one of the Resident Evils. If you like that series, those are two of the best IMO. RE7 scared the shit out of me when playing it and RE2 definitely raised my heart rate a few times, though it's obviously more actiony.
