BUT OH MY GOD That square presentation was ruined by FF Origins
What does "recoupable advance" mean?[Hidden content]
Money someone pays you in advance to do something, like make a game. What does "recoupable advance" mean?
How does that relate to CP2077 on EGS?Money someone pays you in advance to do something, like make a game.
They give you cash for something you will do in the future and then when you sell the thing they take the money they advanced you first and then whatever the contract says applies to the rest of it.
Epic paid them 500k to bring CP2077 to EGS.How does that relate to CP2077 on EGS?
So noone bought the game there?Epic paid them 500k to bring CP2077 to EGS.
Not enough to make EGS recoup at least. So noone bought the game there?
fwiw, they said they’d be showing a few previously announced games and never promised anything beyond thatOh wow, the Capcom stream was fucking awful. Even worse than Square-Enix. They literally had nothing new. Updates to a bunch of stuff and ended on Street Fighter esports lmao.
Whoever said 3rd party dev/publishers shouldnt have conferences was right. They just don't have enough to talk about to sustain these show, and capcom was only like 20 minutesCapcom:
Feels good when your only expectation from E3 is ONE game.Kamiya is busy with Project G.G And he's never directed the same game twice. It's like his motto, or something.
SMT V release date is all I want; even if it's December 31.
Fair enough but none of this justified hosting their own show. This is all info they could've delivered through the usual channels lol.fwiw, they said they’d be showing a few previously announced games and never promised anything beyond that
But I got quite a lot of games I wantedFeels good when your only expectation from E3 is ONE game.
Well, it's pretty evident now what E3 has turned into for most corpos. Updates on existing games and soon to be released content, TV shows & movies.Fair enough but none of this justified hosting their own show. This is all info they could've delivered through the usual channels lol.
Yeah, tbh I didn't really have any specific expectations. I was just hoping for something. A new game announcement, a new trailer for that weird sci-fi game they announced last year, a confirmation for Monster Hunter Rise's PC port. Literally any one of these things wouldn't been enough for me not to feel like I wasted my time lol.I figured with Capcom level setting ahead of time, I went in with low expectations, but I still had a tiny bit of hope for something. I suppose the RE8 dlc was still a nice tiny surprise, it is just too far out to be excited.
I expected very little, like some minor remaster announcement or some shit, not literally "set up a stream to show you trailers you've already seen"I figured with Capcom level setting ahead of time, I went in with low expectations, but I still had a tiny bit of hope for something. I really hope Zero isn't a permanent exclusiveMore importantly.
You will get a 60$ remaster of a 10 year old Zelda game and you will like it.This E3 has been dreadful.
Nintendo save us.
Hey now. Nintendo might give us a $60 ROM dump of 15-35 year old Zelda games too.You will get a 60$ remaster of a 10 year old Zelda game and you will like it.
Zero may be an exclusive but I think that's because of the engineering behind it. Or something like that.I expected very little, like some minor remaster announcement or some shit, not literally "set up a stream to show you trailers you've already seen"

I played the demo for a bit, it has potential though I was getting mad screen tearing in fullscreen.Pokemon? Wait no
Demo available:
No no no, not at all!You say that like it was a bad thing? Konami E3 2010 is one of the most legendary conferences ever!
Something else I just want to say about this which makes this comment even more egregious, is Valheim launched in Alpha back in 2018 on itch, and no one cared. That potential audience you get launching on Steam is huge30% this, Valve doing nothing that, and Cohh even implied that Valve "stole" 30% from the Valheim devs.
DIGITAL GAMES MARKET BOOMING: KALYPSO LOWERS PRICES AND PASSES SAVING TO FANS
New policy in effect with pre-order for upcoming fantasy title Disciples: Liberation
The Kalypso Media Group has today announced a new price reduction policy for all of its titles moving forward. The policy arrives as a result of constant shifts in the video games marketplace, a further move toward digital sales, and the noticeable and ongoing effects of the COVID-19 pandemic. Kalypso has confirmed that its sales are doing well and that, moving forward, the resulting profit margins will be passed directly back to the players in the form of a lower baseline price for all titles.
“We have been able to increase our digital sales and, above all, margins in recent months, while physical sales in traditional retail have slumped due to the COVID-19 situation. Currently, we do not expect this trend to reverse even after the pandemic. Most of our fans buy or stream games, primarily, digitally, so it is very likely that sales of physical products will continue to decline, saving us costs in manufacturing, logistics and distribution,” said Simon Hellwig, CEO of Kalypso.
In the past, new release games from the publisher have launched with a recommended retail price of €49.99/$49.99/£44.99 for PC and €59.99/$59.99/£54.99 for consoles.
“We would like to reward the loyalty of the community by partially passing on the higher margins as part of permanent price reductions,” said Dr. Anika Thun, Global Marketing Director at Kalypso, adding that “the entry price of a full-price product in the standard edition will be no higher than €39.99/$39.99/£34.99 for PC and €49.99/$49.99/£44.99 for consoles on launch day. In due course, we will also be reducing the prices of current top sellers such as Tropico 6, Port Royale 4 and Spacebase Startopia.
Included in the reductions is the publisher’s upcoming dark fantasy strategy title Disciples: Liberation which, alongside the most recent iteration of the company’s flagship franchise Tropico 6, stands as the largest Kalypso production to date. PC pre-orders for the game are now live at the Kalypso Store for 15% off, as well as Steam and the Epic Games Store at 10% off. The ‘Standard Edition’ of Disciples: Liberation set to release in Q4 of 2021 for €39.99/$39.99/£34.99 on PC and €49.99/$49.99/£44.99 on consoles.
Customers will also be able to purchase the ‘Deluxe Edition’ of the game for €49.99/$49.99/£44.99 (PC) or €59.99/$59.99/£54.99 (console) with additional bonus content.
“Disciples: Liberation is an expansive and content-packed title which would justify a much higher retail price. However, we believe that despite high production values, we are right with our pricing policy and can continue to inspire our community for Kalypso products,” adds Hellwig.
Kalypso has implemented the price reductions from 1 June, 2021 and will continue to roll out the policy as more products are launched.
