But developers also went and even added things that author speak against. Character creator is one of it for example. And of course you have right to both do and speak what you wish. It's your life and your choices that should be respected and acknowledged. That is why i was open here and didn't hide behind Steam Invisible mode or hide in general that i intend to lay the game.
Why is the character creator controversial?

This person isn't explicitly saying if you play the game in a vacuum, you're a bad person. The context here implies if you're aware of the creator's hateful behavior, and is still fine with supporting them, people can judge you for it.

Do what you will with that information as you please, but there's no need to extrapolate it to something about people who are oblivious to this and just want to relax and play a game after a 10 hour work day are somehow deemed as bad people, because they simply aren't.
But that's aleady implicit in the original statement.

That it's about people that are aware of Rowling, rather than those who are (somehow) not.
Making a potentially unethical decision posits knowledge of the ethical question as a prerequisite.

Picking Brianna Wu, one of the biggest targets of one of the Internet hate movements as an example of 'typical twitter bullshit hysterics' is certainly a choice lol

I never intended to say it's Twitter BS. I was just pointing that prominent users are in a way saying what I quoted in original post.

I'm also in the boat where I don't have to consider whether or not to boycott the game since I'm not interested in it (or the franchise) in the first place.

I do feel like it will be a financial success though, just based on Steam metrics.
Same.

Well, I did enjoy the movies well enough back in the day, but for Hogwarts the first time they showed gameplay I lost all interest in it. Just looked so boring.

So Pathfinder Kingdmaker, it being a long game, does that include side activities or only things that requries the story to progress?
Yes. Whichever way you play it, even simply critical pathing the game will take a VERY Long time.

Mostly because the critical path has lots of "down" time in it which you can't reasonably skip or if you do nothing during will possibly cause fail states. So you gotta play, and the game expands.

its not bad, its just designed to be a long game.

Anyone have recommendations for story heavy games with excellent Spanish translations? I have been working on learning Spanish for the last year but would like to start getting more immersive experience rather than textbook.

Little Noah is actually pretty alright, I just reached the second zone and the whole line up thing with different characters is actually really fun, it's like make your own combo thing and you have to figure out what works for you.

I'm glad I've never really cared about Harry Potter.

Absolutely nuthin' is coming up Microsoft recently, huh?
Stream next week.

Probably not the answer you're looking for but Zelda BOTW has an excellent LATAM localization

I always recommend games with LOTS of text for these things. That means there are long games (Persona, Dragon Age Origins, Mass Effect when you read all the lore entries, etc). But also games that are just REALLY long will work too. The longer the game the more text you have to interact with.

You know what games are really long? MMOs. Play World of Warcraft on a Latin America server, or Elder Scrolls Online, or whatever strikes your fancy. I actually don't know if any of these support Spanish other than WoW, but I know WoW does. There's even global chat and other places where you can interact with people there.

Don't want to deal with humans? Totally fair, MMOs can be insane grinds and some people that play them can be toxic, horrible people. There are games that have tons of playtime like the Assassin's Creed games or Skyrim. I believe both have voice and text in Spanish so you should be able to immerse fairly well and they are quite long and have stories that people seem to like and can help pull you through the learning.

Another good option is a game that really engrosses you and wants you to keep playing like Civilization V or VI. The "one more turn" phenomena works just as well in other languages as in English and doing more and playing more will help expose you to all sorts of weird words. What is the Spanish phrase for "Oh no my town is about to revolt because that jerk Ghandi set them all on fire?" Time to learn! I only mention Civ V and VI here because I don't know if the older ones have as much voice and side text as the newer ones do. Maybe Civ IV and III are fine too, IDK.

I will say learning by playing videogames has some quirks where you will learn a lot of specialized language. So like knowing the Spanish word for monster or dagger or laser gun won't exactly help you in everyday life, but then again all the verbs and tenses should still apply. It's no substitute for conversation with another person, but hearing the language is absolutely important to becoming fluent, IMO.

Final Star Rail beta is starting soon, so the game isn't far away anymore.
Genshin's last beta started ~2 weeks after signups opened, lasted for about a month and then released about 2 monts after that. If Star Rails follows a similar trajectory, we could see a release sometime in May.

I really need to have a look at some of these old releases. A lot of them form my childhood memories. It’s also where my love of PC style gaming started from.

I wish more companies would do these old re-releases (looking at you rare, where’s my pc version of rare replay). i would love to have another go at Barbarian and that totally has nothing to do with Maria Whittaker being on the cover, honest (if you Google her, don’t do it at work).

Nooooo! My wallet!

There's also an "upgrade kit" for people who own the giant anthology box they did previously, but it looks pretty underwhelming for the price.
