Reinstalling Duolingo, because it will work this time ! For sure :loudly-crying-face:
And while we are at it I would like to speak Portuguese too. Thanks.
I'm almost hitting 1 year of using Duolingo and it's helping me improving my understanding of Spanish.

Also good luck with learning Portuguese it's a nice language.

The sweet, sweet taste of vengeance :coffee-blob:
Careful now, easter's coming and I do tend to overindulge in the holy days.

edit: ok controller works after almost an hour. great progress!
edit 2: in case anybody finds this in 2025 and is like "What! WHAT is the answer!" The solution is simple.
1. Watch endless youtube videos,
2. Read tutorials then scroll up and find that they're from 2015,
3. Reinstall the whole fucking thing and try again. Then it will just work
.

If I'm not wrong, R.O.M. had a few in-universe similarities/cross-over with VA-11 Hall-A?
Technically they both share the same universe but this was just something that happened after and not during the development of both sort of thing.

I could be wrong but I don't really think that they share anything that is "major" and if you didn't know that they both take place in the same universe it wouldn't take away from your enjoyment of that game.

I was at the chocolate museum in Antwerp. Did you guys know that more than 10% of the chocolate in the world is produced in Belgium?
I was not aware of this but I have heard good things about Belgium chocolate before though.

Another fun fact about chocolate, the Aztec valued Chocolate more than gold.

I can't remember the name but there is a chocolate that's supposed to melt in your mouth and not your hands.

The future of Valve and Steam is an interesting topic for discussion. I think we are a good 15 years away from game streaming becoming viable as a mainstream platform but it seems like it might happen eventually. I feel that the main question is, what is Steam's role in a market where most publishers have their own streaming platforms and those become the main way that people play games?
I think no Streaming service will ever take off unless they incorporate people's existing library.
Sure, you can have mildly successful services who gain strength through some mega-successes that have tens of millions of players but this service will always be centered around that huge game and all other games will be listed as "also on this service"

we will not see a Steam equivalent streaming service that has thousands of games. Unless this service incorporates the backlog of Steam and Console games.

Frankly, their keyboard/button remapping could use some improvements. Sometimes the hotkeys will clash with the actual keyboard input in games that needed it.
I think the problem was pretty much on my end somehow, I'm still not sure what was going on. Now the setup is going ok. Actually it seems way better than the last time I tried it. Or maybe I'm getting used to it.

Steam could still be a major player in the market if Valve go and develop their own game streaming service. Valve do currently partner with GeForce Now so it might not be in their plans. Also Valve looks to be focusing on VR as their future tech and I think that wouldn't be very compatible with cloud streaming.

Major publishers will probably go for a subscription service (Like Game Pass) but their popularity will be determined by price point and how many 3rd party games they can get onto their service.

As for cloud gaming via catalog you own we saw how that went with Stadia. Without carrying over people's current library I think it would have a hard time picking up steam. Valve will probably still have the small publisher/indie market (barring exclusivity streaming deals) if major publishers to restrict streaming to their service only.

Loop Hero and Yakuza are like the perfect gaming pair.

Yakuza for when you want some action and (mostly) brainless fun and Loop Hero for when you want some strategy and optimization.
I think the only type of game that these two are missing is something like what Slay the Spire/Monster Train and FTL/Into the Breach have by being turn based. Maybe this is why I end up liking so many RPGs with turn based battles.

Anything on the Days Gone release date or is it still just "late spring" still, as it's listed on Steam.

In other Destiny news, it seems we are ready to lose another chunk of the game:

I haven't bought Beyond Light because of this vaulting bullshit, judging by what they say I'm literally done with this game.
Yeah, this is the most bullshit system in an online game ever. Did they not aware that there are dozens of 10+ year old MMOs running on ancient engine with countless of updates and expansions and yet they still manage to retain everything today?

As far as I know Sony hasn't said anything more about Days Gone since the announcement and the store page went up.
I'd say Days Gone is a late april release because it would be exactly 2 years after it first released on the PS4. Hopefully we'll get further news on the other "slate" of ports around that time.

Also wouldn't it be funny if the "whole slate of ports" turned out to be MLB The Show 14' - 20' lmao.

I've liked Destiny in the past, but I've also refused to pay for their expansions because of crap like this -- it seems like they just make it up as they go along. Beyond Light wasn't exactly cheap, and it was recent, so it's pretty awful they're already talking about shelving it. They just seem like gross money grubbers. No thanks. It's too bad, because the moment to moment gameplay is so fun.

When HareBrained Scheme gonna announce something?
This is a great question. I believe they've said they weren't doing Battletech 2 (and I am personally very sad about that, SHOW ME THAT STIENER AND FED SUN MARRIAGE), which then leads you to wonder if they are doing Shadowrun again or something else completely. I think there's tons of merit in a Battletech 2 that is done in a Paradox game (a la Stellaris or Crusader Kings) way. A base game with TONS of interesting DLC. But I could see lots of different things working that way too.

I am interested to see. They have been hitting home runs with me for a while now. Every game of theirs since Dragonfall has been awesome.

Why Steam is important for MS:

Literally ALL those regions that had regional pricing (I know a lot of regions didn't get it, just highlighting it).
Horizon Zero Dawn was also a massive success thanks to regional pricing as well.

TL;DR - Publisher severely undermine importance of fair and consistent regional pricing.

Indonesia is actually 2nd below Russia if we're not including the main markets (US/UK), somehow didn't even get a mention.

Russia: 13.02%
United States: 12.50%
United Kingdom: 7.29%
Indonesia: 5.73%
Argentina: 5.21%
Turkey: 4.69%
China: 4.69%

Base game is $17 here, and yeah, I saw lots of my friends bought it.

Not chocolate as we know it today (this was actually created in Belgium) but yes, the Aztec used cacao beans as a currency.

The museum has lots of these fun facts, but what I remember most is that eating chocolate actually makes you feel happy. Now I finally have an excuse to justify my addiction 😁

I can't remember the name but there is a chocolate that's supposed to melt in your mouth and not your hands.
That would be M&M's. Those are more sugar than chocolate tho.

Anyone want to get the Hitman 2 coop sniper map achievements at some point in the next 3 hours or sometime this coming week? I need them too: Steam Community :: Stallion Free
Since I'm doing hitman 2 as well right now, might as well do these achievements too. so, yeah, lets do them sometime this week. I'm usually available after 17.00 Berlin time. I'll add you on Steam (my name's "***", easily recognizable :p )

Isn't Pathfinder really goddamn long?
Well, it's adapted from a whole pen & paper campaign (the most well regarded from Pathfinder IIRC), comprised of six small books. Depending on the faithfulness of the conversion, I can imagine it to be very long indeed.

It is, but I got stumped on a puzzle piece, and then my motivation fell off. It being long was actually part of the appeal to me, that feeling of a journey. The issue is that this length is peppered with small design errors that make it sometimes hard to stick with it.

If the games industry has taught me anything, it's that the upper bound is the de facto target for date brackets.

Somewhere else
Does anyone use Microsoft Edge? The Steam website behaves strangely with it. I'm logged out when i start Edge and visit the Steam store.
When i log back in and close Edge, i am logged out again. If i try it a second time, Steam shows the message "There have been too many login failures from your network in a short time period. Please wait and try again later. "

With Firefox it works without problems.

Play Cold Steel series. They say imitation is the sincerest form of flattery after all.
But I can't ! I know I'm the outlier here, but I couldn't stand speaking to every fucking villager every 5 minutes in the first Trail.
One of my big fail this game, dropped it near the end (the mechanized town), I just couldn't :cryblob:

Outriders is coming to Xbox Game Pass (console and cloud).

Pretty cool. Might as well try it on my One X and see if it's worth buying on Steam or wait for Steam sale.

MS must have paid a pretty penny for that. I had no interest in the game, but I'll now give it a whirl.

Wait, what? You know you don't have to, right? The Sky and Crossbell games are among my favorite games of all time but I didn't go around talking to everyone.

Goddamn this looks so good omg

I'm on episode 7 of wandavision and that shit is blowing my mind, curious to see how this one turns out. It will be way more action oriented, that's for sure.

I do, but I rarely use the steam site, don't remember having any issues when I did, though.
