Finished Far Cry 5. What an ending lol.

It is not as bad as I heard. A pretty good twist, actually. Eden's Gate keep telling people the end is coming and they need to prepare for it, but it is easy to imagine that no sane person would believe in such bullshit, including the players. I do understand why players were so angry towards this ending as it feels like a giant waste of time when the bombs starting to drop. Meanwhile, if the developers would have incorporated New Dawn and make it as ACT 2 of this main game, I can imagine people blowing their mind and praising it as a modern classic.

Yeah, it's a more casual Soulslike. There's a prequel coming out later today which looks like even more casual than Remnant.

Perfect World already increased the regional pricing for Remnant.
THQNordic will increase it even further.

Was it recent? The only time they increased the price for me was just before the game is out. They increased it by almost 100% of the original price. Now at 50% off, the game is only a dollar cheaper than the original price.

I still refuse to buy the game due to this. Screw them.

Genshin Impact won the Best Game of the Year Google Play award

Any title crowned Best Game has to exceed expectations and deliver compelling, accessible, genre-defining experiences. Thankfully, this year’s winner does all this without missing a beat. Our Best Game of 2020 is:

Genshin Impact

Bound through rolling fields and bustling cities, soaking up majestic views from towering heights. The vast open world of Teyvat is yours to explore as you gather a team of intrepid travelers and search for knowledge on commanding the elements. Genshin Impact blew us away with its sheer scale and ambition. Recruit characters and fight together in a richly detailed, utterly beautiful world. Combat is fast and fluid, with each fight a spectacle to behold. Quite simply, this is the best game we’ve played this year.

Nice new thread lashman :sendlove:

Don't know if I'll get Cyberpunk right away. The more they showed of the game the worse it looked to me what they do. At this point I also expect Elon Musk to be in the game and say something like „Lets do a Cyberpunk“ while his Harambe song plays in the background. Not to mention all the transphobia around the marketing and company.

Also doesn’t help that I am currently still playing Demon's Souls and still have to finish Yakuza: Like a Dragon. And I don’t want my butt hurting from all the gaming

One of my favorite parts of the Steam Awards is how Valve puts “review a nominated game” as one of the badge challenges. It leads to a shit ton of people leaving positive reviews for games they like. This primarily applies to GaaS and 2020 releases though

The fun part for me is looking at games review counts and scores skyrocket. It even causes a lot of these titles to have their overall review percentage raised, which I don’t think you’ll see any dev complain about lol. Im a big fat nerd I know.

Reviews in general are an increasingly popular feature as well. 2 years ago there was only a handful of games with 100k+ reviews and now theres a ton, and there are a ton more at 50-90k+ as well. Very interesting watching its growth

Also sidebar congrats to Relogic on hitting 500k “counted” reviews on Terraria with a 97% positive rating. Well deserved for a fantastic dev team.

I'm sure some indie dev will complain because no one wanted to nominate his game.

Wasteland 3 done. Was fun, though also another disappointing case of "we focused on the console version".
The dialogue trees were stripped down to almost nothing and the UI occasionally felt a bit insulting to use on PC, mostly the worldmap that was clearly designed for players using analogue sticks for the car. The game is also vastly more combat heavy than it's already combat heavy predecessor.

All in all it's fun, but it can hardly pass as a CRPG anymore, it's better approached as an XCOM style game.

This OT was great, one could say as per usual. Not sure about the games, but you gotta appreciate the diversity on offer.

About Cyberpunk...
I think I am not what you would call woke. Not a bigot, my god, not hateful, but not perfect. I will play Cyberpunk, I have very little doubts about that.
But still, it's incredible how their PR and creative choices have sucked the joy out of this release. It's still the biggest game of the year, maybe of multiple years, but it's not a party anymore.

I will resist quoting Umberto Eco here, sparing you a paragraph that could be seen as saccharine but so true nevertheless.

Honestly, I like the change in the dialogue system. I really didn't like what they were going for in Wasteland 2. From how terrible the interface looked, to how the topic-based structure makes the NPCs feel more like walking wikipedia entries. There's few games that were good at that, like Morrowind. Most of the time it just ends up making the world feel even less interesting, at least for me. At least everytime I got a dialogue option in Wasteland 3, I know it's something custom and unique for that particular character.
The combat focus is true, though it's hard to really know how much that dominates play time, as I'm still near the beginning of the game. And honestly, I like the XCOM style system, I feel focused on the strengths of the game, and cut down on a lot of pointless fat.

Being nerdy is a-ok. But I think everyone can profit from more physical exercise. I started going to the gym regularly this year, and it's great. You simply feel better about literally everything, the process itself becomes strangely satisfying, and it's super healthy to boost. It really sucks my country couldn't avoid a second lockdown. I miss the gym.

I'd agree with that. I've been trying to do just basic Calisthenics whilst stuck at home and it does give you a good feeling. Must be endorphins or something. Natural high.
Im also a nerd.

ABSOLUTELY, in my case I take very long walks in some remote areas I like to visit, it might be 2 straight hours of walking and it feels absolutely amazing. :cat-heart-blob:
