Wok I will need your help with some of these English awards translations I made. Thanks in advance.

It's Square-Enix. They'll either do nothing, or they'll "fix" the Steam version by putting this new build on the store as a separate release without giving so much as a loyalty discount to existing owners. Your guess is as good as mine as to whether they'll even bother delisting the broken one.

well, since it IS squeenix - they might also just nuke the game from steam altogether and never re-release it there (see: The Last Remnant)

I assume Microsoft paid to get it ported to UWP. To get the features back to Steam, SE would need pay someone to do the work. Which they refuse, so yeah, nothing will happen I assume.
What a bizarre situation.

squeenix gonna squeenix

Has it been deployed? Where can I find this info? Steamdb isn't showing any update.
Here is some info:

Why has Flight Simulator never been on a sale yet.
Too busy price gouging the rest of the world I'd assume.

Seriously, that sim has gone from "I need it" to "I'll get it, maybe, at 10 bucks". Between the 70€ fuck-you tax and the issues with its flight model and systems simulation, I'm more than happy playing something else.
FFVIIR

EGSxclusive
30 fps lock
no intergrade version
1080p max resolution
Controller required, no kb/m support
september 2021
60$/60€

The worst part is, I don't know if this is made up or not. 30fps lock is fishy.

Sorry about that, wrote to fast, the email said 60 fps. Gonna fix the post.
I don't say this often but with such a shit sandwich of a port, the luster of the high seas is looking bright indeed. If they don't give a damn, I don't see why I should.

Seriously, double exclusive period, that's insulting.

It was a joke and a lie, don't know anything about a FFVIIR PC port. :(

What the fuck is this bulls-

Ah okay carry on.

I can't even tell if that was a joke, that was exactly what Epic and SE will do.

I'm really starting to hate the internet. Is it me or is youtube increasingly behaving in a way that is emulating its own browser-like behavior, inside of a browser? If I misclick somewhere, it'll start loading stuff and I can't stop it, I can only patiently wait for it to do something that should take milliseconds while removing even the most basic navigation feature that we've had since Netscape 1.0.

On the other hand, Songs of Syx has had a large update and is looking as promising as ever!
Oh, don't tell me ! The whole EU user experience is slowly but surely becoming a living hell. Each time you browse any website, giant consent popup !
Add to that the new trend of having video pop ups on the lower right of the screen on some site, appearing on each page (Nintendo Everything, Gematsu...)
Profit :suicide-blob:

It truly has reached a point where I wonder why I keep using Internet !

I'd argue it's not just the EU but the web in general. Look at Twitter, how unusable it has become. I blame mobile honestly, and the power big corps realized they have to just not give a fuck and force things on the user.

Oh I just supposed the consent thing was EU exclusive, with good old hell paved with good intent laws.
But yeah, I can easily imagine the state of thing being shit everywhere. Just look at Youtube and Google Image UX.
...
and Youporn ffs :sweaty-blob:

Sites are intentionally doing cookie popups to be annoying as possible so you just start blindly accepting everything.
Shame EU isn't very strict enforcing rules as those could be ruled illegal, as I understand, denying must be as easy as accepting, which almost never is the case.

Interesting. I was of the mind that sites just didn't want to play ball and just threw consent at the user's face to abide by laws. But using this opportunity to throw in some shady consent in there, I could see that now.
Never bet against corporate shittiness :anguished-face:

I think I made a longer post somewhere months ago which was essentially wondering how Geforce Now could even pay for its own upkeep at the previous prices.

Game streaming in general is way more expensive to run than non-interactive streaming, so I believe that basically every single current model (other than maybe renting your own Amazon EC2 GPU instance) is still priced as a loss-leader / to increase user numbers.

I don't want to be a hater, I have nothing against this technology, but I doubt they will be able to attract enough people and keep them subscribed at a more sustainable price. It's still early days for such things, mass adoption wise, I think.

I checked and my general hate for the internet seems to steam from using the ipad, ublock origin seems to do a perfectly good job on the desktop.
So we are back in the eternal dilemma, ios because less shitty privacy, or google for extensions and general openness.

Yep. For 5 bucks a month, I'm not sure I really have a reason to unsub from GFN given the current hardware situation, even with its current limitations.

That being said, I hope they get 4:4:4 support soon.

lmao I honestly can't believe SE fixed NieR Automata for the W10 release when they couldn't be bothered to patch it once on Steam despite excellent reviews and sales

I mean, as a cheapass with a Game Pass subscription who never bought the Steam version because I kept waiting for it to get cheaper or be bundled, this worked out fine for me, but still

I'm pretty sure QLOC would be happy to put that version on Steam too for a negligible (considering how much the game made) extra fee.
I'm honestly half-convinced this is how things will remain. Square couln't be arsed to pay for patches for 4 years, what are the odds of them not penny-pinching here, considering all this was probably paid for by MS?

Geforce Now for $10/month or $100/year

:ripblob:

Noooooooooooooooooooooooo!

The “Founders for Life” benefit provides GeForce NOW users who started a paid Founders membership on or before March 17, 2021 the opportunity to continue to use their Founders membership at its introductory price and plan features without a set end date, so long as NVIDIA offers the GeForce NOW service in your country.

To keep this benefit, you must maintain an on-going paid Founders membership without interruption and that requires, as examples, that you keep your payment information current and make timely payments, and that you use the service in accordance with the terms of use.

If for any reason your paid Founders membership ends, you make a billing modification, downgrade or if there is a termination, the benefit is forfeited and cannot be restarted.

considering all this was probably paid for by MS?
the post mentions it was specifically requested by Platinum .... why does everyone keeps claiming Xbox paid for it?

this is so annoying .... why does square always do stuff like this :dizzy-face:
reminds of the mess around DQ9 ,where neither of the two version is ideal

here we have a "a bit better port but on Appx/UWP" vs "old shitty port with mod that significantly improves things "

Each of them with own set of issues and advantages , but ultimately no definiteve way to play :notlikethisblob:

Because someone mentioned how MS were the ones who usually lent their support to publish game on their store/GP. Sorry if I was wrong, but then that makes it way worse. What took Platinum so fucking long then?

Are you also saying that crashes and internal resolution aren't actually fixed by the QLOC port? :/.

On a side-note, I have noticed a slight downgrade of Geforce Now, both of the connection (packet loss, which makes the game behave as if I held the button) and of the machine (lower framerate at times, maybe 10 fps less than before) for the past few days.

Maybe it is my imagination, or maybe a power downgrade is concomitant with the increased price to lower the costs.
