Just so you know and others playing who don't know.
Unless you have the Lunar item Shaped Glass, you have 1 hit protection as long as you're above 90% HP if I recall. (you can see the section when you look at the left of the healthbar).

Most seemingly 1 hits happen by DOT effects like burns. Or getting unlucky and hit by 2 enemies at basically the same time.

EDIT: worded the HP backwards.
Whaaaat? I had no idea! Does that mean I have some invincibility frames while I'm over 90% HP and an enemy deals a lethal blow (leaving me with 1 HP I imagine)? I could swear I've been one-shotted a few times, especially during the Mithrix fight. He killed me in 1 hit with both his falling attack (I didn't realize I was standing in the middle of the arena) and his hammer attack. Didn't check if I had less than 90% HP on any of those occasions, so that may have been the case. It's still a huge amount of damage for 1 attack, I think.

GOTY just dropped!!!

Nice to know Typing of the Dead got a sequel!

GOTY just dropped!!!

This is how I learned how to type fast as a kid. The previous Steam version had no games for whatever reason, but this one seems to have 'em. Wishlist time.

I hope game pass PC works for The Ascent, the price is somewhat high, so I wanna try it out on game pass for a few min before deciding if Im getting it day 1 or later on sale.

Like I downloaded Phog yesterday on PC game pass to try it out and see if it's worth a buy, but no matter what I did the game didn't wanna open, so I had to use my Xbox to try it out. Fucking ridiculous.

My main problem with game pass is that it is a rental service and I wanna play games at my own pace. All the technical issues are secondary. Still, would be very nice not to worry about something fucking up.

A bit ironic is that at the start, when game pass PC was introduced a long time ago, I didn't have the problems I've come across for the past year or so, things worked, didn't even have downloading issues that I know a ton of people have had for a long time. Like I felt lucky that I never had any problems downloading Gears 4, FH3, FH4 etc. whey they releases long time ago.

It's like the more features, the more MS is updating the app, sysem and services on PC, the more problems are introduced.

What is the other one?

You could play Katana Zero on Game Pass, or buy it on Steam.

The other one was Wish, which I'm sure many won't be surprised by being bad, but based on the reviews I was really hoping for an actually decent match-3 game (I'd had an itch for a good RPG-esque match-3 lately), which it wasn't. Not that I don't appreciate lewd stuff (I do) but the game was what I was more interested in and it just wasn't fun.

I've played Katana Zero, loved it. I still have it installed to replay it someday if my backlog ever dies down (I think I've made progress this year?). And there's definitely more room for games like that, I just don't think Lithium City is worth the time, even more than the money, it just wasn't holding together past the first few levels (which were great).

I have considered that yes, still have yet to find out what it is.

But it doesn't matter much, at the end of the day, I don't like renting games.

Damn, Visage is scary and it isn't even in VR. Manged 12 min before I had to quit. Really good game though.

Zero Ranger or Devil Engine?
Which one is closer to a traditional shump than a bullet hell?
Both games are closer to a "traditional" Shump. Devil Engine only has a few bullet hell section though, but it's mostly downplayed.

I do have the luxury of 2 friends who play as well. I can usually rope them in to helping out if I really struggle (Coils of Bahamut is the only area I have found this).
Oh for fuck's sake ! I was just preparing myself to do this shit.
To be clear, I'm super socially anxious, and unfortunately for me I prefer Tanking. A recipe for disaster at high difficulty level. I now cheese through Extreme trials with the nifty option to fuck the level sync and play with some nice lvl 80 player, but I dread the moment where it won't work. I already know that I probably won't ever beat Extreme equivalent of the latest xpac until a new one comes.
So yeah, Coil of Bahamut scares me.

Tell me about social avoidance skills. Never spoken to anybody in my FC other than the leader, who is a mate. This also comes down to being an older player as well.

Have to let me know what server you are on/would be on. Worse comes to worse I am sure we could get a group together. I know there are ways to jump servers
I would even pay to change server if need be.

Thanks! Deciding on one more game to get, so it'll likely be DE then again I miiiiiiiiiiight switch out some games in my cart atm and grab some S-E games like Romancing SaGa 2.

BTW newegg has various S-E games slightly cheaper than on steam if you're in the US.

I'd like to make a quick note here on how great Ender Lilies is.

At the beginning it seemed beautiful and well-made, but perhaps a bit too linear and easy. Now that I've played a lot more those concerns are definitely put to rest. An amazing soulsvania.
It is a really good metroidvania. I had issues with the non-proportional map system not giving much help in finding secrets initially, but it kind of helps to not give things away too easily and the color coding of unsolved rooms largely prevents frustration. The starting dodging animation looks and feels off, but it is replaced with a new ability. The game as a whole looks and sounds fantastic, with especially the piano soundtrack sticking out as unexpectedly varied, fitting and great. You have to actually learn attack patterns to defeat most bosses past the first few, which is probably a great feature for most people. I started getting a bit frustrated trying to beat the twin spires boss, but I attempted to beat him first in an open ended section of the game with many options available. The other bosses have felt well balanced and challenging, except the first boss.

I believe one of the options in the upcoming Endwalker is cross server dungeons. So hopefully it should be even easier in a few months time.

MMO players have been some of the most abusive people I've ever seen, though also some of the kindest. It depends who you end up with, but that's the reason I am still struggling with a degree of anxiety when doing anything online. People have crazy and insane expectations of casual players.

Yeah I just saw a video of the first part of Coil of Bahamuth and fuck that shit.
I have a choice between ignoring it, but that’s a little bit of a big lore thing, cheesing it, but I would need to find a group of high level players, or even drop the game. Which, yeah, frankly stupid, but I never signed for raid and it looks like it’s plot important.

Here's our review of Ender Lilies, my colleague really liked it.

ENDER LILIES: Quietus of the Knights | Ragequit.gr

Sadly the game is not for me, my hopes were rekindled when I read that there's a levelling system but it seems that you are still quite fragile even on higher levels. That means I can't apply my Dark Souls trick of grinding until I am way overleveled and steamrolling everything :surrenderblob:
Yeah, levels really don't seem to do very much. For the hardest boss I fought so far (well, hardest for me) I explored elsewhere after failing 6 or 7 times and got ~10 more levels, but I still just was only able to defeat it by "getting good".

It is a really good metroidvania. I had issues with the non-proportional map system not giving much help in finding secrets initially, but it kind of helps to not give things away too easily and the color coding of unsolved rooms largely prevents frustration. Yep, I agree with all of this. In several of the more open parts I explored each area first before fighting the boss of any of them (even though levels don't help much, they do help, and so do the relics and upgrades you find).

I've got to say I have been pleasantly surprised by the community in FFXIV. Maybe it is because I still have my sprout status, but I haven't come across any abusive players yet (I hope I haven't tempted fate).

In fact had a great time on a Fate just now, where a load of randoms partied up against one fate, still took a while to take down though. Stopped for a brief chat afterwards and then moved on to what we where all doing prior.

Li Kao BTW, further to what I was saying before when 5.57 is released (or it may have been released) there will be a Visit Another World Server. Unfortunately it appears to be random and doesn't allow you to choose your destination server.

Finished the first No More Heroes and I’m glad I did since I didn’t really enjoy the game much :/

Although some of the side missions were funny, overall I didn’t enjoy the story and the combat was tedious. Also the game still has a few broken achievements so ya, there’s that too. I’ll wait a bit before diving into the second game

Those are cRPGs and mostly on PC so they don't count for the people complaining, which I find absolutely hilarious since PC cRPGs are THE RPGs, the fathers of the entire RPG genre. As someone who adores turn-based cRPGs I have this to say: :coffee-blob::coffee-blob::coffee-blob:
I actually had someone reply to that list with
Outside of Starfield (I hope to God since we don't know anything about it) all of those are Isometrics.
even though the original comment was
I just hope it's not another four years before it's done. I miss me some good RPG. And TES6 is still at least five years away, and Dragon Age 4 is probably at least another two years away.
Apparently a game is only an RPG when it's an AAA FPP game. And then once Starfield/Dragon Age 4 comes out, they'll cry that the dialogue options and gameplay systems are dumbed down compared to the older games, like what happened in Fallout 4.

I'm guessing Ring of Pain or Carto will be in it (both Humble Published games).
Not two at the same time.

My predictions for April:
  • by Humble: Temtem, Ikenfell (most likely), and Ring of Pain.

My predictions for May:
  • by Humble, either Ikenfell or Ring of Pain
  • by No More Robots, either Hypnospace Outlaw or Nowhere Prophet.

It turned out Ikenfell was for June. So crossing fingers for RoP in July or August. :evilblob:

Edit: Funny how RoP's price does not match its historical low (which was 2 months ago). I would like to believe this is a way to increase the value of July's Choice in the eyes of potential purchasers.

Anyone here get into TheHunter: Call of the Wild?

I'm thinking of picking up the base game for 5$ but there seems to be a ton of DLC. A lot of new location/areas as DLC too.

Just wondering what would be the must haves for a good near complete experience. Don't really want to drop 20$ for the 2021 edition and the 2019 edition seems to be missing a lot. And complete is ridiculously expensive :negative-blob:

You don't really need any of the DLCs. The new parks are something to buy when you want a certain scenery or to hunt its local fauna. Base game has two parks iirc, so you'll have a ton of stuff to do. The other DLCs are mostly various weapon packs. ATV is pointless imo since traversing the beautiful parks while listening to birds and stuff is half the charm of the game. I guess I'd get the Treestand & Tripod pack, since it's pretty fun to shoot from the trees. The others you can get if you get into the game and feel like expanding on your weapon options or some more specific hunting gear.

For the past week I haven't had the energy to game even half as much as I'd like to thanks to the heat.
Us Northern Europeans weren't made for temperatures above 20°C. 🥵
I did finally get started with Witcher Thronebreaker and damn that's a good ass video game.

Not true! As someone who grew up in northern Sweden in -30C winters, but now lives in France, anything below 20C is freezing to me. I’m not even kidding, I get shivers.
I'm going to blame my weak northern Finnish genes then.

Blue Reflection Tie (sequel) trailer. No steam release date yet.

Happy to see Hinako again. Interesting to see stealth mechanics. Also, please have a proper hard difficulty because the first game is a cake walk.
