Isn't the lead dude a POS?
He's a complete and utter shitlord. Unfortunate, because I really kind of want one of those Displate's, being the reformed seaman I am and all that - it would be a fun bit of art. I can always just get it printed locally, I know others have gotten NFO's printed as posters.

Makes me happy seeing Shenmue 3 bomb, I'm petty like that and I'm a huge shenmue fan!
I wouldn't say I'm "happy" it bombed (we still don't actually know the extent of how well it did, the article from earlier is from an analyst that doesn't have all of the hard data available - it's probably in the ballpark though), but I'm not exactly pouring one out for it either. They treated their backers pretty shittily which is a cardinal sin for me personally when it comes to such things so while I'm not happy, I do consider it to be a little bit of cosmic justice. Still would've preferred it do gangbusters while not screwing over backers and customers though.

I felt a spark of joy while reading this as well. Deep Silver really betrayed Shenmue 3's backers by selling them to Epic. In combination with pulling Metro Exodus from Steam right before release AND telling GI.biz that they believe these actions are perfectly fine and they would do them again in the future, gives them a well deserved spot on top of my blacklist. F*ck deep Silver, really.

Hoping Sakura Wars comes to PC. But honestly I'm not sure. SEGA is kinda weird about how they handle this stuff, like despite now owning Atlus they can't seem to materialize the ports? And when they do come, we get the old depreciated versions like regular Catherine when Full Body exists.

Lewd news of the day.

I appreciate you posting this. Never woulda known otherwise. 👍

Fortunately Sakura Wars isn't an Atlus game, that makes it way more easier to appear on PC in the next few months/1 Year. in fact, I wouldn't be surprised if it happened like VC4 and the PC version gets stealth announced a bit later alongside a few other ports a la "the best of japan v.2"

Well it would have sold 50k +1 at least.
Almost certainly but I highly doubt it would've done a huge amount. Shenmue is just not a blockbuster franchise, it was always going to struggle to catch on with people not already invested which itself is a niche of a niche.
The game would probably sell more, but if the game is bad from start then it is still bad

Speaking of SEGA, where is the Judgment port? I was sure it would be out fairly quickly after how Kiwami 2 went, but it's MIA.
132 days left to end the "exclusivity" year. And this is why I think there will be a second "the best of japan" video, they will probably do a reel and release some games at a regular basis, so they can cover most of the year (probably like 5 games in 2020 and thats a lot)

We will see, I can see Yakuza games, Judgement, Sakura Wars and Persona 5 vanilla announced for 2020-q1 2021
Still no Dead Rising 3, 4, REmake or Ace Attorney. They rather update fockin Devil May Cry 3 SE and Operation Raccoon City.
That's correct, but they have just released even more today, check them out :D

Tried the West of Dead beta. The stylish western twin stick shooter announced a while back (wasn't it during an Xbox show ?)
It's a rogue-lite, meh.
First contact is not good, but once you get accustomed to the way the game plays, it's ok.
Not really interested but it's a start I guess.

I wonder if trying VR with a 970 would be a good idea or a terrible mistake.

And it's alive!

All via that site I told you I found the other day with a dude posting about flight/space/cockpit/mech everything and also doing his own project.

Reminder that Shenmue 3 PC backers still haven't got their physical disc. Yes that physical disc with EGS code on paper.
At this point it wouldn't surprise me if they're just waiting for the Steam version to release so they can row back on the whole EGS bullshit.

But knowing Deep Silver/YsNet, the Steam version will release and they will still send backers an EGS coaster.

When did Supraland release its demo?
lol that thread from this tweet is fascinating 😂
lol, yeah. Video games are hard, no one knows anything which is kind of fun in its own terrifying way. I'm still very much an advocate for demo's though but I know from dev friends that they can be a lot of work for not always much benefit.

On the other hand thanks for bringing this game to my attention, hadn't heard of it before but it's right up my alley!

I always find it fascinating, that you often see complaints about the Steam algorithms when they see a drop in wishlists or traffic to their store page, when you also hear that several other stores/platforms do not provide this kind of information at all.

So Valve gets a lot of flack for their "algorithm" since they provide metrics that can be used to monitor the situation, but stores that provide few or no metrics at all pretty much doesn't get these kinds of complaints at all....

It looks like they've also identified a workaround which is to release the demo as a separate SKU.

Alyx pic that was not shared in the tweet.

Looking goooooooooooooooooood.

Damn that looks so good. So much detail on the ground and concrete textures. I still can't believe they made a 15hr long VR game with those visuals and that world using Source2

I wonder what rig it was captured on. Also what happens if you are playing room scale and get your face real close to some of these objects? Will it get very blurry?

A headcrab will jump at you, and the ensuing PTSD will keep you from ever trying that again
people who liked game initially, played demo, don't anymore? Am i oversimplifying what this seems to show?
It's about how the Steam algorithm treats wishlist entries as the only data point, ignoring downloads of a demo. Even if people like it, they might "forget" to wishlist it, I don't know how literate average Steam users are about this and how long their effective attention span is.
