Giant Bomb at the moment is Jeff, Jan, Jason and Rorie with Jeff Bakalar and Danny O'Dwyer turning up when they can.
I expect Jeff is taking time to work out what they want to do next and how to move forward with it.

edit: Thanks to BlueOdin for confirming i'd got Danny and Jeff B's surnames wrong! :D

Phew... 45 hs later, finished Days Gone. Some ups and downs but overall I really like it. My only complaints would be the use of lot of cliches on the story, and that the game could probably use another "editor" pass to fix the pacing, trim some content and fix a lot of story inconsistencies. Oh.. and fuck that fuel system in the beginning :p

Port is waaaaay better when compared to Horizon. I did have two crashes but I was alt-tabbing a lot when it happened. The rest of the bugs I came across were the typical logic/physics thing of open worlds.

Overall, had a great time. Not bad for a platform going through a "dark age".

why did every developer suddenly decide "lets make a fucking city builder" all of a sudden
jesus christ

Also a reverse city builder would be destroying it

Same as why every developer has decided to make a tycoon game. The sucess of the citybuilders and tycoon in the 2014 awoke some devs into its viability, which caused a first wave of new games featuring more innovative citybuilders / tycoons (instead of just pure nostalgic style games) in 2016-2018, which then created a continuous golden era as sales continue to be quite good and developers are able to create their more unique ideas.

Not huge on trad. city builders like SimCity or Skylines, but when you start throwing Logistics, Tycoon & Colony Management into the mix, that s**t's my jam.

Simply can't get enough RimWorld, Factorio, Transport Fever, Two Point Hospital and the dozens of other similar titles in that school.

Easily one of my all-time favorite "genres" of the past number of years.

They're making it from a reverse bad game, so it will clearly be a great game in the end as well

Rimworld is more of a God Game than a city builder, as you can only really slighly influence the NPCs to do what you want. I think the name for the specific branc is Colony Sims nowadays after Dwarf Fortress CLones went off?

But yeah, what we have also seen is more intermixing of genres and more fluid barriers of content. For instance the major thing of new city builders is a much more "vs environment" feeling, as shown in Suviving ___ and Frostpunk.

That can't be right. Being rational about it, does anyone know anything about these sorts of electronics that could shed some light on this?

Please elaborate
What is it ? Early access already purchase worthy ?
Yes it's EA and yes it's 100% purchase worthy.

The best way I could describe it is that it feels like a Complete Package (tm.). Like the devs have the craft & care to look at every element of design and infuse it with a level of polish & TLC that's incredibly admirable.

It comes across in every element you look at, whether it's the bright, colorful visuals, satisfying UI navigation & design, smart progression loop, "just right" power-curve, the butter-smooth game engine that they built from scratch (lightning-fast startup & load times on my HDD impressed). And much, much more.

One tiny example that explains it all. So one of the accessibility options is a toggle to change the Shift to sprint from hold-down to just tap once to keep running. There's no stamina meter so when you start you can sprint for as long as you want. Cool. But what I noticed was that when you stop by letting your finger off the WASD directional keys you still have a 2 second window to press back down on the directional keys to keep sprinting without having to hit the Shift key again. This is perfect if you get accidentally stopped by a terrain object or you're just picking up a loot item off the ground.

It's a small thing but the devs were thinking of character momentum & game flow when they coded that in. It's something I've never seen before and it really speaks to the level of fine-detail that they're operating from.

I'm over 75 hours in and have only uncovered about 25% of the map (though complete deforestation is part of my gameplay style, lol). Content updates are on a regular & consistent 2 week cycle, give or take.

It's a lighthearted take on zombie survival games with an inviting tone yet deceptively deep game systems. Balances arcade action & depth pretty darn well so it feels fresh but isn't "lite".

HIGHLY recommended.

(Been meaning to drop a Steam review, so I'll just use this. :p )

That cable thing reminds me of the cost of WMR controllers. 100 dollars per controller, for something that feels like Madcatz made it.

Okay so YosP (he is in charge of Indies on PlayStation) is really into indie games and had done multiple projects and stuff to help them over the years.

Remember that one tweet about the PS Indie store only having well known indie games? I'm guessing that has a lot more to do with the PS structure then it does with YosP and indie games. I read this one Japanese Interview he did last month and a lot of what he said lines up with what Indie devs from Japan have mentioned.

There will always be tons of games that release but only some of those would be eligibility to be chosen on PS compared to N/S which already has saturation issues.

I finished planning my playtime for this month. Going to swap between Just Cause 3 and Iris and the Giant. Now let's try to stick to the plan.

I guess they really hate the Life of Black Tiger meme.
