New week, new post, this one seems to be a good one for RPGs in particular.
Phasmophobia kept the first place and the crown as king of the week and the closer to Halloween, the stronger it gets as the theme of the game is perfect for such time of the year, plus, some very interesting observation will come after this commentary about the Twitch numbers and the player correlation, wait for it.
Cyberpunk 2077 went from fourth place to second place, last week
Panda Pedinte asked me if I thought it would be the best seller prior the release and my answer was that given the trend and the projection it was quite possible, well, today I can affirm that yes, I indeed believe that the game will be next week's best seller (I could be wrong tho)
Among Us said he wanted to keep the bronze medal and so it happened, numbers have not declined in terms of players, popularity is once again very high but at this moment of the year the spooky feeling of the month and one of the most wanted games of the last few years got way better results, make no mistake, Among Us is going to stay strong for some time.
The extreme capitalist spacey adventure of The Outer World debuted on steam in fourth place after only 2 days of sales with a CCU over 20k players, we can safely say it has been a success in terms of reception after 1 year of mid-exclusivity of EGS and Gamepass, like Phasmophobia I will comment a bit of the projection and trend of the game but it's a very impressive release nonetheless.
Baldur's Gate 3 EA dropped from second place to fifth place, make no mistake, the engagement of the game is still very good and the feedback between community and Larian keeps doing well, however it is pretty clear that, even with such amazing results the game will benefit from big updates and while it might be dropping soon now, it will probably reappear from time to time, we will have to wait and see what happens.
Index got new stock and it's being sold at a regular basis, nothing to comment here for now (for now I said)
Grand Theft Auto V is still on sale so it is normal that the game went up in this week two places, from ninth to seventh, nothing to comment here but what a one-of-a-time juggernaut in terms of sales and reception.
Fall Guys keeps descending to the abyss, from seventh to eighth, new season didn't refresh the number of newcomers and while the player base stayed more or less steady, it hasn't bring fresh blood to the game, however, can we say it's a disaster? HELL NO, this game has been and still is a juggernaut and it will probably end up in the platinum category later this year with Valve's list of top sellers.
Hades on the other hand saw the abyss and said "NOT TODAY, YOU DEMONS" and just like that it has been in the top sellers limit for four weeks in a row shifting between ninth and tenth position, funny and amazing to see how well is doing.
Speaking of spooky, Amnesia: Rebirth debuted on the list on tenth position, lower than what you could expect from a big name such as Amnesia but we will have to wait and see if Halloween saves the day, in my most honest opinion, it won't and this will probably be the first and last time we see it in this chart.
Little update about the graph I shared last week about phasmophobia, this time I decided to check how it relates Twitch and steam users and, well, quite well, actually.
The movements as you can see do the exact same pattern as the peaks and decreases of daily population, really cool, huh?
And about The Outer Worlds.... well.... Let's just say that the trend is quite interesting and the engagement was a success, this is why you release on Fridays if possible, fellas.
It won't be growing ad eternum but at the very least it showed that it was a complete success in terms of sales and the, already known, theory of the weekend three days of expansion, plus it helped a lot being a big name and featuring an animated banner.
