Thankfully they put this out before I gave them money for it.

Another day, another live service game ending it's service. This time it's Echoes of Mana. It's a mobile game

I saw this video and it's pretty cool.

Crazy how huge of an influence Wizardry has had in the video game industry but it also feels like it hardly gets the recognition that it deserves (well at least outside of Japan, as mentioned in the video)

Also the company going out of business makes sense as peoples taste in games was just shifting and they were in a weird place.

Thanks for linking the video, I was just reading the original CGW of Wizardry on page 6 here:

Maybe I'm on crazy-pills, but I've been watching some footage of Wanted: Dead and I'm feeling tempted to day 1 this. It looks like a janky mess, but in an endearing way. Just packed with silly nonsense. It seems like it's got parries, a variety of execution animations, Bloodborne's rally system, Sekiro's mikiri counter (but with a gun), and then it's also got a narrative that looks like a fever dream with some awful voice acting on top.

NGL, I'm rooting for Soleil hard on this one. What a bizarre game.

There's no getting out of the Witcher 3 rabbit hole once you fall in.
Oh well, I was going to replay it eventually, it's been 8 years so I guess it's time.

CDPR games have really good audio support in many different languages so chose a different option than your previous playthrough and its a great unique experience. Especially if you are bilingual and your other language is supported.

I can't wait for the Cyberpunk expansion and I'm probably gonna replay the whole game with Japanese audio. I feel like that will be a lot of fun with all the Arasaka stuff in it the game and that Netflix anime was pretty good too from the couple episodes I watched.

To commemorate the 4th anniversary of Apex Legends it looks like Famitsu will have 42 pages dedicated to it.

For those out of the loop, Apex is actually very popular in Japan.

Also new season starts tomorrow. I missed out on last season and only played for half of December before doing other stuff like watching more movies and stuff.

You have my sword!

Wanted Dead looks like the ultimate B-grade game. Karaoke nonsense, Ninja Gaiden bullshit, HK action movie shenanigans :blobcheer:

I already preordered a digital copy on XSX (Steam had/has no preorder, sadly), and am desperately trying to source a physical PS5 copy of the CE. Just a few more hours! :blobmorning:

Wanted dead shows 2 prices but not listing the difference between them. :-/
50€-59€

I see two versions at €59 each. Weird...

...edit;
Ah ok...

"ATTENTION: THERE SEEMS TO BE A TEMPORARY ISSUE WITH 2 SEPARATE VERSIONS BEING AVAILABLE IN-STORE. BOTH OF THOSE ARE IDENTICAL EDITIONS OF THE GAME, SO PLEASE SELECT THE TOP OPTION WHILE WE INVESTIGATE."

On the store page

Yeah, better wait they fix this. Now shows 59€ for both. XD

Seems like Wanted Dead is reviewing as expected .. quirky janky game targeted at very specific community that will love it

It's a no-nonsense hack-and-slash with some sickeningly wicked dismemberment, B-tier voice acting, and heaps of jank. It's exactly what developer Soleil was aiming for, backed by several ex-Ninja Gaiden and Dead or Alive workers.

Also they kinda messed up the steam launch :ROFLMAO:

Wrapper DLL that can force DLAA onto most DLSS-supported titles, along with tweaking the presets used by DLSS 3.1.

There are games with DLSS where this doesn't work though, and naturally it's not recommended for online games.

According to the steam forums those are actually two different versions of the game with one working fine and the other one crashing all the time.

I'm also heavily tempted by this game but not for 60€.

Dang I can't believe Wario64 has only just now gotten a Steam Deck. I guess all those affiliated links weren't doing him a lot of good.

It's nice how Digital Devolved was able to give him a job so that he could finally buy one.

Now he can finally play all of those games that he keeps mentioning are Steam Deck verified in his tweets.

This is my attempt at a joke and there are multiple layers to it, if you want it explain feel free to ask.

Very cool.

Some upcoming stuff for games I like ;)

Asterigos will have a DLC and QOL updates on Feb. 23:

(and they discovered that more outfits = good :P )

--

Sword and Fairy 7 got a DLC today:

meanwhile, the first couple reviews for Wanted: Dead arent great, unfortunately :/ Mostly Negative / 39% right now.

I wonder if most of those bought the "wrong" version that causes crashing.(and its still has two "versions" on the store page!)
better wait with that one, I'd say

yeah the launch seems extra messy with one version being more broken than the other

also the game always was meant to do badly with general public as it goes hard for the PS3 era AA-jank feel ... which i bet will only be good for pretty specific subset of players

i would at least wait for them to deal with the launchg mess
