So the only exclusives releasing on Playstation 5 this year are FF7-2, Spider-Man 2 and FF16 ? Seeing as I still have to replay FF7 vanilla, play FF7 and Crisis Core, oh and Spider-Man 1 and 1.5, this doesn't look like a good deal.

Someone hold me :cryingwhyblob:

Do we have an idea of the FF16 or 7-2 exclusivity period ? Wasn't it shorter than a year in one of the announcement slides ?

Been checking out the new System Shock remake demo, and it really feels like what System Shock 2 would feel like with slightly more modern presentation and set in the first game. The attempt at combining modern rendering techniques with pixelated textures come out really well. That couldn't have been simple to get working so well.

Really looking forward to the base game releasing.

There are games with DLSS where this doesn't work though, and naturally it's not recommended for online games.
I like tinkering with this stuff so of course i had to try it with cyberpunk and it works... but not sure where i would actually recommend using it, at least for Cyberpunk. Maybe if you're running a 4090 with a 1080p/1440p screen so you can DSR/DLDSR to 4k and then force the game to render native 4k DLAA, i think with frame generation that would actually be playable now and provide the best image quality possible.

For a more realistic scenario, at least from my subjective experience with my setup, DLDSR 2.25x with DLSS balanced provides similar performance to just native DLAA while still looking "obviously" better (despite the lower base rendering resolution) and i'd also take DLDSR 2.25x with DLSS performance over native DLAA as IQ seems to be on a similar level but it runs better.

Wow that sounds complicated, i guess tl;dr: don't forget about DLDSR if you have the gpu headroom and want to improve image quality

Wanted dead shows 2 prices but not listing the difference between them. :-/
50€-59€
I actually really want this, I know about the reviews, but janky as fuck games like Gungrave Gore and some games seen as bad or mediocre like Duke Nukem Forever and Godfall are games I really enjoy.

But that price is too much.

Hm, having an issue with the Steam Client.
I've been marking games I am interested in playing as "Favorite" but the games don't show up in the Favorites collection.
And I can't see another place where it is.

Then the final Wanted Dead price is 59€ on Steam?
It only shows one price for that value by now.

The hell I didn't purchase it for 48€ because I thought they were going to update it with a deluxe bundle or something like this.

About reviews people care too much XD, this game is what I expect for a AA japanese game, kind of games I miss from PS2/PS3 era and I hope we usually get more often.

Found out through trial and error that you can't favorite games from famshared libraries. Only your own library.
Well, your CAN mark games from shared libraries, they just won't show in your favorites.
Which is garboooo

Can you put famshared games in regular categories?
I always forget that the library has a "favorite" category at all. :toucan:

16 is supposedly 6 months. I would expect Rebirth to be a year at least, sony cares way more about keeping the FF7 games close to them.

Also I wouldn't expect the game to come out until early next year. No way they launch this in december.

After seeing the dismal reviews, I hesitated on whether or not to buy Wanted: Dead. But I figured games media doesn't have the best track record with action games, especially rough ones, so I jumped in. I'm glad I did. The game is fucking sick. Here's way more info than anybody wants on the game:

First off, I think the reviews are accurate. The game is rough, but more than that, I suspect most players just won't enjoy its combat loop. Even the first level is full of basic mooks who can and will one-shot you if you don't respond to their attacks properly, and the checkpoints aren't always kind. It's a combat system that will frustrate most people, but if you're the type to shrug off failure and say "go next," then you might find it as exhilarating as I do.

Wanted: Dead feels built to constantly push you into taking greater and greater risks. You can hide behind cover and shoot for a relatively safe approach, but bullets aren't plentiful enough to do that forever, and melee enemies are fast, tanky, and aggressive enough to get in and close the gap. Even against gunners though, rushing in for melee is viable. Bullets don't hurt much, and the game cribs Bloodborne's rally system, so going for melee will usually counteract the extra gunfire damage you start taking.

But melee enemies pack unblockable attacks that will kill you instantly. You can counter them with a shot from your handgun (which functions more like a melee attack than a gun), but it introduces extra risk once combat gets up-close and personal. However, most melee attacks are blockable, but once you unlock the parry followup, it suddenly becomes far more rewarding to parry, since the parry's unlockable followup usually cuts off a limb (which gets even better with another unlock that gives executions on all delimbed enemies; both unlocks are early in the skill tree). It makes you want to go for the risky plays even when the enemies are busting out less threatening attacks. It's risk/reward that makes you want to take every risk you can.

Until all of this stuff starts to click, the game can feel messy. But once it all comes together, the game's real strength starts to emerge: its sense of flow. It's not about doing tons of cool moves or a variety of techniques; it's about playing by the book, doing the right things at the right time, all while being a knife's edge away from death. It refuses to let you feel safe, and maintains a constant tension through that.

Then I finished the first mission and got to the police station where the devs went nuts pouring in unnecessary window dressing that is just so charming.

Just look at this cat!

And then you get another cat to go with this unnecessarily detailed cafeteria food.

Just look at this fish head!

They did not need 4 fake vending machine logos for the hub, but hey why not!
I don't want to overhype this. It's not a masterpiece by any stretch. It's rough. I've already crashed once. Not everybody is going to vibe with it.

But I'll be shocked if this doesn't become a cult classic. For the right audience, it does so many things right. It's great. Video games are cool sometimes.

Would be incredible if FF16 actually makes it to Steam in December.

And caps off an incredible RPG year.

Square never releases FF shit timely on Steam tho so I would expect 12-18 months before it happens.

No news from eTail.Market.
And on the P5R front I'm approaching August with five fucking missing Goro Akechi points. Beginning to shit whole brick factories.

I've been looking at peak CCUs for Hogwarts Legacy, Cyberpunk 2077 and Elden Ring and it's interesting seeing their Sunday -> Monday drop.

Hogwarts went from 879k peak CCU on Sunday to 650k peak CCU on Monday. A drop of 26%
Cyberpunk went from 1047k peak CCU on Sunday to 837k peak CCU on Monday. A drop of 20%.
Elden Ring went from 891k peak CCU on Sunday to 819k peak CCU on Monday. A drop of only 8%.

Hogwarts is acting like a typical AAA game (huge opening week then rapidly tapering off). If anything, this only shows how much of an aberration Elden Ring was, especially since its all time peak wasn't until the second weekend (and I doubt Hogwarts achieves that).

As long as you have him at rank 8 by November 17 you'll be fine. He does have some points where he is soft gated and you can't advance his confidant until later in the story. He technically isn't needed for the third semester, but you won't get a special scene if you don't max him.

Next week will be the 1 year anniversary of Elden Ring and I was wondering if there has been even a single AAA release that didn't suffer of performance issues on PC since then.
After the abhorrent FF7R PC port every major game seems either to present stutter, low CPU usage, bad frame timing or all of the above. I was looking at a Wild Hearts stream - which not even out yet - and they're already "looking at the performance issues for certain users" (aka keep your stutter and give us 70€ losers).
Really hoping Resident Evil 4 won't follow this trend since RE Engine has proven to be reliable

Yessss. Today is Returnal day. Very excited for the potentiality with KB/M, mods and cheats.

Only reached 3rd biome and never defeated the boss in it on PS5.

Also, Housemarque only seems to advertise the Steam version on social media.

Overall, despite Epic and Sonys friendlyiness (mainly due to the engine), EGS seems like an afterthought for Sony, Playstation and PS devs.

I didn't beat Returnal either. Only managed to complete Act 2 and for some reason never bothered to complete Act 3 after I saw the credits roll. I still have it installed, I should return to it at some point.

Yeah that last bit is crucial. Just because an exclusivity period ends doesn't mean SE's going to immediately put something elsewhere, that's just not how they work. They'll put it on PC whenever they feel like which could be a year after ps5 and without any deal in place.
