Harebrained Schemes' game is The Lamplighter's League. Turn based tactics, yhas some kind of pre combat real time element?

I give them the benefit of the doubt on pretty much anything so I'll probably give it a shot. Coming this year supposedly

Lowest discount on No More Heroes games.
Still no patches for NMH1&2 though, we're slowly reaching two years since the release :notlikethisblob:

So I decided to buy a Steam Deck but since I live in Latin America there's no availability here so I asked a buddy of mine to buy it from his steam account, I also bought a 1 TB internal SSD 2230, a micro sd card, a dock, and a case. So everything got to his house with no problem... except for the internal SSD since he claims he never got it, I even reported it as missing with ebay since I believed him.

Turns out that the SSD DID get to his house, he just didn't know what he was looking at (since the SSD came in a generic non labeled bag) so he disregarded it as garbage and threw it in the trash. That thing was like $160, the absolute goofiness of this situation is baffling.

Having a look through my wish list and trying to prune it a bit
Fwiw, it’s here

Contenders to cut are:
Callisto Protocol: mixed reviews even since launch and updates but I still can’t help but think it looks good and dead space like after all
Fatal Frame & Yomawari: get the impression both are a bit rough around the edges? Not too sure how they play compared to the likes of a Resi or Silent Hill
Iwaihime & World’s End Club: fairly average scores on VNDB (and yes WEC is mixed on Steam too but I love Danganronpa…)
Neon White: fun demo but is it worth it if not into speedrunning and leaderboard chasing etc?
Strange Horticulture, Outer Wilds, Not For Broadcast: all great reviews but not sure how they actually play looking at them?

anyone played any of these? Thanks :)

Strange Horticulture, Outer Worlds, Not Fir Broadcast: all great reviews but not sure how they actually play looking at them?
Strange Horticulture is a puzzle game - you get a plants/flowers encyclopedia of some sort, some random notes/clues and well, the plants themselves and based on that, you're trying to identify which plant is which so you can sell correct ones to your customers. It's pretty fun, even if nothing too demanding.

There's also a branching story but I already don't remember much about it and seeing all the endings is a pain as the game lacks a proper NG+ mode. You'll have to solve all puzzles and identify all plants again on each playthrough and there's like seven endings (there's no need to see all of them but it would be nice to do that without all that effort?).

And Neon White is excellent, please don't cut it.

Well, I played Neon White, and what I can say about it is that I finished it, which is already quite rare for me when it comes to single-player games that aren't RPGs or Metroidvanias.
I thought the gameplay of it was really good and quite novel -- I did do a bit of record chasing in some levels, but not excessively at all.

Outer Wilds is... necessary. That's all I'll say. Go in blind.

First Yomawari has cute meets horror vibe to it. It is mechanical nice too.

I really liked Strange Horticulture... but I also have weird tastes at times. It's very cozy. You basically find plants via puzzles, then identify them using descriptions/drawings/etc... from your book, and then sell them to people based on their properties. There is also a creepy story that runs throughout the game, with a couple of different endings and choices. The whole thing takes place in your shop or on a map.

If you like chill games and just want to relax, I'd recommend it.

I've taken a different approach to the wishlist thing now.

  • If there's anything that interest me, add it to the list.
  • On big sale if the game is heavily discounted but I still don't feel like buying it, off the list it goes.

You're safe to cut Iwaihime. I'm almost done with it on Steam Deck and its a run of the mill horror VN - has its moments but its nothing to write home about.

I like Fatal Frame as a series, but its fairly niche and not easy to give an unqualified recommendation for. If you watch trailers and such and it doesnt grab you, hang back.

Whatever you do, dont cut Neon White. I'm really not a speedrun/leaderboard person, but that game makes it fun for even single player oriented folks. One of the very best recent games I've played, and fully deserving of being on so many GotY top ten lists.

TioChuck thank you again for Ghostrunner!

I played it a bit on the Deck, and found it too hard with the gamepad controls. So I tried it a bit on m, desktop computer, and that game is really made for mouse and keyboard controls!

It's really cool but I admit I have to play on Assist mode to have a chance of clearing any levels...

I haven't finished Neon White, but it's mechanically very fun so far. I'm not one to chase high scores but it is fun seeing myself inch up my friends list board as I revisit the level with better understanding. The story and everything so far is pretty stock standard, not sure if it goes anywhere.

Outer Wilds is one of my favorite games of all time - it's probably the best mystery/detective game I'll ever play, since I love exploration. Some people don't like the feel of the flying but it made sense to me after a while and you just have to go with it rather than fight it.

Thanks for all the wishlist thoughts folks

I've cut out Callisto Protocol, Iwaihime, and World's End Club
The positive impressions for Strange Horticulture, Not For Broadcast, Outer Wilds, and especially Neon White, have all piqued my interest :)
