A day with new Genshin OST releases is a good day.
A day with new live performances of Genshin OSTs is an even better day

Such an amazing track.

The other releases (~2:30 hours total)

I have rather small hands and I find Dualsense rather uncomfortable. It's one of the reasons why I don't use PS5 that often. I liked the PS4 controller so I see this as a downgrade. The haptics are really nice, but the battery life is disgusting.

Ugh, 1GB+ Returnal update just to add FSR2 and some bugfixes, come on... Sweet MonHun update.

To pirate everything Nintendo is the only moral choice.
Fuck around and find out. Making it a business to profit from others' labor and the argument is suddenly that you're exploiting people less or less people than the company you're pirating is? It's a whole different matter to random gamer pirating something. Maybe blame their law system first also, fight to change that..?

Seems like Xbox's bet on their off-console strategy was a good one, as it seems their consoles aren"t selling all that well.
Microsoft's gaming future seems to be PC/Cloud and I'm okay with that as someone who has positively zero interest in console gaming.

At this point Silksong needs to be stealth dropped during a Direct or the Xbox show this summer. Anything else is unacceptable.

150GB for Jedi Survivor. Sorry to my fellow USA peeps who don't live in a city with modern no-data-cap internet. I actually do wonder how many potential customers that will impact.
I'm having a hard time freeing up 100gb of space for Redfall. Seeing these sizes is exhausting.

Really hope Starfield isn't too large. Fallout 4 was only like 35gb but Starfield with 1000 planets is concerning.

I finally finished Remnant: From The Ashes a few days ago. Turned out to be a really good game like everyone says it is. Didn't make the best first impression and it was really hard for me and my friend at times but the design of the game won us over and I dumped at least 30 hours into it. Randomizing large parts of the campaign incentivizes replays and keeps the game interesting when you do. Also I really appreciated that the game was built for co-op.

Sony struck gold with the Dualsense, best controller I've ever used. Haptics in TLOU or Returnal truly elevate the experience.
Easy to understand why so many devs are praising it.
Yeah it really is the best controller I've ever used. That said, I'm not blown away by the adaptive triggers in any game I've played so far. Currently playing Lost Judgment and so far they are only used when you're flying the drones around, which is so pointless.

Speaking of Lost Judgment, I have an issue with the game that is kind of baffling me. I've noticed that there is very little interactivity in it. The entire game just seems to progress from one short scene to the next. Most of the time those are cutscenes. When it's actually playable it's only playable for a short period of time before you transition into another scene. Everything is a scene transition. Walking through a door fades to black. Combat sections are tiny rooms where you fight 6 goons and then the scene transitions back to the open world. Animations they didn't make just fade to black. It gets really absurd at times... for example, this one time you're on some stairs and a cutscene happens. It ends, you walk up about 4 stairs and another cutscene starts. The thing that is really confusing me is that I've played Yakuza 0 and Judgment before this and I absolutely do not recall having this problem in those games. But I have to imagine that's exactly how those games were. How is it that I'm just now noticing that this game is basically just a series of scenes and cutscenes with very little real gameplay in between? I'm so confused and it's actively harming my enjoyment of the game.

I continue to be completely amazed at the team of artists that Mihoyo has managed to put together for Genshin Impact. Character artists, environment artists, musicians, level designers... everyone involved in the production of the game is absolutely incredible at what they do. It's nothing short of a miracle that so much talent has managed to converge at one single studio and I sometimes wonder how they pulled it off. Do they pay crazy amounts of money or something to attract the best of the best or what is it?

Bethesda I'd a master at reusing assets over and over and over again in a game.
Yea I imagine they only handcrafted like 5-10 planets and the rest they use some type of procedural generation to fill in with templates etc.

We still don't really know what kind of mechanics the game has tbf. We saw a lot of flying around in the trailers but will there actually be manual long travel between planets? Is there an actual space in the game? Or will this just mostly be Mass Effect style where you click around on galaxy maps to insta travel via cutscenes. Can't wait for the June direct hope they go all out bringing the hype and explaining the little things.

But between everything they showed so far I will guess the game is at least 100gb and possibly as much as 200gb. And then you have to remember Bethesda games come with HD texture packs for those who want to play in 4k or wtvr. That will probably be an additional 100gb download :(

I found this reddit thread that has some salary info from 2020 and 2021. No idea how it has changed now, but it seems like average salaries increased by 30% from 2020 to 2021 (so after Genshin's release) and they paid about twice as much as other companies in the area even back then. From the comments it also seems they have comparatively great benefits and work-life-balance (apparently leaks say the Genshin team got a 60-month performance bonus after its release). Consequently, they also seem to have very high riring requirements and only accept the best.
I guess the tl;dr is that they really don't seem to be afraid of spending money for quality
(I'm sure it also helps that they are a private company that doesn't need to appease shareholders and can think long-term instead of scrambling for short-term wins).

You mean the crusade mode? Pretty much everyone hated that mode lol. I think they've made it so you can skip over it now so it's not so bad. I appreciate these management modes the pathfinder games have but when you swing and miss like this it can really hurt the game, and the game in general is phenomenal outside of that part.
I can see how it gets tedious as the game goes on, but I love HoMM 3 and this mode rules for me, for now.

Obviously in 50 hours or whatever I may change my mind.

Update is out (or my Steam delayed showing it's out). I love that's it's a Kamura Village mission with the monster intro style and story/lore and everything, I kinda wished Sunbreak hadn't replaced that stuff with its own but then again I guess it makes the whole game more varied and cool in its own way too...
