I believe that's mostly due to the recent Gamepass integration.
And the 1€ deal.

About Roguebook: one has to permanently remove the alpha from one's Steam account in order to play the demo.:emo:

This is the alpha:

This is the demo:

I will try again to download the depot:
Code:
steam://nav/console
download_depot 1490120 1490121 8189679640045552943
It reminds me of the issue with DQ11's demo, which was in Japanese, and the fix was either to manually download the English depot (~30 GB without anything appearing in the download manager, and without any ability to pause/resume the download), or to permanently remove the Japanese demo from my account, I would guess.

Edit: Yay! The demo is then at:
Code:
Steam\steamapps\content\app_1490120\depot_1490121\

What are my options if I want a launcher for emulation ?
I just wasted a couple of hours on RetroArch, it's shit. If the auto mode doesn't work you have to add the game, name it after a fucking database, and pray nothing hit the fan. This is just pathetic. I just asked for a nice UI.

I mean, Steam would be cool, but nothing is automated there.

I believed we've touched this same subject last year (or was is the year before?) Anyway.

Why not use Steam ROM Manager?

It will detect and add RetroArch shortcuts to Steam, and will run your emulated library off Steam.

Combined with SteamGrid, you don't even need another 3rd-party launcher.

Oh, believe me I remembered and looked at the convo. And googled shit etc etc.
It works ! Until it doesn't and then, no idea.
To be precise I was a little ambitious and tried to display the box art pic and the snap pic. Box art was fine (with a good dose of notepad++) but some snaps just don't want to display, even with checking name and filepath again and again.

So, I mentioned last week how my gpu went kaput. Yeserday I managed to get a very good deal on a used GTX980 and put it into my PC. Things didn't go as I hoped.
Windows was booting just fine but the moment the desktop is supposed to appear all I get is a black screen. The mouse cursor is visible and I can get the task manager to appear but everything else isn't visible, even in safe mode. I have 2 accounts on my PC so after trying a ton of stuff I decided to change users and the other account works just fine... I tried every fix I could find but I can't restore the picture to the main account.
Eventually I gave up and decided to try the gpu on the secondary account and performance was terrible, completely unplayable with the same settings I was using on my previous, much weaker gpu. I update the drivers of course and the card is plugged in correctly as far as I can tell.
I looked online and apparently a lot of people encountered this issue. Updating the mobo's bios is supposed to be an effective fix but I will only find out tonight when I get home from work. So that was 4 hours of my life wasted. Anyone here have any ideas? I really need to get rid of that black screen.
Might be worth try the troubleshooting there

You say the performance was bad when using a seccodary account, do you have Windows installed in a HD or SSD? Did you check if Windows is downloading and installing some update while you were trying to play? I had that issue around 2 years ago.

I'd say try using DDU to uninstall/reinstall the driver cleanly.
Is there any overlay or other type of display app running on the main account that may be having a problem with the card?
Check the GTX980 with GPUZ and make sure it's got the correct figures for clocks and PCI-e speeds etc.

Launchbox is very good on windows. Configures almost everything automatically. I'd still add a smallish number of games at a time to make sure it's doing what you want though.

Wow @ that Chinese Immortal Tale game doing 170k concurrent atm wtf.

I wonder how much more it would be if they at least had English subs.

Also still no preload for Nioh2. Come on KT I made space for it and everything :(

I didn't have a 144hz monitor back when I played the first Nioh and the combat/gameplay loop was still so smooth. Can't wait to play it at 120hz. I really wish FROM would update the Souls trilogy with higher frame rates. KT is doing it for PS5 owners so it would be great it FROM would do the same while everyone waits for Elden Ring :negative-blob:.

Sadly Team Ninja confirmed there wouldn't be a preload on twitter a few days ago. Downloads like 57gb but unpacks to 90gb apparently though.

What's so interesting with this game? It doesn't look so interesting at all
Its a roguelike game about Chinese mythology and cultivation. Both of which are very popular in China.

Its being updated daily and the devs are pretty active so its quickly building a big community. Even among people who don't speak chinese because the art and overall gameplay is pretty good.

I kind of see the appeal but it must be some big native/local thing for people in China. I can't think of any english or western games like that which did those numbers so its pretty crazy. It reminds me of the old Tales of Majeyal fun dungeon crawler looking at the trailer heh.

This is neat and cheap. Not quite sure how much I care about it, because I'm overloaded on factory games and tower defense, and this is like a tiny version of those ... but it's interesting. I played it a little but couldn't stick with it yet.

GamePass is such an incredible value that it sometimes feels like theft.

Like, determining which titles to buy, and which to just wait till the show up on Game Pass is its own metagame.
In the past two weeks I have completed Desperados 3 and The Medium thanks to Game Pass. I was really close to buying Desperados 3 during the Steam holiday sale but held off. I would have never played The Medium without Game Pass since I'm not a big fan of horror games, but Microsoft's hype machine made me interested enough to try it (and it was better than I was expecting). Between Game Pass and Humble Monthly, I rarely buy games directly from Steam any more. The only exception is if it is a game I will play immediately and I'm pretty sure won't show up in a subscription service any time soon.

Hey! I bought this after seeing your post this morning and just played the tutorial and first bunch of paintings.

Its great. :cat-heart-blob:
That's so nice to hear! I've heard great things about this game over the years, but never really got to it because Picross wasn't appealing to me. After finding out the beauty of Picross, I remembered about this game. It's so cheap and yet has so much content packed in.

I'm glad you've enjoyed it too! :steam_pigblanket:

This is about a new Half-Life ?
No, Valve time is not a reference to the company itself, it's about timing.

(although I guess you already knew and if that wasn't the case, well, you do now haha)

I already tried everything in that guide. It's on a HDD, not idea if it was updating tbh.
