Court makes a ruling, no one bats an eye.
Some obscure dude tweets about court making a ruling - all hell brakes loose.

In this case you want to be boycotting Usa.

Btw haven't heard about their president in a long time, do they have one?

Yeah, Biden's still there but as he's not as mad as Trump he's not as newsworthy outside the US so we're back to pre-Trump levels of US coverage it seems.

This weekend in Below Zero:
Did a bunch of base building on the Lilypad Islands and collected lotsa blueprints for upgrades which I then proceeded to craft.
After which I decided it was time to go deep again and see what was behind the big scary fishie. So I did.
Found more stuff. But the cave below is pretty confusing and the big scary fishie was making exploring it annoying.
So I decided enough was enough. Boarded my mech suit, equipped with drill and grappling hook, and brought the fight to it.

There is now one less big scary fishie. :evilblob:

Not that I had any love for Tripwire or the games they published, so any boycott I do is probably a paper one at this point, but fuck them to hell and back. Always a shame to see anyone show their anus like this.

Anti-abortion beliefs goes against so many other moral compasses that it's almost impossible to convert anyone away from that belief, because it's become core to their vision of their identity. Like yea I would love to convince 40% of the population that vaccines aren't suddenly mind control water that's going to turn you into a frog (or whatever the current theory is) but I'm not going to. Having a discussion with someone on the internet will basically NEVER convince anyone of anything because it's not a conversation the way a real-world one is to many, many, many people.

I still counter with evidence and examples and ethics when I see someone that I don't think is just trolling but chipping away at the entrenched bigots, racists, and other extremists is not our job. Much the same way people should be shunned IRL for these unethical beliefs, they should be shunned in every way that matters. If they want to have a discussion about it, there is literally no end to the ease of getting real info about it or contacting an advocate.

I say this a lot but it is NOT HARD to be a good person and care about others. It's not. These people are choosing not to do that. You can't care about other people of any sort when you tell them what they should do and refuse to listen or learn about them. I am introverted even compared to other introverts and I still care about anyone who doesn't give me a direct reason not to care (like most of our right-wing politicians)

Yiikes.
The good news is these people are probably anti-vax too, so we won't have to hear from them too long.

Nice to see one studio stand up to this jerk.

I hope Genshin comes out on Steam, and that mihoyo allows for purchases there. They do it for Sony, no reason not to do it on PC.
Mihoyo doesn't have a choice with Sony since they have to use their payment system to be on the Playstation at all. Genshin on Steam would be cool, but I am not getting my hopes up. It's is one of those games that just doesn't need Steam since it's already so big. I guess the only reason it's only EGS is because Epic doesn't enforce using their payment service as an option and as far as I understand, Steam requires F2P games to offer MTX through the platform in some fashion.

they probably got paid by Epic to do so also.

I love how bleak Pathfinder: Wrath of the Righteous is, it's a completely different tone from Kingmaker.

I think this meme summarize my feelings regarding the plot so far:

Yes, Trump treated the presidency as his own personal reality show. Good riddance.

And as you can see from replies, there are people who support him voicing his opinion,

Americans believe that this country is the center of the universe and the sun revolves around it. So no, that dev was not thinking about international audiences to respond.

They were also thinking that because of freedom of speech, they would be protected from partner companies cutting ties. After all, Roe v Wade was effectively shot down by shadow docket, so anti-abortion is for all intents and purposes as legal as buying guns without any background checks (in TX).

He thought, if it's legal, there's no longer a stigma. Like gay marriage.

I've gotten really addicted to Tale of Immortal while waiting for Tales of Arise.

ToI is an great role-playing game especially if you're into xianxia genre since I think it simulates the whole concepts of the genre very well.

Gameplay wise the game is slow since progression will take a while. The game is a constant loop of cultivate for exp, upgrade your martial art/elements by getting fruits, finding and learning new skills, farming materials to breakthrough to the next level, go to next region. Combat can get a bit repetitive after a while and fighting someone on a different level just feels bad since stat difference makes fights between different levels almost impossible. You do get quite a few character slots so you can role play different characters so you can experiment around a bit.

For me though I've enjoyed the game because my gameplay loop of never-ending quest for power began like this:
Someone tried to steal from me. I defend myself and now we're enemies.
They get a powerful family member to try to attack me.
I lose.
I get more powerful than that family member.
I end up having to defend myself from family member again.
I win and now we're enemies.
They have a family member that is more powerful than me.
Quest for power begins again.

I'll be on top. One day. Then I can finally end this feud with some thief I encountered in the first region.

[HIDEPOSTS]I finished all three King's Field PS1 games :blobread:

All my complaints are pretty much technical
  • The controls are jank (thankfully can rebind on emulators to be less crappy)
  • Low Framerate/Unstable Framerate. Some Enemies/Bosses move too fast if it gets up t0 30FPS. The first and third games had lock framerates. So hacking the game to play at a stable 60FPS makes the game impossible because everything moves too fast.
  • Low FOV
  • The textures warble, especially when turning - holy shit, in conjunction with the FOV and framerate, this was making me severely ill due to motion sickness to the point where I had to play in short bursts, and go lie down after playing.
  • Slow as molasses turn speeds
  • Clunky/Awkward combat that pretty much ends in you trying to strafe around and stun lock your opponent.
  • Enemy Hitboxes. It felt like you had to but up against them, and even then you could swing through them.
  • Getting stuck on the environment, mostly corners

In terms of non technical parts of the game I disliked, the color scheme is so drab, everything is a shade of grey and so many areas just look the same. These are games I would actually like to see get remade because I loved the actual dungeon design and the atmosphere, but everything else felt like a test in aggravation that I assume were present due to the technical limitations of the PS1.[/HIDEPOSTS]

That Tweet from the Tripwire guy is disgusting. My wife is a midwife in a big hospital, so I'm hearing plenty of stories why abortion is the right thing to do.

I won't buy another game from Tripwire as long as that guy is on board. Since Tripwire is fully in bed with Epic, that's no big loss...

Same. I even ignore the publisher on Steam so I will not see their games anymore.
To think I even purchase killing floor 2 at full price to support them previously . :(

After adding Tripwire to my ignored publishers list, I went through my ignored games list on Steam.
It's amazing to see the development of Steam in chronological order when you look at the list ignored games.

It starts out with some ignored major games, in my case multiplayer games I never had any interest in and loads of DLC (Paradox/SquareEnix and a multitude of Saints Row 3 DLC).
One or two pages into the ignore list, suddenly the floodgates open. From the multitude of War Z ripoff games, to loads of games that are "Uninitialized" (probably all those hentai slide puzzle games that kept appearing), and later on all the low effort meme games, weird Russian Putin games and other stuff like that. And lots of hentai/anime-crap of course.

Steam really is filled with crap, but I would probably never have seen the games (and added them to my ignore list) if not for the Discovery Queue card quests during Steam sales. Outside of the Discovery queue, you really have to search for the crap to actually find it, as the front page mostly gives you interesting games.

I find that most of the people who complain about being flooded with crap games have a habit of seeking them out to see what crap games are available so the algorithm keeps showing them crap games. It's the same with Youtube recommendations, i get hardly any reccommendations i'm not interested in as i don't watch videos on channels or with people i don't wish to watch.

People shouldn't feel bad about buying Tripwire's games in the past before this came out as it's not the whole studio that have the same shitty views and opinions as the CEO. Also, hasn't Garry from GMod always bounced between having a bad opinion on something to having good opinions on other things? I'm sure i remember a couple of times in the past where he's said squiffy things, i just don't remember the specifics. I may be wrong.

Gizmo lol, have you not watched any King's Field videos or play throughs or played it before?
Most of those issues were present in the initial PSX release too. They were deliberate design choices by From Software to slow the game down and make it more deliberate and give it a sense of dread and it was a breath of fresh air at the time ... and it drove people up the wall at the time too but they were very critically acclaimed titles. Big but still niche.

You can definitely see the roots of a lot of the design, gameplay and presentation ideas in the "Whatever" Souls game series in the King's Field games though.

Terxture warping is a PSX limitation and so would be the locked to 30fps issues. It's still an issue now with console games on PC and will be for many years i reckon.

I think the editor is still available - "Sword of Moonlight" if you want to make your own Kings Field adventures!
One of the few remaining King's Field Fan Games still available:
Reddit page:
One of the people still making KF games...

Shouldn't these reviews be flagged as off-topic and not affect the score? Didn't Valve add something to the system to that effect?

Another RPG release for September.

I remember texhnolyze spoke highly of this game.

Maybe a little mix up on your part (or not, it's not important, I just want to post), it's Atom RPG Trudograd. Atomic Heart is another game altogether, sort of a Russian Bioshock that some people seem to believe is vaporware.

True that, Atomic Heart was the game with the great trailers and music we were discussing a few months/weeks ago?

I've actually had my eye on Trudograd for ages, it's been in EA for a year and they had regular updates before that so it seems like an eternity i've been hearing about Trudograd and it's great to see it finally release and i can get my hands on it and see what the fuss is about as i don't think i bought Atom RPG as they announced Trudograd just as i was going to buy it and i thought... i can wait... skeleton

edit: Updated name because i'm merging game and song names by muscle memory and idiocy.

Ha, no but It is part of my own OCD breaking regime. I'm forcing myself to just get on with things rather than spend 6 months tracking down previous content that may not really be required... or i'm in my impatient phase and just want to play the new one NOW and didn't look to see if Atom RPG is required just in case it is lol, I'm not sure but i'm gonna jump in blind anyway! YOLO!

edit: Yeah, yeah, yeah, i get it. Corrected the name again... lol
