Yeah, although the "news in tech" aspect is a lot less exciting these days (and with PS4/XB1 already) than it used to be in the PS3/PS2 days. Those were wild machines.
We're never getting anything like PS2 on launch, tech-wise, right?

Can we postpone the sale by a few weeks?

My monitor is giving up (again) and I might just need to put any funds I have left for a new one. :loudly-crying-face:

Also, list warz feat Metacritic.
Because the billions of marketing from Sony totally did not affect scores against a dev like inXile.

I'm sorry, someone on the other forum said that with funds Obsidian will be able to reach the greatness of Bethesda. I, uh, I'll go to check my blood pressure.
Why do you care what people at the other forum said? Most of the time when I went there, it felt like most posts are baiting for replies or concern trolling, and it got tiring after a while. I don't see any reason on bringing their opinions here.

Well that's the only way we can ever get the Crossbell arc officially localized, but I still wouldn't bet on NISA to actually translate those two games.
I can see NISA translating these games, but only after a year or two of their JP release

I honestly thought we'd get Calvard after Cold Steel, granted I haven't played the 3rd game and 4th game yet. "Different playable routes at will" makes me slightly worried tho
What I understand is the next Kiseki will be a TitS the 3rd situation - not the start of a new Arc but rather smaller stories following side characters of the Cold Steel games.

I'm just a bit surprised. Enthusiast forums have always prefered Obsidian to Bethesda. Bethesda's RP systems in F4 were the butt of the jokes since the game came out and basically everyone I know considers New Vegas to be a true successor to original games.

Not even sure about that, especially with CS4 coming down the pipeline, YS IX up for the taking and now this new Trails game coming next summer. NISA could always outsource all the TL/editing work for Crossbell, but it's just as probable that Falcom finds another publisher to localize them.

You're definitely right about the year or two, but even that's being generous though lol.

I WOULD'VE gone about idling for more cards but...
1- Among the games to idle is SaGA SG, and I plan to start that soon so I don't want to mess up my play time
2- I am not in the mood atm, and have exams soon so I am playing games sparsly inbetween my slacking off from work+revision

Has the Pit Infinity for $4 if you can grab it soon.

I would never say Bethesda is a better developer than Obsidian and Bethesda has been trending downward for years. However, in general I have more fun with your average Bethesda games than your average Obsidian games. New Vegas is my favorite of all them but I consider that a joint venture as it using the core FO3 engine/ gameplay. The writing is 100x better in Obsidian games.. I dont argue one way or the other though as people enjoy different things. I think Crackdown 3 is severely underrated for example as the game is a lot of fun and thats why I personally play games.

I didn't like Last Jedi much, but I really respect Rian for trying to do something new, giving SW a new direction. He was not fit for SW, but he is a great director and writer. His latest movie, Knives Out (a murder mystery) is apparently a fantastic movie.
I would turn this around: The fanbase wasn't fit for a great and talented director giving Star Wars a new and interesting spin.
Whatever flaws his movies has, and they mostly resolve around pacing, the overreaction has little to do them with.

About this Obsidian thing, I dunno. I respect Obsidian but the only game of theirs that I managed to play for more than an hour was the South Park one, while I had a blast with Fallout 4 earlier this year and hundreds of hours with TESV since its release. Still, preferences and all that, and you won't see me defending Todd's honor anytime soon.

Yeah, SW didn't deserve Rian.

Which makes me laugh every time someone wishes Villenueve to make a SW movie. Villenueve is way too talented to waste his time on SW.

Obsidian will always be my hero for Fallout New Vegas.

Bethesda will always be my hero for Morrowind.

I'm in on both but please don't try to force feed me FTP and poorly conceived MMOs beth.

I'm gonna get shit for this but my favorite Star Wars thing is STILL the New Jedi Order line of books. My choice to keep my personal cannon to the best parts of the old EU has been excellent for my personal enjoyment of forum going the past five years.

The crying about the long, wide angle and landscape transition shots putting people to sleep would be the best thing.

I loved those shots, but those are pretty much only in BR2049, not his other movies and they were also in the first BR.

I remember a few in arrival and a decent amount in Sicaro. Not to the extent of BR2049 though.
Both Sicario and BR2049 had Deakins as cinematorapher, so many of the wide shots is Deakins work,

Also, Deakins won Oscar for BR2049 for cinematography.

I didn't remember that BR2049 won for that. Deserved, I just saw it a couple of weeks ago for the 3rd time.

Toss in Deakins too lol.

Over under on a JJ reboot of the terminator?

They don't want to pay the engine license's fees. That is sadly very common with Japanese developers, it's been a hot topic in fighting games for a long time.
Is it? The only reason that I can see this been an issue in fighting games is because of netcode? Isn't that the biggest issues that they have?

I guess it would be written somewhere, but the Steam awards must have some rules that no game can be nominated in more than 1 category, right?
At least I think I haven't seen that even once and that seems like too much of a coincidence.

If so, I approve of that rule, and I wonder how they process the nominations to make it work.

I highly doubt it.
The sum total investment in a hardware+software platform to actually make a modern viable system is far too high to stray from the norm to that extent. (Really, it might have been too much already in the PS3 gen)

I enjoy console launches just for the news in tech, all those people who are emotionaly involved in brand wars are just sad to me, I've witness pretty much all the generations transitions, back in the day console wars was a somewhat fun market ploy and everybody I knew talked shit between us as a gag, the end of the day we would play games on any console, I had Sega and my friend had Nintendo, so we and all our friends used to get togheter one day in my house to play Master System/Mega Drive and the next day we were on his house playing NES/SNES, we used to rent games for each other to play togheter, everything was in fun and jest. After Xbox360 and the advent of the internet, Console discourse became something else, was unberable, and I was glad I noped out of consoles when the Dreamcast died.

Todays culture where people self indentify with brands shit got out of hand, and common sense became offensive to some.
I blame twitter

Was the PS4 game Erica good?

Well I mean there is a good modding community that supported that game.

X going to give it to you.

Out of those games I vote Sekiro.

And ya I have no idea how The Last Jedi would ruin someones life (other than if you were an actor).

I actually like Rouge One since it felt different and the ending was a nice change of pace.

As for the Solo movie I didn't even bother watching the full thing. I think Ford is cool, but I am not really that big of a fan of Han. I only watched maybe up until the part where Han meets Chewbaca for the first time and then just stopped watching after that.

I did watch most of the CGI Clone Wars series, It was good but after I while I just stopped watching it, I even watched that movie in theaters.

I wish Gendy would make more Star Wars stuff but that will likely never happen sadly.

I don't really get what the gloom is around the new movies. I only saw all the new star wars movies this past year and was expecting them to be completely terrible and had zero confidence in disney. So coming off the prequel trilogy that was unwatchably bad, and George Lucas seeming to basically have no idea what to do with the franchise I was glad that disney ended up at least doing something with them.

So I was astonished that I actually really enjoyed all of them. I've got nothing to grumble about with it. I thought they were fun adventures and that's all I really expect out of star wars anyway. Really looking forward to seeing Rise of Skywalker regardless of silly plot twists.

Like where are these star wars movies with the amazing writing and pacing and stuff that we're comparing these to? Aren't they just adventure movies with a focus on visuals and effects? I've honestly never understood what it is people believe star wars is supposed to be like.

Out of the Steam GOTY list i've only played Fallen Order so it'd have to be that one.
I thought the last SW film i watched was Rogue One but it turns out i did see TFA but forgot about it.
I picked up SW Rebels Series 1 & 2 and enjoyed them.

The original trilogy are still my favourites.

I should have explained myself better, the issue in fighting games is about the license's fees for external netcode systems like GGPO... It's like you say :)

In other genres the stubbornness of developing in-house engines has been more obvious and offered worse results.

What I do know is that people have expected at least a stable vision of what each film should be doing and they haven't gotten that this time around. They also expected their Childhood back lol and or a modernization of the film franchise.

To be fair, I'm not a good judge of what 'quality' star wars film is, simply because over the past 18 years (I'm 31 so I started early) I've read a majority of the EU novels and all of the novel forms of the films, so Star Wars to me is equally a book series as it is a Film series. Hence I watch ROTS and I'm thinking about the Novelization of the book, or I look at Kylo Ren and I'm thinking about Dark Side Jacen solo.

It’s nice they’re porting those, hopefully they get a loc, not gonna play them otherwise as I cba to mess around with patches
If you like the Trails games, you really should play at least the upcoming Geofront release of Zero. Zero is by far my favorite Kiseki game.

Awww.

Got my first new partey member, Ogniana the Bandit Princess, :blob_hype:
I'm also flipping weapons around for fun (and to learn some techs and hope I unlock a new role or 2).
After I've read the tips section about stats and weapons and now know what actually makes some sort of sense for whom, heh.

My archer now also ranked up his Shadow Weave skill (first skill of anyone actually aside from the mage!), which means it now costs less to fail at paralyzing a foe, what bliss! (not entirely serious)

I've also defeated some monsters in some jungles and now bees are making their merry ways between those two locations on the worldmap.

Jkm23 yeah I think I can see that. I forget that there's like four decades of star wars out there. I've only seen the movies and played a bunch of the games. I don't think I can go "what's the big deal!?" to people who are dressing up as a stormtrooper at the convention center.

That's not how you spell KotOR.

edit:
Tie Fighter is fantastic. Need to replay it.
Dark Forces still keeps me entertained for an afternoon every year.
Jedi Knight games are great but screw the jumping puzzles. Played them a year or so ago.
KotOR & KotOR are my gold standard though. I need to replay them again.

Is Knights of the Republic still running? Some of the Class stories are supposed to be great.

Why EA didn't make a Star Wars game in the Mass Effect engine i'll never know. Well, SP games were dead obviously but i would have loved an MESW game. Still would.

Or OG Star Wars Battlefront.

By the way I wish that the the Jedi game had Steam cloud support..... beep I may have just erased all of my saved data for that game... I really hope that is not what happened because if it is, then I am never finishing that game.
