I'm having a hell of a good time on Warframe. I know this game is going to turn its coat on me at some point and try to stab my soul with endless grind but so far, between the Orokin environment I just discovered and the fucking Archwing it's a freaking blast. A game this weird has no right being so fun.

Also... I'm really sorry for John McAfee. Nobody should pass like this, though his life certainly is... questionable at best.

Warframe in my opinion is REALLY good until endgame because... well, it basically lacks of one. Eidolon hunting was cool but not much more

Any opinion on Cozy Grove? I think someone bought it some time ago.
I see the majority of negative reviews are about the Animal Crossing style time progression, but for me it's not a problem. What I didn't understand is if you can still do stuff when finishing the "main quests" for the day (like I don't know, fishing or collecting stuff).

So... how many of the 1010 copies sold for the Epic Bundle is Sweeney spamming Humble Bundle accounts? :) Even forgetting the EGS thing, what a bad bundle.

Also..... I'm trying to help my brother and nephew buy their first (and cheap) gaming PC and I can see why people can find it a little complex...specially because they are going with Intel (cheaper here). The different sockets between generations, different max memory speed depending on the chipset, one M.2 slot that doesn't work if you use a B560 board with a 10xxx processor, and so on. Thank god for pcpartpicker.... because I got a really big sigh when said you need to also check if the cpu cooler fits inside the case :p

I feel like so many games are already on sale or coming out during the summer sale. I wish I knew if games like Cozy Grove, State of Decay 2, and Snowrunner were going to re-up their current offerings when the sale goes live. I wanted to see summer sale prices before buying anything.

Also did not budget for Scarlet Nexus and I am really surprised at the reviews. :thinking-face:

Is there anything left on the list of things Sweeney originally said that EGS would never do because they devalue games?

If the past few years of Summer Seals are any indication, the discounted price on Steam is probably as good as it's going to get. For certain games which are available on 3rd party stores, they might be offering a better discount though. I remember GMG has some good deals on more popular games right after Steam Seal finishes.

Amen brother!

I’m addicted to Biomutant and it’s sidequests. Holy shit there are so many.. oh so fucking many sidequests and yes I know I’m repeating myself as I’ve posted this before but it’s addicting. Game may not be perfect and a little repetitive but god damn I love the game

I hope folks give the game a chance and not skip it based on reviews

Really fun adventure game, lots of exploration and simple puzzle solving, plus the world looks beautiful. I’ve put a little over 40 hours into it and still really enjoying my time and in no rush to finish like I find myself doing with games over 30 hours

Phantom Abyss looks dope as hell.

It's a solo Indiana Jones traversal rogue that also runs ghosts of other players in real-time.

If you nab the treasure the route is shut down forever.

Clean & sharp minimalist presentation.
Was looking at the reviews for this sucker and seen that someone mentioned that if you subscribe to Rock Paper Shotgun for a premium month for $7.99 US you will get a Steam key. Not a bad deal at all

Become a premium RPS supporter and get a copy of Phantom Abyss, out today

Seems like epic leaked NISA's Kiseki plans

:face-savouring-delicious-food::face-savouring-delicious-food:
lets hope for Durante ports

Zero : EpicData - Epic Games data tracker
Azure: EpicData - Epic Games data tracker
Nayuta: EpicData - Epic Games data tracker
Reverie (i presume thats Hajimari judging by the logo) ???? EpicData - Epic Games data tracker
Looks like the EGS is good for something after all.

Neat. So maybe I'll wait with playing the fantranslations for Zero and Azure (at least until we know what these versions are and the timeframe) :thinking-face:
Though I feel like there's a good chance the fantranslations will be better (though I don't know the NISA translations for the trails games and haven't actually played the fantranslations either, so maybe I'm totally off the mark here).
Maybe they'll license/buy them (however that works for something like this) and just use 'em.

Wow, that would be amazing. I really don't assume their translation of Zero or Azure will come close to what Geofront accomplished, but it would be great to have the complete series in the West, both on PC and consoles.
The world needs more Trails in it.

But it's kinda amazing that NISA copied the Geofront names for these games: "from Zero" and "to Azure". Bodes well.

Neat. So maybe I'll wait with playing the fantranslations for Zero and Azure (at least until we know what these versions are and the timeframe) :thinking-face:

Almost no chance of that happening. There's legal issues with using the fantranslation, as you have like multiple groups involved, and some of them have even clearly said they'd never agree to license it out to anyone. NISA would start from scratch.
The best you could hope for is someone else porting the Geofront translations to the NISA one, but even that's a tall order as they'd likely use the KAI versions and there'd be lots of reverse engineering and modding involved to get the Geofront version working there, especially if you care about more than just the script, such as the quality of live improvements Geofront added.

Poor Falcom. To get it all spoiled by a half-assed store.

I can't believe I waited so long to play Descenders. What a wonderful game. Oh it's made by the Action Henk folks? What is wrong with me.

Well with the news of the missing Trails games getting translated and whatnot, looks like I might make the effort to grab Cold Steel 2 and 3 in the upcoming sale.

Tempted to pre-order a JRPG, but can't make my mind up between Scarlett Nexus or YS 9. How dependant is YS 9 on knowledge of the previous games?

Frigging hell....

This is why I hate games that are made around modern conflicts. Not only are the politics extremely wrong (anybody not American/Western are evil scum, guns solve all problems and so on) but there are many people who have died to these conflicts.

Thats why I tend to stick to Aliens/Nazis/Zombies.

Only exception to this is Spec Ops: The Line. Which only compounded my feelings on modern war games.

That depends purely on who makes the games. There are games like Syrian Warfare where the party commonly considered evil by the West (Syrian government) are the "good guys" alongside Russians. It just so happens vast majority of games are made in Western countries (Japan doesn't really make military games), so they portray themselves as the good guys. Nothing strange about it.

Also, for some reason there's never really an outrage when games allow you to play as Soviets in WW2 games, even though they terrorized half the Europe and even their own country. There's a reason why countries like Latvia and Estonia had prominent Waffen SS units, and it was hardly because they loved Hitler or hated Jews - they simply already had a taste of what Soviet rule is like and felt that they have better chances under Germans. I'm not one to cry over playable Soviets in games, even though they fucked up my country (and even my city in particular - it was used to train for the siege of Berlin, so it was quite literally leveled to the ground with artillery), but the double standards are annoying as hell (not only when it comes to Germans in WW2 games, but also recently with Six Days in Fallujah).

Ffs, I get over my inertia, try My Time at Portia and… I’m not sold.

Hard to articulate the feeling, let’s put it that way: I’m very much more playing in accordance to the mechanics than because I’m transported to another world. I had heard of an awful grind but it certainly doesn’t help that the first few projects are relatively demanding and multi days affairs. Meaning, as soon as the game starts you have to face the grind, you don’t have the leisure to let the world sinks in with super basic projects.

"We are Delta Force and we're here to help" spoken sarcastically by the "enemy" was a fantastic line.

You are correct here. It appears that game making follows the same rules as "History is written by the Victors" mentality. Or in this case History is written by the country of the developers.

We are still close too these conflicts (and some still active/living with the fallout of the wests assistance) for anything resembling nuance.

The Russians in games is another quagmire that very few developers have the compentancy to cover. Most Western games tend to treat them as the heros, when it was far more complicated than that (much like most of World War 2). Unfortunately, being English, the history I was taught about WW2 was very much of the sanitised version. Over the years I have learnt more and more of what you could call the real history and even then it still tends to be the sanitised western version.

This all leads to me avoiding modern warfare games. Hell, even the WW2 stuff tends more towards the Alternate History stuff like Wolfenstein or Singularity.

Try doing that when the game crashes randomly between 5minutes and 2 hours. I restarted that game so many times i'm sick of the intro.

Anyway, what you're experiencing is the point of a lot of those style games. They are meant to be played daily/frequently for a while per-session. They're not really games designed to be done quickly. So, there is a lot of gatekeeping of content meant to draw things out and make progess seem meaningful.
that said, find a guide for Portia and you can get a lot of things done in a quick time if you just want to blast through the game.

If you just want story and chill time then there's always WeMod or CheatEngine to give you the gold to just buy stuff.
