I have run some code to check whether games have a proper vertical banner in the library, and unless I have made a mistake, ~42% of Steam games have one.

It is not too bad given that it requires additional work from devs, but it is not great either.
yeah ... tell me about it ...

Arrrgh! I thought I had finally finished a run of FTL...

I destroyed the final ship only to find out that you have to destroy it a second time and i got blown up. Bah.
Any time I've ever been able to do anything good in that game, it has always been an accident.

I just took a chance on Dragon Quest Builders 2, but had to refund it after 15 minutes. The user reviews are "very positive", but the PC port seems to be in shambles. The game is internally rendered in very low resolutions, I never got it to render in more than 720p, but some people on the Steam forums are claiming that it can run in 1080p. It is not possible to do better than that, no working hacks at the moment. No ultrawide support either.

I was able to play the game at 1440p, but as for native rendering resolution I think 1080p was the max? Seeing how that was all that the PS4 Pro can do for the game.

The port does have some issues but the game itself is fun. I actually just finished it the other day. I ended up playing it using a DS4 controller though

I normally hate kickstarters but just mentioning this one because it's by one of my favorite devs (It's also already funded)
They're remaking the first Geneforge (There's 5 games total in that series)

Here's the original one for purchase on steam

Here's the kickstarter link:

Shit, I totally forgot that I was meaning to post this lol. I love Spiderweb and Jeff. I'm tempted to get the $75 tier because I have some err.... "software sins" that need absolving.

By the by if you don't know who Jeff and Spiderweb are I highly recommend these!

Deques Nice!

Have some nosta-llama-gia:

G-Force for Winamp:
(I'm sure there's probably a newer one somewhere but i'm at work)

MilkDrop for Winamp:

These visualizers are STILL SEARED into my eyeballs from decades ago. lol, i'm old!
Still using Winamp to this day. No reason to give it up. Never encountered an audio file it won't play, and I've managed to accrue over 30GB in music since the time I was a kiddo and transfer it from PC to PC over the years including my playlists!

Like Firefox, I don't think I'll ever give it up until it's truly truly broken. But well, the big difference of course is that at least Firefox still gets actively updated. :(

I wish I was like this, I'm always jumping around to the new "thing" when it comes to software, you would be shocked at how many Linux distros I go through a year lol. Though my browser and audio player has been pretty set in stone for the past couple of years (at least on W10); Waterfox for my browser and Dopamine (highly recommended) for my audio player. If you want a similar alternative to Winamp that still gets updated AIMP is probably the closest.

It's kinda sad the treatment LBP got from Sony. They just left it in the dust after the first 2 games and then made a cheaper 3rd game for PS3 back when it was already a dead platform, and didnt continue pushing an IP that would be a core identity of Sony. Sony treatment of their IPs in general tends to suck major balls, as they just leave them to die.

But interested on how the original game they are working on will be. The "parkitekt" example really hypes me up.

Stoneshard demo was super nice ! Until it wasn't anymore.
I hate to join the constant whining of bu-bu-bu my saves, but I'm not convinced that having hard bosses sits right in a rogue-like with minimal save system. I mean, it's a rogue-like, you die, well you die. It's business as usual. But having been rolled over by the boss and thinking I had multiple levels of dungeons to replay just to get another shot at him wasn't very enticing a prospect.

Since then I checked some tips and have now a better understanding of what to do then and what the EA includes. It's a little light on content but I can't say I'm still not tempted on the pixel art and gritty middle age setting alone.

Received my backer key the other day for this, but it's now up on Steam. I probably wont get to play it til Saturday afternoon(I'm a florist and it's Valentine's week so I'm too tired to do more than stare at a screen dumbly when I get home). Anyway, it looks great.

Ooof, one of my friends was a florist, Valentines week is rough, rip. I really want to play LUNA because it's gorgeous, but I'm really picky about point and click adventures - I bounce off most I play.

This is super-nice to see.

Isn't Geneforge Spiderweb's most popular "back catalog" series?

I love this dev's story. How they just keep trucking along as a tiny garage-dev, even decades later. Releasing humble, yet deep & charming productions.

Their latest, Queen's Wish is really good.

Any idea when Wolcen goes 1.0 ? With Steam refreshes I suppose ?
Oh and nobody tried Darksburg ? User review is not very pretty, but I didn't look too much into it.

Valve has added Oculus Quest icons in SteamVR. Great stuff, means Valve is building a road for even better Quest compabilities.

Oculus Quest/Link: Exists. SteamVR/Valve: Another group of customer, let's add support for them.
Non-Oculus headsets: Exists. Oculus Client: Go fuck yourselves.

Capcom is updating all their remaining games without new library assets just right now. CAPCOM ON FIRE :cat-heart-blob:
Still no Dead Rising 3, 4, REmake or Ace Attorney. They rather update fockin Devil May Cry 3 SE and Operation Raccoon City.

Yesterday I tried out Shenzen I/O a bit (I didn't print the manual as recommended but just openend it on my second monitor).
I quite like it! Only did the first 2 tasks so far tho.
So far it has been a loop of "I can do this -> it works -> I'm proud -> The friendslist comparison is brought up -> Durante and Exzyleph did it with less code -> I feel stupid"

Also the "Solitaire" is ...interesting. Also hard. But I'm getting used to it, and won a round.

I had a peek at task 3 and it looks like I suddenly get access to everything. Guess I'll have to look at the manual more after all!

It also reminded me that I need to play Infinifactory again :D

Played some Okami. as well The port is weird. I have a 1440p monitor but that resolution is not available in Borderless Windowed, only Fullscreen (and only if you restart after switching to Fullscreen). It also lets me select 144Hz in the menu but still only runs at 30 (that was rough for a few minutes until I got "used" to it again).
That intro is long as hell.
I liked what I played so far though.
