I'm honestly surprised how week after week the Index remains in the top seller list. It's a pricey toy, much pricier than the Deck, and you'd think everyone that wants it and/or can afford it would have bought it by now. Plus I still think VR is niche, though this is a personal feeling without any data to back it so feel free to correct me.

It's crazy that despite that 5€ reservation price (and being limited to a small number of countries!) it managed to enter the charts in the first place.

Not sure I'd call it a toy, as you there's a growing library of VR games, and the Index is currently the premium VR headset. It shows there's a continued interest by people to experience VR gaming.
Which is very good. I do expect that cheaper headsets, like the Oculus Quest, are probably selling much higher numbers.

Index is selling at regular basis with a constant flow of stock as the initial momentum for enthusiasts is already gone (it was similar to Deck pre-orders, I also experienced it) so if we keep in consideration that Index market share grows at steady steps monthly and the price tag is high (combination of all skus, don't forget this because it will be the same for Deck) you have a constant place in the chart.

Deck will also do this once it's out and stock is constant.

The deck is also only available in selected countries still.
Yes, that's why Deck will probably explode in popularity next year, people will start getting their machines and more regions will be added, perhaps even retailer partners? we will see.

It's crazy that despite that 5€ price it managed to enter the charts in the first place.
Not really, strong demand did this, if it stayed in the chart this week, we would have to consider the million preorders mark, most likely.

I was a little surprised to see they didn’t launch in Japan. I feel like that’s such a great opportunity to expand the market there and draw more developers to the platform. I could see it doing reasonably well.
I think the point of this launch reservation period was to get it in the hand of the "core" market first, so existing PC players, and that's not really Japan.

I could see Valve having a future phase in mind where they might try to advertise it to non-PC players, to actually expand the Steam audience. For that you'd need the device being sold in store fronts (physical and digital) outside of Steam, and also invest in actual marketing and PR.
On the other hand, that just seems like such a non-Valve thing that I am not sure it will ever happen.

Dear Sony Uncharted Collection on PC when? I want to replay one of my favorite franchises XD
Next year I guess. But it will be awesome to replay them all at 144hz.

Next after Days Gone is either Dreams or God of War. Can't see anything else really.

I'm sure Japan is a priority but they won't sell it there until they partner with a retailer.

I think we will see at least 1 more port within 2021, they can't (shouldn't?) go 1 game/year, but what do I know, right?

FWIW, if you take EU pricing as a reference, one Index purchase is equal to 54 average indie game purchases, or literally 270 Deck reservations. I'm actually also surprised to see it up as high as the top 5 semi-frequently, but the revenue-based sorting helps it a lot.

Looking forward to try/read about these two games in August.

Here Comes Niko!, published by Gears of Breakfast (A Hat in Time):

Hopefully, it will be as good as A Short Hike.

Greak: Memories of Azur, published by Team17 (whose games are usually featured in Humble Choice or Game Pass):

There is a demo on Steam!

Durante, something to keep in mind is that Index in top chart is a combination of all 3 SKUs in the same way Deck combined all 3 different deposits for each model, so yeah, it's a big one every week.

I think so too. There is still time for God of War this year. Could be announced in something like August and released in November/December.

At least this is what I want to believe.

A Summary of all PC & Mobile related info from Jim Ryan in the Q&A Session from his presentation at Sony's Investor Relations Day News | ResetEra

"Yet, Ryan did mention that more releases on PC are coming in fiscal year 2021 and beyond "

FY2021 lasts until March 2022 but that does not rule out anything more in 2021.

Sony acquired Nixxes so now just port anything and everything they can from their PS4 catalog.

I expect it to be much faster than Horizon ---> Days Gone. 4 or 5 games per year would be nice.
I think Nixxes will be used to port PS5 games to PC. I'm not sure what PS4 to PC conversion they could be working on, those ports are well underway.
Naughty Dog was hiring for PC projects last year for example.

As i said before i don't expect more than 2 games per year from Sony. They simply don't need to do it, and that allows them to have constant Pc output without "impacting" their sales on consoles.

Finished Death's Door. A few things don't quite come together for me especially the disappointing character progression but is one of my favorite games I played this year. Wanted to do the postgame stuff but that would require for me to go through the whole game again to find one of the seeds and I am not up for that.

Hoping this is the best place. Does anybody know whether or not you can get a refund on a twitch sub? I thought I had stopped renewal on a sub and was going to switch it to my amazon prime sub, but saw i was charged for the year immediately stopped the renewal. I had read you can stop within the first 24hrs with refund - just hoping this is true.

I'm starting to realize that technology is very dumb. Also my efforts to get a new sound system may have been in vein now seeing how it doesn't work the way that I thought it would. It seems that HDMI and ARC or a crucial part to it all....

Also 5.1 is all that I need, well 5.1.2 it seems.

I think I ended up wasting a lot of money on a lot of nothing seeing how you need the ARC thing. So I can't just hock up my consoles to the receiver have it play the sound and the have it send the video to my monitor. That's what I wanted but my monitor only has 1 HDMI and it's not the ARC type, I do have this other TV form years ago that I'm going to try to it also doesn't have ARC support.

I do see that they both support headphone out, so I can use a 3.5 to RCA cable but I don't think that would get me 5.1.2 though, I guess my best bet would be yo use the HDMI audio splitter that I have and that does support 5.1 from what I'm seeing.... Oh well

If only TVs and PC monitors were a little more similar and that they were still in a 27 inch form factor.

Well, no one is expecting 6 ports/year but we should be getting at least an increase in the pipe-line if we want to learn more about their movements, so far we only have enough data to know when their games will potentially go on sale and when they have announced their previous ports (moment of the month and week days) so yeah, I expect at least 1 more this year.

Nixxes should speed-up things but let's not get our hopes up because it could take some time before we see their work. Anyway, my fingers are crossed, let's hope they release more often or at least with a more clear idea.

As you said in the next comment, GOW or BB would be the ones that make more sense.

Thankfully, eBay has taken action against Steam Deck scalpers, enforcing their presale policies to remove all of these absurd Steam Deck pre-order sales. eBay's policy is that presale listings must guarantee that items will be posted within 30 days of the sale, and this cannot happen when most pre-ordered Steam Decks aren't expected to ship until next year.

Right now, all Steam Deck system listings appear to be removed from eBay UK, and this is good news for the PC market. Hopefully, these eBay scalpers will cancel their pre-orders to bump legitimate customers up Valve's queue. Still, the more likely outcome is that many of these sellers will list their Steam Deck again once they can order their unit.

Holy moly, small world. A girl I went to school with was a voice actor for a Dead by Daylight character. Wowzah, did not even realize.

I do not have social media, but found an old year book. Her and I were voted for a category together and I looked her up, lo and behold.

I don't know the specifics of your setup, but you should be able to output video through HDMI and audio through TOSLINK. That's what I used to do with my PS4. I know that not every console has SPDI/F though (PS4 Slim for example).

I'm not sure what setup you have but I have HDMI out from my consoles into my receiver, then HDMI out my receiver to my TV.
I get 5.1, DTS etc.
You only need ARC if you want sound from your TV to go to your receiver. For example if you have a smart TV and use Netflix or whatever.

I feel like putting critical path progression past a volcanic area where your health constantly depletes is kind of a no-no. When I go to a place and I take damage just by being there, that kind of tells me that's it's too early to explore (unless there's some signposting to the contrary). Then, punishing you for finding a secret trinket (ostensibly intended as an endgame thing but accessible whenever) by adding new enemy types after you grab it also does not seem like a great idea., much like having to make a jump into an area in a way that feels like sequence breaking -- but totally isn't.

Environmental Station Alpha.. I like it but... I actually restarted because of the extra enemies. Hope I don't run into much more of that. I enjoy poking around and finding little secrets but not like this. I happened to read that there's a false wall along the critical path as well. Hmmm.

You ever feel like a game is conspiring against you to make you uninstall it? :thinking-blob:

Any predictions/hopes about the games in tomorrows Choice?
...Not that I have any need to get more games, I'm already busy with Ys 9, Genshin's Inazuma update and then I'll need to get back to the Yakuzas and Iceborne and Below Zero and
:sweaty-blob:

Still hoping for a good one though, but I'm legit not sure what I'd even like to see in there :thinking-face:

I think we still have a week until the next Choice. I'm almost done with Death's Door, so I wouldn't mind something nice. I don't expect much from Humble, though :crying-face:

Yeah, Humble Choice has not been great for a while... Hoping for at least one game I'll care about, but I'm really thinking about canceling my sub soon.
