Humble has a racing sale. It's not particularly great, but there's a lot here. I'm eyeing Inertial Drift for ~50% with the Choice Discount. One of these days I'll get Assetto.

That's a lot less than I expected, especially since the servers were clearly overloaded.
Keep in mind that this only the most expensive model, and only hour after reservations opened for a piece of tech that has had a whoppin' 2 days of press while servers were constantly shitting the bed and a ton of people interested couldn't even get the order in.

There are disadvantages.
Higher CPU usage due to decompressing - so higher battery use if you're portable and possibly some hitching due to ISO decompression.
Oh well, then I'll keep those few ISOs as they are.

That's not the case if the emulator supports the compressed format natively. PCSX2 for example creates an index file for every gzip archive. Hitching is also non-issue on any normal hardware. CSO for example hitches on PSP, but only in GTA games. On PC CSO works perfectly and there's 0 chance of hitching.

Now my dumb questions while I think about getting the Deck

You can preorder now paying 4 bucks, but when do you have to pay the full thing?

Can you pay with Steam wallet?

omg Steam Deck doesn't appear in my games library. I've restarted it a dozen times. :p

I am bit south-east from Croatia in hell hole called Bosnia & Herzegovina XD
My father was born and raised in Bosnia when it was part of Yugoslavia. My mother was born and raised in Croatia. I always wanted to visit both. Maybe some day.

Seems like they'll notify you when it's ready for shipping, then you either pay and it immediately gets shipped oryou get your deposit refunded (to the Steam Wallet if it's been over 30 days since reserving it, which will probably be the case for everyone, lol)

My guess is that you'll pay when they have a console available to ship to you.

You'll get an email notification with a discreet web address to process your order through. Then you verify your shipping address and pay 'em and it will be sent your way.

Don't see why you wouldn't be able to use Steam Wallet unless the payment processing portal is outside of the Steam ecosystem.

Just got my reservation in now since Paypal kept never loading. Never seen that before. Ended up getting my reservation via CC.
Q1 2022 it is, but I guess that was kinda expected.

Bit surprised if the queue in Europe is really just under 10K. Was expecting like 50 to 100K honestly. Just from Steam overloading like that.
