FF12 is great and The Falconeer looks interesting. I probably won't be using Game Pass much in the near future though since Nioh 2 is going to eat up all my free time.

I told myself I didn't care about this because I have the trilogy and DLC already on PC... But I do care. Especially if they update ME1's gameplay.

Maybe I'll finally choose Ashley over Kaiden.

Mass Effect 1 in particular must have been difficult to remaster, it aged really badly all around.

Still super interested to see the visual overhaul. Not anything close to Mafia 1 or Gears Ultimate but UE3 was a reasonably scalable engine so there is potential.

Hades is the ultimate example of a run-based game that somehow manages to get both combat and story to be integral to the player experience. Without the motley cast of Gods and friends that you meet, the superb combat might get a bit dull, and without the superb combat, finding out the story for so many characters might not be worth the investment. Supergiant manage to miraculously do both here and the game shines for it. Everyone should play Hades and enjoy the ride.

Hades is a remarkably well-rounded game, but if at its core it wasn't also such an intense joy to play, a lot of those other elements would wear off over time. So, given that Hades is a most potent cocktail of gamey fun then, it is both my favorite game this year and likely among the brightest experiences I will have had with the medium for many more years to come.

Supergiant more or less achieved one of their ambitious goal, which was that each run would be worth it in some way. Incredibly generous content, stellar art direction and solid writing.

Having the trilogy and all the dlc in a single package and with updated visuals is a dream come true for me. I've wanted this for a long time. So glad it's finally happening. I honestly can't wait to revisit it, haven't played anything even remotely like it since finishing ME3.

Sad to see Sega doing another exclusivity deal, especially since pc is probably their most important platform. Anyway, like every other game involved in money hatting practices, Judgment goes straight to my ignore list. And the more exclusivity deals Sega makes, the less likely it becomes that I will buy games from them. I've been doing this since Metro Exodus and I still have so many games on my wish list and backlog that I don't know where to start. :)

God, I'd love to replay ME1 with updated looks and better Mako controls.
I understand I'm not the target audience for these mega corporations, but how did it take so long for this to happen? EA literally slept an entire generation on these HD remasters.

I imagine more than half of PC gamers who played those games never played a lot of the DLC.

The stupid bioware bucks offsite bullshit was so dumb and inconvenient. Plus there was other DLC which was available only to people who preordered.

Packing all that stuff into this Legendary Edition will be so good.

Some of the serie's highlights are in the dlc. ME3 also had the most important piece of lore in the whole series relegated to a dlc which was fucking ridiculous.

Man, I gotta admit, the prospect of playing these remasters makes me really happy.

List of gameplay changes posted on rpgsite:

  • Fast Elevators, at last: in a demo of the PC version of Legendary Edition versus the original game, BioWare showed that a 52-second elevator ride from the Citadel Wards to the Presidium now only takes 14 seconds in the remaster. In addition, if dialogue is playing out during an elevator ride, an optional skip prompt will appear once the area loading the elevator ride hides is complete.
  • New Game+ No Longer Required for Level 60: for the Legendary Edition, BioWare has rebalanced the XP required to hit Level 60, the Level Cap. This is important because in the original game, New Game+ was required to hiti level cap, and hitting level cap unlocked significant bonuses in Mass Effect 2. In the Legendary Edition, you’ll be able to hit 60 and max out your bonuses even on the first play-through.
  • No more Class-Based Weapon Restrictions: in the original ME1, not all classes can use all weapons. This has been rebalanced for the Trilogy Remaster, with restrictions removed. This means that, for instance, that the Biotic-focused Sentinel class can use weapons other than pistols - but they won’t be able to train and put skill points into those weapon classes, limiting their abilities. In addition, penalties to aim based on your class have been eliminated.
  • Aiming & Weapon Changes & Improvements: traditional RPG fans who struggle with the shooter elements will be pleased to know that ME1 now has a proper aim assist, including a ‘snap to’ enemy function, just like the latter two games. In addition, every weapon has been rebalanced and tweaked to try to give every weapon and every manufacturer “a unique feel”.
  • The Mako gets an upgrade: ME1’s infamous ground vehicle featured controls and physics that often defied logic to often hilarious impact, but these things have been tweaked for the Legendary Edition. There’s new physics, an alternative control scheme, an overall speed boost, and camera shake to make it feel more dynamic.
  • Modernized HUD, more in line with ME2 & 3
  • Improved AI for both enemies and squad member allies
  • Boss Encounter improvements & rebalancing
  • Mini game changes - mini-games are now the same across all platforms, and have reduced difficulty & frequency
  • Control Scheme adjusted to be closer to ME2 & 3, including a dedicated melee button
  • Smoother Camera Control, including when aiming down a scope
  • Improved First Aid cooldown - presumably to make it quicker
  • More Customization options - as well as there being one unified ‘Shepard’ character model throughout the series, be that default or custom, all customization options are now uniform across all three games. If an option was available in ME3, it now exists in ME1.
  • PC version upgrades including proper native controller support, better keybinding options and 21:9 ultrawide support

They also say that Bioware decided to not make any significant changes to ME1's systems and I agree with this decisions, this is a remaster, not a remake, it's supposed to preserve the intent of the original design.

My favorite thing about the Mass Effect games is to constantly run around the ship and talk to everyone on board after any story/mission/progress has happened in the game. It felt like almost always there was new conversations, story bits, lore etc. It was so incredible and that experience was never quite the same with Dragon Age games or Andromeda. This trilogy really was peak BioWare. I can't wait to replay it and can't wait to see what they do with the new entry in the future.

He may sound very generic but he's actually the only one to say we wouldn't have seen Elden Ring in 2020, specifing that Demon's Souls was a PS5 launch title before it was announced

I feel like at this point Valve would actually help customers outside the US the most by simply removing regional pricing and just fixing everything to a dollar price, and just letting people pay that exact price in their local currency.

for most AAA releases? yes, absolutely
