I'm really impressed with what they did for Diablo 2 remastered. I'm not feeling any attraction to the game because it's been decades and better games have come out, but I can't help respect the artistic prowess :).

Diablo 2 R looks really good, but I expect Blizzard to fuck it up someway, so I won't pre-order.

So. .... P5S doesn't have an exit option. So you have to ALT+F4 to close the game... Why ATLUS/KT/SEGA?

This is something that should be able to get patched in.
It does have an exit option, but it's not enabled until you get the menu access about 1-2 hours in. Until that time you can use Steam overlay to quit.

A bit stupid, but not the end of the world.
Wait, persona Strikers is out???
Digital Deluxe purchasers got access starting from yesterday.

Hey, it was to be a productive day ! I made some space on a HD yesterday in preparation, then today was new backup plan and new password manager !
Backup plan is not for me (Veeam, it does a full backup when I just want it to update the existing one) and something eludes me in my transition ffrom LastPass to Bitwarden. The passwords import fine but are not linked to the corresponding sites. And why do I have to manually sync my motherfucking passwords ?
So yeah, fail day :anguished-face:

Persona 5 Strikers is much closer to a typical Persona game than I was expecting. I initially thought it would be like a regular musou, but it's basically a normal Persona game but with real time combat instead of turn based. I'm surprised at how close the battle mechanics emulate a regular Persona game and how well it works in real time. A lot of the freedom has been stripped away and there's no daily life section of the game, but I'm pretty impressed. Also the new characters are really likable so far. My only complaints so far are that I've had a crash where I lost about an hour of progress and best girl Kawakami not being in the game.

Acronis comes to mind, or things akin to snapshots on linux. I do believe windows has this feature by default though! With a folder's history.

Yup, but I read middling reviews on it, mainly UI (ah) and , I quote :
'Typically if you are the target of a ransomware, the Windows 10 Backup may not be very useful to you : backups will probably be crypted.'
I'm not sure I understand, or in what way other solutions would be different, but hey...

Trying EaseUS Todo Backup. Full of ads and don't even tell me the total space of what I want to be backed up, marvelous.

Anyone know how to add region locked free-to-play games to Steam account?

Been trying to use the "Install" button but nothing is happening.
You don't.

:(
I actually managed to do so with PSO2. At Steam launch, it was still region locked for me. All I did was turning on VPN and install from Steamdb. After that, the game is registered to my account and I don't need VPN anymore. The method worked for my friend that I brought to the game too. Not sure if it'd work for every game though.

For some one like me that will maybe play a game for less than an hour at times, that can be pretty bad actually. Luckily I was able to get to the save point and stuff in the game. But the exit option was still not available.

I know that there are some people like me that will buy a game and maybe play it for 30 or less minutes and then have to start all over because in some games they don't have a save option (not even an auto save option) until well over an hour into the game. The menu thing still doesn't make sense as to why it would be locked out especially if you wanted to change graphic stuff. But then again this game was not made with PC in mind? So PC features like that would not be it's top priority.

For me it just says "pause" and that's it.

By the way the game looks very muddy.

I'm not sure why that is, since it should be using vector art just like P5 it should be able to upscale to 1440p without much issue but that's not the case and stuff like the character portraits during talking parts don't look sharp.

Also there is an aliasing issue, as an example when the police investigator are having a meeting the lady in the back looks a fuzy and not sharp with clearly defined shapes.

By the way what does rendering 2.0 do?

Also in glad that I beat P5 Vanilla last year so I understand what's going on in this game but sadly that will not be the case for other playing the game.

I have done a similar thing with the Dead or Alive waifu game. However, I have had no success for games which require a Chinese or Turkish VPN.

Plus, it is not easy to find a Chinese VPN: there is none with my preferred tool (ProtonVPN), and I do not fully trust other tools.

I can't believe how well the LOTR movies still holds up. Im rewatching some scenes to see what I can use for my teaching class on monday and the movie has aged like fine wine.

The charges or rohirrim
"For Frodo"
"I can't carry it for you, but I can carry you, cmon"
"You bow to noone"

The movies are so damn good.

I wish there were some good video games based on LOTR. I was never very fund of the WB games.
The Battle for Middle Earth RTS games from EA were good, although I don't know if they are available for sale anymore.

This has been known for a while but a lot of people still have the wrong impression. It's a straight up sequel, just with a different battle system.

Yeah, Acronis is something of an "Enterprise" and "B2B" solution. Understand, gouges the hell out of customers because they have money :p.

Either way, well, if the drive is available to ransomware, I don't really see that there's a solution other than air-gapping the backup that could prevent that.

In all cases I'd say that incremental snapshots are a thing most file systems and OS should provide natively, so... I feel rather iffy about paying at all for it. There has to be a free solution honestly.

Oh wow, thanks. I knew that the day you get the games had changed but not the day they charge you. This has to be a way to sucker people into getting charged unknowingly, right? Between that and that thing about someone getting their classic plan revoked because of too much pausing, it seems to me like they must not be doing too well these days. Almost like their bundles have been consistently shit or something!
The choices have been consistently pretty good, imo, although not every month was to my taste and I'm looking at it from a classic subscriber point of view.
I buy most of them. They barely have any regular bundles I'm interested in anymore though.

Yeah, partly due to OCD maybe, but the more I dig the more I'm lost. EaseUS Todo Backup took hours to create the backup, and when I tried an incremental backup I canceled when it was telling me it would take one more hour. Not even sure it would have been the final duration.
I just need a solution to locally backup some directories, the most important of which is my Calibre Folder (my mum would forgive me for losing that one, maybe, in case of a fire ? :astonished-face:) and Family Pics, that's all.

Sooooooo

What is a good alternative to last pass now?
I've been using Bitwarden for a couple of years now. I ditched 1Password for one reason or another, and this is what I settled on. It's not quite as slick as LastPass and 1Password as far as UI goes, and it ran like shit on Mac, but I'm a Windows and Android user now and it works well on those OSes.

Today I booted up something that Steam says I haven't played since 2016.

Defense Grid: The Awakening!

Such a cozy feeling to return to a game from so long ago. It's been in my Steam library since 2010, and before that I am quite certain I had a "High Seas" edition. I mean, I remember playing this back in my uni days.

Today, I blazed through the first third of the levels in one sitting, immediately remembering how to play and utilize the different towers in the game.

It also reminded me of the Steam sales back in the day. Remember?

When during a Winter Sale, there were different games on sale each day, and there were so few deals, they were all collected in some sort of flip-book that you could flip through. Each game had like one page in the book were it was described with what I believe was a sale specific description, and not the regular store page description.

Talk about hoping for deals and scouring the store, checking each deal (to be honest, we're there even 20-30 deals a day?).

Compare that to today during a sale were you open up your wishlist and see 90% of it on sale, and the hard part is to decide what to choose to buy.

Not complaining per se, just reminiscing about the olden days...

Diablo II remaster looks nice but will anyone care to replay it after still playing it for decades? Maybe on console. Or if it's playable with a gamepad on PC. I still have it installed and finished it on normal a while ago and am up to Act 2 on Nightmare but probably won't go back again. At least they don't seem to be totally botching it like Warcraft 3 though. I wonder if the CG is redone or it's just gonna be remastered. It could go either way if redone. Rogue class in DIV looks nice, the game itself looks pretty nice too, kind of more active and actiony like Lost Ark (but not that crazy/cool) rather than clicky click. I want Lost Ark but not p2w.

The game's Anti-Aliasing isn't very good. Reshade's SMAA does a better job. Also, if you want clearer text & UI, you're gonna have to turn off AA.

No AA:

In-game AA:

SMAA:
Personally, I'm using Reshade's SMAA. It does muddy the text a bit, but I'd gladly take that over the aliasing, especially around the text boxes because they're animated.

This is how it looks in motion with no AA:

Rendering Scale is SSAA. 2.0 = 2 times your current resolution. It only applies to 3D objects.
