Origin is fine for me for the last 18 months at least. There again i only have a few games on Origin, no friend activity etc so i'd expect it to be quick.
I'm not looking forward to being forced to use this EA Desktop app in the future. It's sounds bad but maybe it'll be fixed by the time they force everyone onto it. I've no interest in EA Play, chievos or social stuff as i don't play MP and none of my friends have bothered contacting me about my EA account or whatever.

Steam is the only PC platform i have friends on.
I have friends on Steam, Origin, UPlay and GOG and one on EGS. :p

However most of them mainly use Steam.

This is Atlus and Sega we're talking about. It'll be $60 along with awful regional pricing.
I'm basing it on the Japanese price. Nocturne is not a full price release.

Compared to P5S

Thought about skipping this month's Humble Choice after all. Then they went and offered me a discount and I couldn't refuse :blobmorning2:

I was messing around with Control on Game Pass for a little while, and it turns out you can't switch between DX11 and DX12 modes on that version of the game because reasons. Good stuff. At least I'll be able to do that on the Steam version. Also, how crazy is it that the GP download of Control is 60 GBs, but on Steam it's just 24? I want to like Microsoft's service, but stuff like this makes it really challenging.

Edit: And, while installing FH4 went just fine, the download for Control slowed down to a few kbps after it got to like 70%, so I paused it and when I wanted to restart the download it suddenly said that the game was ready to play. What was it downloading before I paused it? Why wasn't it marked as complete when it was complete? So many questions.

As much progress as the Xbox team has been making on the PC side of things, I get the feeling that it all being a part of Microsoft's weird distribution system is always going to hold Game Pass back.

Time to post a link to "Is There Any Deal", it's the site i check first for prices and i think they only use "reputable" sellers and don't list grey marketplaces.

Is There Any Deal - PC Digital Deals and Prices
I use gg.deals to check prices. It lists most sellers even key resellers, but you can opt it out

So with the differences I never knew about on other store fronts like Deus Ex Mankind Divided having no Denuvo on GOG. I know, it's GOG, so duh. Is there a list of games that are superior than their steam counterparts at other storefronts?

I've been playing some Euro Truck Simulator 2 to relax the last couple of evenings.

Does anyone here have any experience of using apps that turn your smartphone into a steering wheel?
Update on this:

New thought:
Can you use Steam Link Remote Touch Controller with gyro and just shut off the audio/video streams to the phone?

Needs investigating...

Yes, it's a P5Strikers situation.
Well, if it ain't, I know who to blame! :p

For version differences between stores, I'd say it's best to check the PC gaming wiki. No specific list as to which version is better, but maybe you can find something else here.

I'm not saying that WFH doesn't translate in loss in productivity - but I don't know that it does either. I'll just say that games have always had delays and it's hard to really tell what the root cause is.

Still, from what I've seen, one of the issues of WFH is that games are endeavors that thrive on communication and quick exchanges, and WFH isn't the best for that.

Any creative work relies on communication. Sure i can be architect at home and alone but it is always nice to be part of the team where you can talk about project and ideas on the fly. It is always nice when coworker that passes by your desk and looks at your works says some minor thing that lights your lightbulb. And in the end humans are social creatures and sitting at 4 same walls alone impacts you one way or another.

Also

We don’t tend to focus too much on these things publicly, but I’m really proud of what the team has made and it’s not often you get to celebrate these achievements, so I just wanted to share with you the exciting news that sales of The Long Dark have now surpassed 5-million units, with another 3.5-million active players coming to us through Xbox GamePass and the Epic Game Store (through the free give-away there at Christmas), bringing the total to over 8.5-million players to date.

Well that was a blast. Against all comers was def the best achievement and one of the most fun missions in the game. The kodama collection the worst for sure mehh. Also reached only level 502 in my playthrough. Not gonna go for the 750 cap..just seems too tedious even with the underworld fun.

Anyways what a great game. My favorite souls like and exactly what I needed with the long silence of Elden Ring.

Def doing the DS trilogy one more time leading up to ER.

motivated me to get the last couple achievements today, thanks :)

Life is Strange is one of my favourite games of all time, but the sequel was underwhelming. I'm sorry.
Nothing to apologise for. I never even bothered finishing 2 - I've never seen a finer example of a developer completely failing to realise what was so compelling about their own game.

Deck Nine seem to understand LiS1 better than Dontnod, so the series is in good hands with True Colors.

I haven't played either LiS yet even though i own them but i think a lot of people's preferences for either one are based on what they wanted from the games and their own experiences rather than either game being "better" than the other. Obviously that's just based on online discussions i've seen so i may be wrong but it doesn't seem like either game is bad they just hit differently to different people.

I'll get around to playing them someday this year... hopefully.

late on replying (i've been out and catching up now) but I was pretty unimpressed with DL
My main issue is that it's not that fluid. At least not fluid as Mirrors Edge that is still gold standard for first person parkour in my opinion.

Also i am kinda surprised with lack of gaming leaks with all this WFH thing.
