Ugh don't know what to do, feels like I'm struggling so much with the game now, everywhere I go it feels like running into a wall, EVEN WITH 30 levels farmed. I'm at the capital now, did beat that golden Godrick but I can't beat the regular mod in red armour after.

Iron Pineapple also has some videos on how to make the game easier – he says ER is only as hard or as easy as you make it. It may not have difficulty modes, but it does give you plenty of options, and thats very true! maybe you find some life-saving tips in these videos!

other than that, if you tell us your gear / your stats, maybe we can help with some optimization, as well :) Some weapons work wonders against some bosses, and upgrading them can make a massive difference (goes for spirit ashes, too)

Player summons are also always an option, if youre stuck.

I haven't had too many issues with bosses lately. Though I do have a couple of bosses saved for later. There was one that was spitting lava all over the place and I just didn't want to deal with that at the moment and figured that maybe I'll get some more fire protection or straight up lava protection like in Dark Souls 1 and come back. Also some of the dragons I haven't really touched. They just suck so much, always have really.

I haven't seen too many NPC summons in the game though. It's possible they are a little out of the way of course, kind of like Solaire in O&S. I think I've seen 3 total.
I've used the marionette soldier's ashes a bunch of times though, great at drawing aggro and sometimes even stunning some bosses if they happen to both go nuts with the arrows. Very weak though so you have to take most of the aggro either way, but a blessing when you have a sliver of health left, are out of stamina and just frantically backing away from the boss waiting for the moment to take a sip.

After being super aimless for a bit I've now been very methodical in clearing areas, trying to not miss too much. Just one problem. I ended up using the stickers to mark areas I haven't been very thorough in, you know just shotgun a bunch of stickers everywhere, but I ran out of stickers. :grinning-face: So now I've just marked the beginnings of areas and a few more here and there to mark them so I don't forget, and when I actually go there properly I'll use a little more and clear them as I explore.
At some point I also was marking bonfires in the map menus to indicate that I've been thorough there, but surprise, they also limit how many bonfires you can mark.

Still haven't found new armor that I would prefer over the one I mentioned before.

So after I finished the game, I started another run on NG+, but rushed it too much -
and then decided to start a new character and try to do all the questlines and collect all the cool stuff as well as I could, and even used a checklist app to not miss much (but didn't go crazy either)
Interestingly on both these characters/runs I'm again having troubles with the last boss. Looked at some strategies because they patched a cheese I had used the first time (grrr)...still no avail.

It's weird, all the bosses before weren't any trouble (Gideon is a pushover, Malekith first try, Godfrey a few tries, Fire Giant maybe 2 tries, Malenia was a bit more tricky but still didn't take too long), but the last one...
Maybe I'll finally summon some other players for this ;)

I've been thinking about that actually too. What app did you use LEANIJA ?

I don't want to look at the achievements just in case something in the names gives away something, but is there one for collecting all unique weapons, all spells and such like previous Souls titles? I don't think I care to find absolutely everything unless there's one. I imagine I've also missed a bunch here and there that may have been behind illusory walls since I'm playing offline. I was going to ask if the game lets you clean up after beating the last boss but I guess it kind of doesn't matter since you can kind of go practically anywhere right from the start so getting stuff on NG+ would be fairly straightforward in that sense.

I just arrived at Nokstella, and aside from that area I haven't really explored Fire Manor at all beyond getting teleported there once, that was surprising, and then Capital. I suppose that's relatively close to the end.

This: Roundtable Guides
works as a website as well, but the apps for IOS&Android are linked there too.

This method made this whole affair MUCH easier, in case anyone else struggles with the final boss, may that be the first run or a NG+ / new character run...

Gahh. I cant beat Starscourge Radahn. Dude just hits too hard for me. Im about level 75. Tried on horse, on foot, poisoning him, backing off letting the summons go at him. Everytime i just get flattened and have to start over.

Have you tried summoning a real player as well as the NPCs?

You can resummon those NPC's in that battle too, if you can catch a breather from Radahn's assault to do so. I don't know if there's a limit to how many times though. Also not sure if you can do it immediately after someone dies or if they are on a timer.

In general I feel that a lot of enemies and bosses hit hard, harder than what I remember from earlier games but maybe I'm old and forgetful.

Yeah. A few times. They run straight at him and get stomped and then I'm left on my own. Guess i've just been unlucky with summoning as with other bosses i've had some good help

Yeah i noticed the summon signs keep appearing. Its one of those fights where i can get some good progress, into the 2nd phase but then i just cant get over the line.

I akin it to Smough and Orstien in DS1. I spent no joke about 50 attempts at that fight.

In general, I'd guess that you are going to be one doing most of the damage to Radahn, not any of the NPC summons. I'd say that try to hit once or twice real hard (like one charged heavy attack or weapon skill), then back away, don't over commit, and let the NPC summons get the aggro again so you can heal if you need to, rinse and repeat. Also for the NPC summons, the summon signs appear in multiple places on the big field so when the aggro is off from you there might be an opportunity to quickly jump on the horse and run over some close summon signs.

If you are melee, something like Determination skill to boost your next attack, and then make that a charged heavy attack, then just back away immediately. If you have any attack boost mixed physicks, that could be useful too. Same with accessories, just get that attack up so you do as much damage as possible. As long as he doesn't one hit kill you, your damage negotiation probably doesn't matter that much, just go all in on dealing damage, find your window of opportunity.

That's actually been my general tactic so far, not just for Radahn. It feels like putting on the strongest armor barely makes a meaningful difference in damage resistance, so it's better to just go lighter there and either go full on low equip load or medium load with a heavy shield and lots of stamina instead, or if you are good at dodging, then obviously that. And then just go with whatever you can to boost damage output.

Also don't forget that you can go somewhere else and come back for Radahn later.

Yeah cheers Parsnip , thats good advice. Ill get him!

I do like the amount of options you get to vary your approach to things in this game. The talismans give a lot of different ways to build an attack.

Ive been off exploring to try and level up a bit and keep finding weapons/talismans/ash of war so im sure ill come up with a good combo to get him.

I haven't played in a few days, but I'm still exploring the capital, it's quite large. Always worried that I might miss some corner of an area and miss that one amazing talisman or something, so trying to be thorough.

Got to the last area, probably. Very tempted to look up npc quests and such. There was one guy at hub for a while but he just poofed at some point, probably went too far into some other thing. Definitely going to use a guide on ng+.

By the way, can you still roam the world after you beat the last boss?

judging from your steam achievements that show up in my community/friends feed, you still have some ways to go :)

Whats the good farming place?
Oh not sure how to explain it, LEANIJA posted about it earlier. Its after you’ve gotten past the capital that you can get there
Yes, there are several, of course, your mileage may vary.

At a low level I would recommend

For higher level I recommend

but you only need to beat Margit and Godrick (+ do three invasions, no winning needed) to get there.

in that location, all those NPCs that chill there are easily farmable, especially if you have great AOE weapons (the best one to do that drops from the final boss)

~

remember this?

Confirms that the multi-hit illusory walls were a bug, and it also looks like the murder-dogs are slightly less murderous now. (Incidentally, this channel is full of weird minutiae about From games. If you're interested in that sort of stuff, I'd recommend checking it out.)

I...want that dress. :D
there it is Black Witch Set (Female Only) :)

havent tried it out yet tho – need to check what other mods there are over on nexus. havent really looked it that yet.

Feels like I'm getting insta killed wherever I go, just how many hundreds of levels do I need to over level to make it feel as "easy" as the first half of the game?
What regions are you finding difficult?

Can you post your status and weapons? Maybe there is some advice we can give regarding your build to help it be more survivable.

Not sure how best to show everything
Since you have 3 talismans pouches I guess you're in Altus Plateou/Leyndell right? The enemies there can hit hard and they usually use lighting spells, so I could recommending changing the gloden scarab talisman to the one that helps mitigate physical damage and maybe swapping to the one that mitigate lighting damage when dealing with those enemies.

Do you have a White Mask helmet? It gives an attack buff if you inflict blood loss on an enemy or even if your character suffer it.

Besides the Godskin Peeler do you have any backup weapon to use against enemies that resist blood loss?

i dont really see anything wrong with your setup. where are you approximately? because one thing i noticed is you only have three talisman slots. and from what i remember, you are past where you should have 4 already.

check this where you might have missed one: https://eldenring.wiki.fextralife.com/Talisman+Pouch

if you are where I think you are - Mountaintops - there is a difficulty spike there. to me it felt like normal enemies were harder than bosses at times (because bosses let you summon ashes, of course).
it got easier at around 200 for me, but several areas never were "easy" ...
upgrading weapons is always a good thing to do, of course. although +20 is of course already pretty good!
I recommend trying out anything you get to see if there is anything that helps you greatly. for example, whenever i had troubles with a boss, i looked online if there is any weapon that helps with that boss, and there often is

also, and this sounds obvious, just getting used to the enemies, their attacks, taking them on slowly and skipping those that turn out to be too hard

oh and i think stats stop scaling well after 80? someone correct me if wrong.

Haven't had a lot of time to play, still in the mountains and haligtree. Mostly haligtree, didn't really do much in the mountains other than grab the map pieces and ended up clearing the fort/city with the assassin's. And since it turned out that that's where the second medallion piece for the haligtree amulet was, I decided to take a detour and go there instead.

Even though there's always more souls to collect, losing a 300K corpse run still feels bad. :rip:

Also did some cleaning up on the map here and there, killed a few more dragons that I left alone previously and such.

All I’ve been doing for over a month is pretty much to farm. It has become my morning routine before school work, have coffee, put in a long YouTube with and then just farm like an hour.
That's pretty wild that you hit such a big wall.

Have you considered respeccing and trying something completely different?

Malenia is kicking my ass. Haligtree felt like a difficulty bump otherwise too. I'm going take my own advice from earlier and just go elsewhere for the time being, back to the mountains.

If I want to savescum bunch of endings without ng+, when should I make a back up save? How many endings are there actually? I could google it of course, but I'd rather ask here and not risk google spoiling stuff.
