Hi everyone! I hope your summers started well and continue on that same path. Summer is the best season and I celebrated by taking a three day weekend!
What do you do on a three day weekened? Visit the grocery store? Take a bike ride? Sure sure but you also PLAY GAMES!
Experiences worth sharing;
1. Playing No Man's Sky in with two other people and trying to coordinate sucks dilly. Just an awful experience, had no clue what the "host" was working on, there opportunities to assist each other were slim. I think No Man's Sky is great, I played three hours on Friday night to prepare for playing with the guys. Too bad that in a game of such complexity and depth, you ideally need 10 hours solo to learn all of the menus, base building and to acquire upgrades. It got so bad that I just left the planet we were all struggling on to try to "level up" on an easier one. (Kinda worked but at that point, all of our 'frustrations meters' were in the red)
2. Concrete Genie was worth the $11 I paid for it. Its a game geared towards kids and that's ok! Sometimes a lower key game with bright artwork, stylized characters, a forgiving difficulty and maybe a few comforting myths about Bullies. It was short, I think I burned through it in around 5 hours but there is a VR mode and other modes beyond the store mode if you are so inclined.
3. Itch.io BLM bundle, I installed a few games. Islands reminded me of KRZ for five minutes before I got bored. Catllateral Damage is as cute as you'd expect. Sky Rogue is the game I had the most fun with. If you like Ace Combat, Hawk or Star Fox, you'll get along with this one nicely. I've already completed A Short Hike, A Night in the Woods, 2064 ROM and I've given up on Celeste for the time being.
4. State of Decay 2 is a really good Co Op experience and a surprisingly focused one to boot. Recommended for any XBGP PC subscribers.
