Oh yeah, discord. i keep forgetting that's a thing. I'll have to remember to fire it up at some point. Same with Steam Chat.
My deepest apologies to people but lately i've been playing the games i bought and watching series rather than talking about them.
I don't really do discord. Not that I don't like it or don't have some super nice ones to visit, but I know what will happen if I use it seriously. The same thing that happened with mIRC.
I you think I'm too present or posting too much, you didn't see me in those days :sweaty-blob:

I mean, waiting for lashman to pimp my thread is fun, but let's not be a burden to our friend. Best jokes are the short ones.

There is a small community of players of Artifact Classic, the true long haulers.

Artifact had so much more potential than Gwent and yet here we are...
  • the first public version launched with a big splash but also with big problems
  • efforts to fix the game didn't go well and the game tanked
  • devs stopped patching completely for a long time to work on a big rework of the game
  • Artifact relaunch got killed by Valve before it even happened, Gwent (re)launch was so bad it alienated most "long haulers" and nobody would've been surprised if cdpr had just given up at that point

And now, many expansions later, Gwent has worked itself back into being a good card game with a small but healthy scene and Artifact is a corpse :-/

Kind of curious if Valve will continue the crackdown on region switching abusers since one of workarounds I'm reading about is using market transactions to fill your wallet, which gives them a 15% fee. What a "happy" coincidence.

Legit customers in Argentina getting screwed with prices increases by publishers, while Valve makes even more money.... so business as usual :(

In my Mass Effect news.... I forgot how rushed the companions "relationships" are in the first game. Two conversations later and they are you best friends forever, and if you are just a little bit nice, probably potential lovers :p

We kinda reached the point where the only ways to combat the region hoppers, will exponentially start to increase inconvenience and severily limit legit people.
I guess depends to which degree will pubs push them.

What you mentioned above has always been a method for "funding"and/or trading with someone's else wallet as far as I remember. I mean, I believe I was told once Valve banned some people who did abuse from this kind of behaviour which was pretty easy to spot at the beginning of the Steam Market feature.
Example, you could see a trading card was sold for "XY€" making a big spike on the graph over a short time span.

In the end, there's no easy solution that doesn't satisfy all parts. You can't expect Valve to act as an arbitrator on regional pricing nor you can expect people to stop screwing others (especially people from rich countries to poor countries which is kind of sad and almost ironic).

And yes, Valve will continue the crackdown on region switchers, that's granted for sure.

Say fellow metacounselors, is any one of you upstanding anime loving members vaguely interested in playing Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot in the near future? I ask because I've created a Japanese soundtrack mod but I haven't shared it online yet, so if anyone here is interested in trying it then it might actually encourage me to publish the mod. I've a tried a few of the BGM mods available online but, while the effort is certainly appreciated, I just didn't find any one of them good enough.

I mainly modded the soundtrack for my personal use but if some people might get some sort of enjoyment out of it then it probably is worth sharing. I've never done anything like that before so I'd be a little hesitant to share it online but I also feel like I should share it since I feel like I have done a not so shabby job if I may say so myself, especially for a modding rookie :steam_cleanseal:

I know using the market was always one method. It is just that going by the discussions on open forums over here (Brazil) it may become one of the main ones. Before people used gift cards either physical or the direct ones between "friends" accounts.

Thus my curiosity if the publishers pressure is enough to Valve mess with market where it can get complicated really quickly, and also where Valve gets the 15% fee.

But I'm not really that well informed and there maybe some other more direct workaround.

Sea of Thieves is such a frustrating experience. First of all i love the game, how it looks and atmosphere. I love exploring seas and island. But there are such annoying things that they didn't solved/fixed to this date.

I got quest to get chest from an island. I go to the island, anchor the ship near island, swim to the island, dig the chest, pick up the chest and head back to the ship and what happened next? I was standing on the shore and watching my ship sinking without any apparent reason. No other ships around, no canon shot sounds, no other islands around, nothing. Swim to siren to respawn on the ship, lose chest, fail quest. And to get that quest back you need to go to nearest outpost and pick it up again.

Second issue i had was when i decided to do Tall Tale. i finished 3 parts and got totem and i was heading the island to use it. Then near the island i got message that my totem has been lost and that quest failed. Just like that. Then i saw that item can disappear after server merge. I restart Tall Tale from checkpoint and i got pages back for the journal but no totem. I am basically at the island i need to be at and i can't continue quest because i don't have item required to continue. So that means game restart and respawning God knows where and sailing again to the island i need to be at. Basically i wasted a lot of time.

And even though i understand that game is shared experience i still think that game could use passive mode for people who want to sail around and do Tall Tales and have fun with friends without engaging in PvP. Today i dropped the anchor to look at the ship map for direction and i got sunk. I had nothing valuable on my ship, i didn't fire on other ship and i lost like 10 minutes for nothing. I spent like over 100h in Red Dead Online solo doing my own thing and enjoying that great world because there was passive mode. And that game was also intended to play with other players.

As someone that played Ys VIII while the port was still in pretty rough shape, I have to say the Ys IX port is a real treat! Playing Ys VIII on PC was kinda bittersweet due to the constant crashing so it's great not to have anything ruining an otherwise fantastic game this time around.

I think I may have encountered a minor issue, though. Does anyone know if the controller vibration is use super sparingly or something? Because it's turned on but 3 chapters in it hasn't activated once so far. I'm not sure if it's the game or Steam Input, though. All I can say is it's not he controller as it works in other games. It's an Xbox One controller, if that makes any difference.

It should vibrate when you take damage. If you aren't getting any vibrations at all, are you playing wired or over bluetooth, and do you have 2 controllers (or more) connected at the same time while playing?

Could you also try turning off SteamInput and see if it changes anything?

Wireless using the official adapter. I turned off SteamInput and it started working, turned it back on and it still seems to be fine. Not sure what happened (or why I didn't try this earlier lol) but I guess it works now, thanks. 🤷‍♂️

Haha oh crisis averted I guess? Some other people were reporting vibrations not working so hopefully it stays working for you now.

Ah ok, that's reassuring because the vibrations are very mild and I was starting to worry that I was just being an idiot and hadn't noticed them before lol. I wasn't even sure when it was supposed to be vibrating so I only knew to pay attention when I got hit after you mentioned it.

This is something that was reported by a few people before.

Best we can tell is it happens if you had two controllers connected when starting the game and then use the second one while the first one turns off.
We have code specifically to fix the input in that scenario (always using the active controller) but forgot about rerouting the vibration when that happens. Should be fixed in the next patch, but you can just launch the game with only one controller active for now.

Is there supposed to be something I could do here in Ys IX? There's a marker that says "Misc Event" but it's a graffiti.
Yeah, later.
You might want to try coming back with a new party member in tow.
Specifically, with the 3rd one

Thanks! Was trying to clear all the markers before moving on, hopefully I don't miss stuff that way

Monster Hunter Stories 2 has surpassed Persona 4 Golden and become the largest JRPG ever on Steam which is impressive since Stories costs three times as much (although Monster Hunter is a much larger franchise than Persona). It's almost like there's a hungry audience on PC that will gladly buy JPRGs that are released day and date as consoles coughSquareEnixcough

Word of advice never buy figures you will be broke before you know it.
I can personally attest to this due to my closet full of unopened figures and regret. I've actually been selling a few figures just to get more room.

Day 1 stuff would have been pretty cool.

Imagine if MHR had released on PC day 1?

Also let me know more about the figures that you are selling. The biggest issue would likely be international shipping since I'm going to assume we live in different countries (I don't always remember where everyone is from)

In regards to figures later this year I plan to buy a new camera and also buy one of those small photo tents and take pictures of all my figures. I have scaled figures but it's mostly articulated figures that I'm interested in.

I don't know, Arc, I think Stories is more like a monster capture game a la digimon/pokemon than a proper JRPG per say.

EDIT: Ok, asked some people, yeah, looks like it is indeed considered a JRPG :evilblob:
