I also upgraded to 32 gb from 16 gb, and bought the 4070 despite talking shit about it on last month's thread lol. I'm a toolfinally upgraded from 16GB to 64GB RAM
I am still held back by my 6GB 1660 Super and the ryzen 5 3600x
but the current RAM prices were the best option for a first upgrade
had a moment of panic when the PC booted fine but no signal arrived at the monitor. tested the previous RAM and it worked, placed the new RAM again, and finally it worked. phew.

the logic: "people dont buy games via egs because their library is already on steam - so lets give them enough free games so they already have a library on egs! then they will buy there!"They still need to give people games to make them buy something on sale
Patch is 50GB because they are making us download more VRAM. That is only explanation I have because Hardware Unboxed told me that TLoU Part 1 version 1.0.0. is best VRAM benchmark and it showed that 8GB cards are dead and can't run this game.
- Reduced the VRAM impact of texture quality settings, allowing most players to increase their texture quality settings or experience improved performance with their current settings
Whew, uninstalled the game just in time. It's good to see they're continuing to fix and optimize it, though. Hopefully Part II will launch in a much better state.
Actually think they fixed it for real? lol

Impossible, version 1.0.0. was perfect.Actually think they fixed it for real? lol
Just tested and my CPU usage went to normal and VRAM was correct haha
I don't think this is accurate.Console gamers have touted the myth that the console space is as healthy as it has ever been.
"look at those financial reports, the companies make more money every year!"
Yeah... Duh. It's a milking economy. They are milking the fewer customers more.
Console player base is shrinking since the PS360Wii days. With that narrower player base comes the result that the console makers develop and market more and more to their shrinking user base, trying to get more money per user instead of widening the appeal.
And that user base will shrink further.
Not every console player only plays games that the consoles provide, and if they are able, or willing, they will switch to PC eventually because there is so much more available. (also we "lost" millions of players to mobile since the Wii days)
Add to it the rising costs and the future looks dire.
What has that to do with the article? Activision games are also available on console.
Easy, more and more people switch to PC, even for console ass, console games. Because of the above-mentioned issues.
The absolute numbers are way, WAY down.I don't think this is accurate.
The switch already surpassed the Wii. The PS4 surpassed the PS3 by far and it's already obvious that the PS5 will do the same. It was the best-selling console in a single sales quarter ever between January and March of this year.
Only Xbox has been shrinking but that's because Microsoft keep shooting themselves in the foot ever since the Xbox one reveal.
I don't get this need to convince yourself that consoles are dying just because you prefer the PC platform. Both markets are healthy.
Just goes to show that the game should have released two months later in the first place.

You can do this for some games yeah! But the developer can specify what files, what extensions, how many and how big they can be so it's dependent on the game.A random thought struck me earlier... And I doubt I am the first one to think of this...

It is good.Seems like System Shock Remake has gone gold! Please be good...

Glad I held off on playing this. I knew Naughty Dog would put this right.Just goes to show that the game should have released two months later in the first place.
Yeah I couldn't believe what they were saying in that video lmao. They said that the game is easy to run, when it's literally one the hardest game to run, even harder than cyberpunk and returnal lolImpossible, version 1.0.0. was perfect.
And yes I am still annoyed at "experts" from Hardware Unboxed.
This isn't just about looking at the size of the bars.Let me show you this:
These are the console sales for every year worldwide.
2021 and 2022 are not better, even with the "pandemic bonus" (Didn't find a free statistic for all consoles for the last 2 years) and with supply issues.
And the other thing is, more and more games are GaaS, which are MAYBE System agnostic, meaning you can continue your PS4 game on PS5, but certainly are not platform agnostic. Losing all your progress after the system doesn't sell anymore but you want to continue playing your GaaS while also playing a new game here and there.
Sure you can buy the next console, but you already bought a new PS4 Pro in 2019 for 400 bucks and you need to buy a PS5 for 500 bucks to continue getting to play your GaaS and new games, maybe you don't have that much money or you don't want to buy a new console just after 3 or 4 years while you are happy with playing hundreds of hours of your GaaS game. And how long will the Ps4 GaaS game be patched?
So, PC is easier.
You can't just wish away the handheld audience. This isn't just about looking at the size of the bars.
You need to take into account that there are no dedicated handhelds now.
Nintendo had 2 separate systems on the market which were consolidated into a single hybrid system.
Sony had the PSP doing good numbers but now doesn't have an equivalent platform.
So both Nintendo and playstation fans now only buy 1 system.
There's data that shows that 2021 was bigger than 2020 and the difference isn't more pronounced because of supply shortages, not because there isn't demand (which was proven beyond doubt in this year's first quarter).
As for people "spending 400 on a PS4 pro and then 500 on a PS5", the pro only represents around 20% of PS4 sales. The majority are migrating from a base PS4.
The argument is that the same person was buying 2 machines and getting double counted in the bars above and now that double counting is gone with the switch, assuming a large overlap between 3DS audience and Wii/ WiiU.it's both ---> the yearly console/handheld audience shrank in half since 15 years ago
You should be able to force entry into BIOS/UEFI via holding some keys when the PC boots up. This differs a lot between manufacturers and is made harder by default settings that reduce BIOS/UEFI time to a few seconds, but I belief the option should also be there somewhere. Might have to find the manual to your specific mobo and check. After installing the latest Windows 10 updates, all my PC did was showing the following error: "reboot and select proper boot device". Okay fine, but this message appeared BEFORE I was able to press the Del key and enter the bios. I made a bootable USB stick on my laptop but that didn't work either...
Finally I was able to reset the bios on the mobo with a screwdriver because I couldn't find a jumper cap. After doing so, everything was fine again. Gotta love PC gaming sometimes...
You can't just count every handheld user as someone who also had a console. The argument is that the same person was buying 2 machines and getting double counted in the bars above and now that double counting is gone with the switch, assuming a large overlap between 3DS audience and Wii/ WiiU.
I don't personally care about this either way but that's how I understood the argument of Dragon1893
It's a inclusion exclusion argument https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Inclusion–exclusion_principle
To get the size of the union of handheld and console users, you add the numbers, and then subtract the number of people who have both
A random thought struck me earlier... And I doubt I am the first one to think of this...

I’m in a similar boat to you. I grabbed a 4080 and I’m loving it. Winced at the price, mind, but it’s a damn fine card.
And I did it, I ordered 4070. I really am stupid and like to waste money XD But in the other hand I barely spend any money on myself outised of games and clothes so yeah why the hell I am working if I won't spend some money on things I want but don't need XD
It was a matter of time.Under Night In-Birth 2, Dragon Quest Treasures for PC, and River City: Rival Showdown rated in Korea

I've had the itch to build a new PC the past few weeks, but I simply can't convince myself to buy a GPU at those prices. And I did it, I ordered 4070. Indeed. It's a demanding game so some additional flexibility with the settings is welcome.I think it's nice that they also added corresponding (presumably) settings to PC when they worked on creating the performance mode for console (which presumably involved a lot of down-tweaking of rendering and assets). This doesn't always happen.
I allow myself roughly one big purchase per year (sometimes two if i get some surprise deal). And my reasoning is that I can get more for my 3070 this year (it still has 6 months of warranty) than next year, and knowing Nvidia they will charge even more for new GPUs next year.I've had the itch to build a new PC the past few weeks, but I simply can't convince myself to buy a GPU at those prices.
