Vice City
I'd say Vice City had the best story, setting, and voice acting in a GTA game. I prefer San Andreas over it because I felt more attached to the characters. The missions were more enjoyable for me and I actually liked the rpg elements. I'm also a big fan of 80s/90s West Coast hip-hop so I'm biased in a way :sneaky:

Also, let's not forget K-Rose

It's very confusing at first and there are zero tutorials, but the game also opens with a screen saying "experiment, explore, the more you play the more youll master it" or something, so I guess it's intended.
yeah, it's a feature, not a bug :p the devs said it a few times

D:OS2 is so good! Haven't even played that much.XD Maybe I'm just lyrical because it runs so well on my MacBook, Ultra with decent resolution and frame rate, way better than I expected.

They even bothered to make something useful of the Touch Bar! This like something I've wanted since getting those Logitech gamer keyboards with an display.

EDF seems mindless fun but I've noticed that loading screens drop to 17 fps resulting in longer loading times than needed (yesterday I don't know how was working at 60 and the loading time was halved). Also seems to have bad framepacing all over

edit: that's weird. If I run the game with the League of legends client in the background, it loads faster. If not, it loads slower and drops to 17fps.... And it's set to maximum performance mode, so I have no idea what's going on, but it seems that is not using resources correctly??
edit2: and now it's working even without opening anything....lol

EDF! EDF! EDF! is lots of fun indeed.
Been trying out the classes. Started with a Ranger because the game recommends it, and it was alright though nothing special.
Picked the Fencer after a few missions and boy was that immediately awesome.
Nothing quite like sprying death and destruction with dual-wielded Gatling Guns or dual-wielding giant hammers that obliterate everything in their path.

Switched to a Wing Diver afterwards and am loving the mobility and crazy energy weapons.

The difference between classes and amounts of different weapons with crazy effects is really awesome and I suspect I haven't seen anything yet.

Anthem looks pretty good.

but frame rate and even if it stays above 50 fps, frametimes are very in even and drops below 30fps regularly too.
then also controls are not really that good, probably due to above.

Also it has very constant loading screens that are also quite long, even during missions.
and this is supposed to launch in 3 weeks...

Maybe demo is ancient but would be counter-intuitive to put shitty demo if issues are fixed? Seems like safe bet wait on this (and maybe forget it exists lol).

I didn't play this recent Anthem beta, but I've yet to be convinced that it deserves a place in my GaaS lineup.

This is becoming a serious problem in general for GaaS development. The number of titles keeps growing, the games keep asking for more of my time, and I've only got so much time in a day. Off the top of my head, I'd love to play Warframe, League, R6S, Fortnite BR, Fortnite STW, FFXIV, Tekken, Destiny 2 and MLB the Show.

No idea how Anthem, or even this new supposed Titanfall BR game can fit into my life.

Well, that *is* the problem with everyone wanting to be on the GaaS train. Before the most important limit for games wanting our attention was money, and that has some elasticity to it (with variances in the economy, sales and so on). Now we have to deal with the limit of time that is not that flexible :)

I honestly don't know where this all going, maybe some sort o "soft" crash, but so far I'm no seeing a very healthy ecosystem for all theses games wanting all our time.

yeah ... seems like it's gonna need a few patches before it's truly ready ...
People keep saying that "the demo build is 6 weeks old" but I find hard to believe they wouldn't backport some fixes to avoid so many issues on it. That and some things like the constant loading during missions are probably not that fixable without some major rework of the code.

Played 2hrs of Anthem, was having fun. Then got kicked out midway through the last, very long mission and since then only got server errors. Also some of the loading screens make me feel like I'm I've plugged in my PS3 again. Unacceptable for a demo that wants to sell me on the game. Will get in a few months for 20€.

Ah and that horrendously slow walking speed when in the enclave.

Simply wow to the reviewbombing poll results in another similar forum to this, it's just wow.

Like the hotas problem in ace combat, you look at the reviews and see red, you check and see that is about the controls, you undestand that the issue has no merit for you so you dig in other reviews or forums or articles/videos to see if they talk about the thinks you need to make a purchase.

I think Anthem might just be Bioware's swan song. Nothing I've seen of this game has convinced me that it will be a big hit. It's possible that I am simply out of touch with the GaaS crowd though.

Review-bombing is an idiotic term that has no meaning anyways. What does it specifically refer to and how could you ever prevent it while preserving consumer rights?
  • Is it cases like CHUCHEL's where alt-right trolls left some dumb reviews because Amanita changed their character so it looked like it didn't have blackface? I appreciated that they changed the design, but I admittedly don't particularly like the new one either. So if I was to leave a negative review, how would you distinguish between my legitimate review and some alt-right gooberstilskin?
  • Is it Ace Combat 7's recent PC port that didn't have proper mouse support in menus, didn't have proper HOTAS support and didn't seem to have higher resolutions implemented properly? Is that somehow not a legitimate complaint just because we might post it en masse, or even might post it via an organized campaign?
  • Is it Rainbow 6 Siege's issue last year where people went and gave negative reviews because of proposed worldwide changes to the game's visual content to make the version more in-line with what was acceptable in China? Even if there were an organized campaign (I know I was one of thousands rallying people to complain via Reddit/Discord), how is it not legitimate to have a gripe with a game that has post-launch censorship to force everyone to have the same visuals as an authoritarian nation?
  • Is it when people left negative reviews on Battlefront II's Metacritic pages (still 1.1 on PS4), and ganged up on EA's community rep to create the most downvoted post in Reddit history? An account that got so negatively karma-bombed, the account was abandoned by EA for community interactions?
  • Is it when dozens of negative reviews were left on Town of Salem because they had a data-breach that exposed usernames/passwords/IP Addresses, and didn't inform anyone until they came back from their holiday vacations? The game might deserve some sympathy because they were previously review-bombed because they were accused of being "SJWs" with their chat filtering/bans, but isn't one of the largest gaming data breaches (7.6M unique users) worthy of a concerted campaign against them?

I could post a dozen more examples, but we all know what those situations were that ended up effecting positive change.. Taking away consumer outlets to voice their opinion is almost never an actual solution, and no one has yet come up with a way to separate the "proper" negative reviews and the "improper" ones.

Having a hard time deciding whether San Andreas or Bully is the GOAT Rockstar game
That would be Red Dead Redemption 2. It is the only game of theirs I gave 10. Eventhough it is not perfect, it is damn close.

Thinking the same thing.
I do not play gaas games, I do not want my hobby to become a second job. I tried anthem, nice graphics and total waste of time playing. It is the opposite of what I want from Bioware.

This alt-right blah blah nonsense is overplayed, I hated the change in Chuchel's appearance simply because a ball of dust is god damn supposed to be black, not orange, it makes zero sense and the whole game looks worse as a result, and to be honest one must be really obsessed with identity politics to unhealthy degree to see racist thing in that game made by few czech guys. I am czech and blackface is simply not a thing here, nobody would make that connection without the internet outrage machine.

Opt-in support ticketing. Amazing stuff from Sergey the Sham, as usual.
He elaborates that he expects big pubs like ubisoft to use their own support systems while smaller devs will use Epic's and he doesn't want to force anyone to use something they do not want to

I still think it is super dumb to have this and reviews opt-in though

That still seems like a fairly silly argument.

Ubi is a little different I suppose since their games sold on other stores still run in Uplay, but if we're talking about a nearly multi-billion dollar enterprise like Ubisoft, it shouldn't be too great of an expectation that they read support tickets through multiple systems. Ticketing systems should be as accessible as possible, and running one through the client a game is sold on seems like a fair way to do that.

While I was testing Anthem on my rig I had a sane idea, for a change, and wondered about my temps. Turns out speccy told me 2500k at 73c and gtx 970 at 80c. As I'm still a noob techwise, what should I make of it ? Where we in the process of dividing by zero ? The fusion just a little farther ?
No seriously, what, in a gaming PC, are good temp for these parts in you opinion ?

And what should I use to monitor that stuff ?

Not the bestest temps but not problematic in any way. They're fine. You can use MSI Afterburner, it works for every GPU brand, not just MSI, it lets you OC, change fan curves, whatever, and comes packaged with RTSS which allows other cool stuff like global/per game fps limits, screenshot/video hotkeys and what not. Though I've not been able to get the overlays to actually work in recent years (?!), I'm guessing it's not a problem for most people.

So is there a system in place to force the developer to use one or the other? How will Epic check if a developer is providing proper support through an off-site system?

Alexandros Why would they? They're built on different ( aka none ) principles than Steam so they aren't going to copy them according to those tweets.
Everything i read from the chuckleheads over at Epic make me less likely to use their store which i'm sure both they and I are perfectly fine with. They don't want my money and i see no reason to give them any.

For that spec hardware the temps don't seem too bad! Were your fans making a racket if not you are probably still good :)

You can use MSI Afterburner to monitor your temps but I wouldn't worry too much unless you are seeing performance throttle down over time, super loud fans or crashes. Especially if you are the most tech savvy it is almost better to ignore unless it becomes an issue. If it is something you want to poke around with monitor the temps with MSI Afterburner and check them when idle and when running different games to see how it compares. Mainly check to see if the temps are affecting performance though.

I'm guessing you have had those components for a while you could see some drastic improvements just by dusting out the PC or quite a bit more advanced reapplying thermal paste to the CPU.

Have a guess who isn't really bothered by 'chievos?
1,600+ achievements, 12 Perfect Games, 46% avg Completion.
lol I don't know when they introduced stuff like that but my account is 14 this year, bless.
I'm more interested in rarity. My rarest are from "We Happy Few" ranging from 0.20% to 1% and "No Man's Sky" and "Cradle" with 1% also.

I wish I didn't care about achievements, but I do and I actually like to collect them :face-screaming-in-fear:

My account has an 82-83% average completion rate and now all my rarest achievements are from Book of Demons, between 0,01% and 0,10%.
Before that, they were mostly from Grim Dawn :smiling-face-with-heart-shaped-eyes:
