Control is pretty great but the way the game sends you all the way back to the last control point every time you die is kind of obnoxious. Especially considering how long the loading times can be even on my SSD. :confused-face:

If loading times are bad switch to DX12 mode. For some reason DX12 has to be launched by a different exe in the files but the game does a check and forces you to play DX11 on some PC’s. Theres a workaround though but I was playing on DX11 for like an hour before realizing there was DX12.

My HDD has really fast loading screens on DX12 but on 11 they’re like 3 minutes long each.

Workaround if game is forcing you into DX11 from PCgamingwiki.
create <path-to-game>\steam_appid.txt and write 870780within the file to be able to launch the game executables directly.

Interesting, thanks for the tip! I'll try that next time I play.

I used DX11 because the launcher says it's the recommended mode for most users and I figured DX12 was for ray-tracing only. My GPU technically supports driver-level ray-tracing but lol. Even Quake 2 was borderline unplayable at 720p. Control would run at like 3 frames per second if even that.

Dang it Line Webtoon. It use to be a good app way back in 2017/2018 but just like all things. It became popular and so monitization started...... At one time everyone was free with an ad here of there and that was pretty much it. Everyone was on an equal playing field. But that is no longer the case. If you want to read the 5 most current episodes you have to pay for them and keep paying for them to be caught up (if you are only reading one series this is not so bad but if you are reading multiple series it can be pretty bad. On the plus side after 5 weeks they become free. Now what really sucks is that for their complete series they made it so you can't binge read them and you can only read one chapter a day...... So in some cases you would have to wait a full year to read some series..... (I could be wrong on this last part but ya)

Oh Webtoon. Also I will miss Mangabox, which was sort of weird with how it worked and I guess it never really pick up and will probably be dead in the near future. I wish that there was an easier way to read webtoons but as it stands some sites just make it way to expensive to read webtoons (even if it's the only legal way to read some of them). Webtoons does have the right idea sort of, other have a monthly membership but then there are those were you are forced to pay per episodes and those are the ones that I don't like.

- I tried Battletoads on Game Pass.
Didn't detect my DS4.

- I used Glosc.
It still didn't detect it at first but after that t'was cool.

- Then the controls in the pause menu were for keyboard, and I had to push the LMB to validate the tutorials that said to hit Enter (while I'm using a pad, may I remind you).

- Then I died at the second boss form and respawned in an empty room with no way to advance.

There is definitely a lot to unpack here :thinking-blob:
I'm a week late, but I just downloaded it and had similar issues. It's the first time I've had controller issues like that, so I checked and I see that the game has DS4 support built in. I don't know if that's the reason why it's being weird, but yeah...

DX11 gives me like 5-10% better framerate. So there's that consideration too. But yeah it tanks the framerate the second you turn on any of the Raytracing features.

Also Hayter taking funny jabs at Nolan North will never not be funny.

What happened?

Discount ends in under 12 hours

This is an arcade game where you are assaulted by various enemies and you fire an energy beam in 360 degrees to destroy them.
There are upgrades but the gameplay is based around this for the majority of the game.
It looks nice and overall I think it's a good arcade style action game. I can't guarantee it'd be fore veryone but if you want something on the more simple side of gameplay do consider getting it, help an indie out.

Control price watch: Voidu has lowered the price further, making it €23,79 (with the 15% off 'ggdeals' coupon). We're almost in 50% off territory.

Mmmm. I love competition.
This is madness. Its now cheaper on wingamestore 22.79€ . I'm not sure whether you can apply an extra 5% off with "pcgames5off" code. I didn't see any place where to add it Nvm, coupons not allowed on this product, sorry,.

Reason: added reason for no coupon availability

Thanks for caring about my post !
Unfortunately, if the game has DS4 support on Game Pass, it’s well hidden. As I said, my first attempt was ’naked’ DS4 (via bluetooth). Keikaku it didn’t go as :pensive-face:

Wow, Boseman dying is a big shock, was talking about him just yesterday with friends... it sucks to lose an icon like him right now.
I hope he'll get a tasteful send off in the MCU, that's the least they can do.

Still can't get Wasteland 3 downloaded on game pass, but it's still a game Im gonna get on Steam regardless whenever Im ready for it.

It's a long and big game so suddenly having MS store backend fuck something up 30 hours in or so is not something Im willing to risk.

Im kinda sad for the PC game pass team. The job and value they are putting into game pass on PC is great, but it's being screwed up by the backend which I assume they don't have much control over.

And that's Max Payne 2 finished for the first time.
It was overall far superior to 1 for me. Not sure why. The mouse not crashing every 5 minutes sure helped. Maybe I'm just vain and this is because it's frankly better looking. Oh and the loss of the more edgy mc edge plot elements was nice too (drug, norse mythology, dead family). It was less edge (still was, eh) and more Noir pastiche.

Now to replay Alan Wake and DLC. With a 2060 super, I hope to play it in 4K.

Then Control or Quantum Something / Max Payne 3 if I fail my will save.

I have this crazy idea to play Wasteland 1 and 2 before buying 3. But I'm not sure Wasteland 1 is still enjoyable today. Did any of you played the original game lately?

Did you have a look at the remaster?

Hmm, thinking about old games I have to play, there is the one we don't talk that often about because it is, like PCGamer rightly said, GOAT.
Dragon Age 2 :tightly-closed-eyes:

As I don't have the dlc on Origin I thought about buying the complete pack on Steam, but... do you know if I will be able to import my save from 1 in the Steam version ?

I don't get what the Steam appID is for this game on sale on the Humble Store:

Edit: it must be this one:

The closest game should be:

but it is already sold as this game on the Humble Store:

Funnily, it is a zero-review game.

There’s been such an influx of games to play lately.

I went back and 100%’d Mirrors Edge Catalyst since they added Steam achievements and now im juggling Control, Tell me Why, Hypnospace Outlaw (New expansion hype), Titanfall 2, Burnout Paradise, No Straight Roads and Wasteland 3.

On top of all that Deemo Reborn and Humble Choice are both out next week, I can’t keep up o_O

Streets of Rage 4 at 15% off is tempting, but I have a lot on my plate right now so Im gonna wait.

What kind of artstyle/graphics is this (the gameplay part)? Hi-res pixel art?

I never play the original (I probably haven't born yet), and the remaster doesn't look appealing.

I just wanted to say that Per Aspera is really good stuff. It's a zany sci-fi experience that I had a lot of fun with, not unlike EvE Online's Planetary Interaction, but actually good and fun. I encourage those into this stuff to give the free sandbox a shot.

Edit : also, fuuuuck Chadwick Boseman :(. Fuck cancer with a vengeance.

There is enough lore, history, and mentioning of the things that happened in Wasteland 1 that it is not really needed to play it. Especially because the game is so old. I could still play Fallout 1/2 but not Wasteland 1.

Well there is the remaster of Wasteland 1 from this year:

I debated getting this on Switch, but I'm in no hurry to play it(too many games in the queue), so I may just wait until it shows up on Steam.

I haven't even't bothered going arrr on it yet which I planned to. Too much on my plate already so for all I know I won't have time for it until it shows up on Steam and maybe not even then.

"We will explore expanding our 1st party titles to the PC platform, in order to promote further growth in our profitability "

How interesting. Yes Sony, keep "exploring" so I can give you money.

They need to give Gravity Rush a second chance on PC.

I played and finished both of them and they are really good despite their flaws.

Oh the sweet, sweet meltdowns.

People on Twitter, Reddit (r/ps4, r/ps5) and ERA are already in denial stage.

Anyone who get a meltdown for seeing their favorite games release on more platforms needs to check themselves out or take a long walk to reflect on themselves.

I have been a Playstation person my entire life, more than I have been a PC gamer, I started gradually going to PC gaming around right before we entered the PS4/Xbone gen and I still play games on my Playstation devices, hooking up my PS3, playing on my Vita and playing on my PS4 for exclusives.

Yet I love the notion that more people will be able to play my game of the generation Bloodborne.
