The thing I absolutely hated in Last of Us, was that it had sudden and hidden levels transfers and a game with collectibles that shit should be forbidden! Let me collect my collectibles in peace dammit. It's like having a game with a point of no return but doesn't tell you, and that point is often.XD
I watched them for the Story. And they have a good story. Don't care about gunplay or climbing, though.
If they had Factorio or Aurora 4X gameplay, I would play the shit out of them.
So simply put, they are not games for you, no need to shit all over them anyway.
Meh. I didn't shit over them. At least, "boring-ass gameplay" with "good story" isn't shitting on it, in my book. Not every critique of a certain aspect of a game is an attack of the enjoyment that you and others have with the game.
Seriously, all the shitting on TLOU here is really not a good look. Yikes. Maybe it's possible that a console-only studio actually put out a really good game?

Or maybe some people here do not care about "prestige driven third person OTS cinematic story action games"? Most of these discussions are console war ammunition, no need to have them here.
One can like a game and still shit on it, I shit on Last of Us a lot but it was still in my top 5 GOTY list that year.
Bloodborne is so good even when it runs like shit on PS4 that a proper version of the game would get me to buy a PS5 to play it with 60FPS/fixed frame pacing no question.

The last of us is a very average game. It has a very average story that you have seen everywhere before, on par with your direct to dvd zombie movie. The gameplay is serviceable at best, there's nothing good or special about it, but it does the work i guess and it's a bit better than the shit gameplay in uncharted games so there's that!

When we where in the slow time of mid December, the updates defaulted to chronological since there were so few.

Let them believe that, and enjoy those games.
Personally, I never connected with Sony's brand of games (I owned a PS 2 and PS 3 briefly, to play... SEGA games
), but people seem to enjoy them. So, let them.Let them play what they like, and we'll play what each of us likes.
We all have different tastes.
For example, despite a lot of "worse game of the year" awards, and people telling me the game is a pile of $"#&, I rather enjoyed, without any problem in admitting so, Vampire Rain, for the Xbox 360.
I hate the section in general!

nah, i don't hate it ... it's good even ...
i just wish there was a way to make it chronological
or even better - i wish all of those announcements would appear as notifications ... instead of me having to be there at the exact moment they're posted to see the damn notification
i guess the insane hype is definitely part of it .... as i didnt reall click with most of the Sony megascloosies ... i guess the hype got to such a point that i was ultimately dissapointed by them even though i would rate them around above 7/10 anyway, just not 10/10.
But i am also generally not fond of "cinematitis" and hate camera control on gamepad.
That is the problem of the change with notifications they did, now there is no queue so if you miss it, sorry!
I dont know if I would like it for that section but in general it was a miss the change.

no, no ... that's not a change - it's always been like that .... they only ever show up chronologically in your activity feed (along with all the other crap that's in there) ... they never were generating any actual notifications (other than the one popping up at the moment they're posted, for like 2 seconds)

There's also the possibility that different people like different things. Yeah, I know it sounds crazy.
I played all the Uncharteds and TLOU (even bought it again for PS4, but couldn't bring myself to play a lot of it again). It didn't click with me. And you know what? That's OK! We can't all love the same things because we aren't all the same person. So for you TLOU might be awesome, then for someone else it might be boring. There's no need to search for console warring stuff in that.
I'll never get over how Sawano just fucking killed it on this OST. Pound for pound, it's probably one of the most sleeper OSTs of any JRPG out there. His music just matched the tone of the game so perfectly, that it's hard to see anyone but him composing a sequel to X. Takahashi was always really good at getting composers that matched the tone of his games (Yuki Kajiura not composing more games is a damn shame after her outstanding work on XS3) and Sawano was definitely no exception.
I'm not really as interested in XB1 remake as the next person, especially not enough to replay an entire 80+ average JRPG, but if they remaster the OST I'm definitely gonna cop that at the least.

Seriously guys, you don't need to defend the honor of a critically acclaimed Multi-Million seller. Someone saying that they don't like (parts) of a game in a general gaming thread is not pitchfork-worthy.

I would LOVE a Switch port of XCX! I hooked up an external HD to my WiiU for it and a version without disk access times would be amazing.
I still think it's one of the few open world games to get it right for me
Though i need a custom soundtrack player for when you're in the mech even if you can only choose tracks from the OST. I unironically love XCX OST even Black Tar.

Black Tar is good to listen to, gets you pumped for the battle. When I heard "Uncontrollable" when (stumbling) into the first Tyrant, I had goosebumps. The city themes are also unique and getting you invested in the setting.
I'm the first pained by the fact I don't really give a fuck about TLOU, Uncharted, Naughty Dogs or Sony anymore.
Those type of game were my jam, but the interest just faded. Last nail in the coffin was Uncharted 4, I couldn't finish it for the life of me.

Normally I hate wireless but it seems both mny controller hates USB cables as they disconnect. This causes MH to tank hard FPS wise.

I find the USB ports in most controllers are pretty fragile. One pull in the wrong direction and the cable now sits loose and disconnects all the time.
I loved XCX. I know a lot of the Xenoblade faithful hated it but it really worked for me in all the right ways. I have been hoping for a Switch port for awhile now but it's not looking good. Best case scenario would be announcing a sequel and then shadow dropping a port. Well, actual best best case scenario would be a Steam version but I think the odds might be a little lower on that one.
im going to give RDR2 another try and see if it clicks better this time around. I made it to chapter three then lost interest so im going to start over since its been a year and need to remember all the mechanics and what not.

Man, the Crossbell duology is up there with the Trails in the Sky games, it's that good. I hope it gets an official release in the west one day.
It's a shame that the Cold Steel saga, which is by far the longest, is such a step down in terms of writing. I hope the next arc goes back to the quality of the previous games.

I have TLOU but have not really played it, I will give it a go some day.
I want to get the N/S port of XBC1 but I don't want to restart my save. The only reason I didn't finish the 3DS version was because I wanted to do all of the quest and rebuild a certain something.

The upcoming Crossbell Kai remasters were 100% made with the west in mind and I'll be shocked if they dont get localized.
I ain't as big a Sky fan as I am of CS (I do love all the games, but replaying SC made me realize how it's the most flawed game in the modern series), but I'm looking forward to Crossbell all the same.
When I finally have time for it anyway. NISA will probably have some good announcements next week for Falcom fans.
The remasters do give me a bit of hope, but localizing these games is a tremendous endeavour. NISA will probably have to bite the bullet to stay in Falcom's good graces, otherwise I doubt they'd touch them.

On the list of annoyances which Valve won't fix, I will add this: the system to send trade offers does not scale. It is so hard to browse a big inventory, and it is even harder to send a trade offer to someone with 200k items.
