But that wasn't the point of the post, more an observation of a trend that I want to understand. I already played Last Campfire on Apple Arcade last year.
I am seriously impressed by how good Blue Fire is. Like, wow.
They have absolutely nailed the controls. The platforming is incredibly fun. It's fast, fluid and precise despite it having an air-dash with variable length depening on how long you hold the button at its core and there often being lots of small floating platforms and stuff.
And the exploration feels very rewarding too. Shortcuts, collectibles, side-quests, equipment, etc.
And combat feels good too.

A lot of people lament the fact that Animal Crossing isn't on PC (myself included).
There have been various PC games that have attempted to copy the gameplay of that series, or at least some of its ideas, but most ended up lacking, and feeling like cheap knockoffs.
Earlier this year, a game was released on Steam (Cozy Grove) that I fell like it's an actual worthwhile alternative to Animal Crossing.
It has all the elements you would expect from a game like this (collecting, farming, fishing, crafting, decorating, seasons, ...), in great quantity, but it has a few twists of its own. For example, the game is a bit more "story oriented", in the sense that the characters you interact with have stories/quests, and those have an actual narrative end. Plus, the NPC cast is rather diverse, even featuring a disabled character.
It's a very relaxing game, ideal for daily short sessions (that can last how much as you'd like), and unusually for the genre it's also one with a certain sense of melancholy, due to some of the NPC stories and memories.
It's also a game whose developers keep supporting, with extensive amounts of content and features being added periodically, to keep things "fresh".
The game is currently having its greatest Steam sale yet, coinciding with another big content update:

Earlier today, I posted about Cozy Grove, a game I feel is being a bit overlocked on Steam.
Another game I think is being quite overlooked on Steam, one that I now bring up because it will receive a massive free expansion next week, is Max Gentlemen Sexy Business!. (the exclamation point is in the title, not mine)
I'm not sure if it's the cheesy title, or the fact that the game has some (totally optional; I can't stress this enough) nudity, but not many people seem to give this game a chance. It's by the developers behind Organ Trail (a game of decent popularity), its reviews are very positive, yet it has failed to gain some traction.
The game is a mix between time management, strategy, and... a dating game (of sorts).
It's a weird combination, for sure, but between the addictive gameplay, the funny writing, the cheery and colourful graphics, and the catchy soundtrack, the result is a light, and very fun game, one that has good replay value (especially since when you finish the game, you enter a "new game+" of sorts right away, basically different gameplay loops, featuring new additions and changes, with the game justifying in hilarious ways the fact that you are back to square one).
I mentioned above that the game has optional nudity, which I feel turns off some people.
To make it clear, the game does not have any sexual scenes, or graphic scenes. The (optional) nudity is of the pin-up variety (think, say, adult, non-explicit magazine covers), and the developers have made it so that there's simply no chance anyone will get to see anything they don't want to. To give you an idea, to get the nudity you need to install the free DLC available on Steam, then you need to disable the censorship options in the menu, you need to change the nature of the relationship with that character to allow it, when the option presents itself, and even after all that, when you finally get anything, not only is it minor (basically, there's an illustration for each character, and a book cover for each character), but the game shows the image obscured with a note (at least for the first time), that you have to click through.
As an example:
All in all, the game is a fun, addictive, and frequently hilarious cross between genres I normally wouldn't envision working together, but the developer somehow made it into a fun game.
The upcoming free expansion that I mentioned above, out next week, is supposed to add a lot of new content, including 2 new characters, new business events, numerous vignettes between characters, new mini-games, new outfits, new illustrations, (...).
If you like the genre, do consider keeping an eye on this one.

I do apologize, but today I appear to be in the mood to write walls of text.
There's one last game I would like to mention, since it's another game that, besides being a quality title, the post launch support has been nothing short of awesome, with the developers constantly releasing free, significant, content additions. In a time where most companies "nickel and dime" their customers, developers like this one deserve to be lauded.
Curious Expeditions 2, a game that left early access earlier this year, is another game that I keep coming back to.
This sequel to Curious Expeditions simplified a few gameplay elements, to make it a more accessible experience, while drastically improving the production values.
The audio and video portion of the game is quite impressive. I can't stress this enough, but the visuals of the game, featuring some lovely pulpy visuals clearly inspired by Belgian comics of the early past century, are a joy to behold, and these screenshots (taken from the Steam store page) really don't sell them enough. Just lovely.
This game is yet another personal favourite, and easily a serious contender for one of my favourite games of the year:

The art style is indeed reminiscent of those old comic books. Very pleasant. Seems like it could make for a fun singleplayer co-op game to play together on the TV with my partner. We play a lot of board games together but video games not so much. This looks like it could be a good middle ground option

I recently finished Jack Axe. As the screenshots shows, it has that cute artstyle but don't let it mislead you thinking it's an easy, far from it. Jack Axe requires precise platforming in some levels, and you can die in one hit.
The levels are all open ended, you wander through them completing some minor challenges, gather some runes, defeat an area boss and use the runes collected to open the portal to the next level. The bosses aren't hard once you get their pattern, but you'll need to have some sharp reflexes.
It took me almost 6 hours to beat the game, and I got almost all achievements, I'm just missing 3 and they are all related to some minor challenges so it is doable to 100% the game.

I have been known to play Tetris while watching VTubers. I haven't played Tetris while watching VTubers play Tetris though... closest is playing Tetris Effect while watching VTubers play the animal Stacking game.
I remember hearing a dev talking about how they wanted to make a Mac version of one of their PC games, but Apple had certification processes that would need to be done for every update, and some other developers chimed in saying that was a big part of why they didn't make games for Mac. I'm guessing that, combined with the very small audience, is why so many games skip it.

But that isn't really the issue, what Im talking about is games that have Mac versions already but the devs don't put those on Steam for some reason. I can still find the games on Mac App Store. When the dev puts the game on steam they only put their windows version.
