According to the publisher, sales in Japan have been trending stronger for the 2nd compared to the first. It had sold at least 150K copies from its Dec 3rd release and the press announcement around Dec 9th.

Edit: Now where it has landed a few weeks out, not so sure.

If Yakuza has a fishing minigame, I'm doomed.

Also, it appears MS is going to be forcing people to create MS Accounts to play Minecraft going forward, even the Java version. I don't think this flies with UE regulations though?

Welp KT. I wouldn't be surprised if this affects visibility for the game. If you look at the sales charts it's pretty dang low .
Eh it will probably do fine. With that said I do wonder how many people are in the same situation as me where I'd love to get 2 but I wanna play 1 first and that game costs a billion dollars

The Painscreek Killings is really creepy even though it is detective game. You are investigating a cold case in a completely deserted town. The atmosphere is superb and there is no hand-holding. Still playing it so I am not sure how's the game ends up, but so far the story is pretty cool as well.

Edit: Do make your own notes when playing the game. I recommend keeping a name list, an address list and a note for miscellaneous information (eg. date of events).

I have noticed that more and more devs and pubs are focusing or mainly using the Steam news hub to announce new things. Like I checked on r/games and the Biomutant release date and Dead Cells DLC trailer are linked towards the Steamcommunity news page.

I guess it's quite frankly simply that devs and pubs sees they are reaching more people by announcing stuff on the Steam news hub than their own website and the news hub is easier to link to on social media, so they announce stuff on their own site and on Steam, but they link to Steam more than their own site. This makes console communities like r/nintendoswitch etc. also get linked to Steam.

Just a cool observation.

They announced that late last year and they'll start asking you to migrate to a new or existing microsoft account in batches starting soon i think.
I haven't seen anything about regulatory issues but that's probably because i haven't looked for anything either.

Does Y3-6 have cabaret, disco or karaoke?
They don't have the cabaret manager mini-game like Y0 and YK2, instead Y3 and Y4 have the hostess maker minigame, in 5 and 6 you can only visit the cabarets and talk with girls. All of them have karaoke. Disco is Y0 only I believe.

I'm starting to get the itch to pick Yakuza 0 back up and continue my save, but the biggest issue I had with the game was that it at times didn't really respect one's time, since there could be overly long sequences without the ability to save.

The ability to quickly shut down a game and still keep any progress is very important to me.

The thing that comes to my mind are sequences in the main story where you need to fight a lot of grubs until you hit a boss. And yeah, those are meant to be tackled in a single sitting, but also fairly well communicated I feel and there's maybe 10 of those in the entire game, each maybe 10 minutes long. The worst is probably the car shootout in Yakuza 0 and 1. Those are easily the worst bits in an otherwise great game :weary-face:
Outside of that though, I like how you can just boot it up, play a few minigames or sub stories and then easily save anywhere you want. This was added to Yakuza 0 in a patch, and I think Yakuza Kiwami 2 had that from the get-go.

Yes, it's not only a good way to appear in multiple tools of the platform but also it's easier to share on social media as:
1- it's a known route for the URLs
2-Share buttons are just there
3- You can share the same information for all the public, Steam and non-Steam.

Also, it's included in the standard fee so, as the results have been favorable, studios just use it no problem, reception has been quite well by the data.

Are you no longer forced to use the phonebooths? I thought they patched out the save anywhere ability.

Oh yeah, you're right, just looked it up. I played and finished it before that was gone. That does make things a bit more annoying, but not by a whole lot. Phone booths are literally anywhere. But it's sad they couldn't find a way of just disabling the menu option when you're in a fight or otherwise "weird" state. Doesn't sound like a hard thing to detect. Just removing it feels like a cheep "solution"

Very looking forward to The Medium now after checking some reviews. Have enjoyed every Bloober game, even Blair Witch.

Wonder how many Steam cheevos there are.

So, uh, what the fuck.

Seems like some 4D chess market manipulation of gamestop stock and reddit is up against hedge funds and media moguls or something.

man, I don't even want to know how badly The Medium runs on my GTX 1660ti laptop. I'm not planning to play it until sometime later this year, so hopefully optimization will make it a bit less demanding

anyway, playing through Jedi Fallen Order via the EA Play $1 Steam deal and really enjoying it, for the most part

Ryza 2 keys are up for GMG for some people. Looks like they didn't get enough for everyone who preordered though.

It really does not help that the game does not look particularly impressive. The budget must be very low I guess.
