I only have 2060 and no money so a 4060 is kinda tempting.
With the 3060 being a little bit better than a 2060 Super/2070 and the 3060 Ti being a little bit better than a 2080 Super, I'm speculating that the 4060 may end up somewhere between the 2070 Super and 2080 (probably closer to the 2070 Super), so somewhere around 35~45% faster than a 2060?

EDIT: Seems like the EU MSRP are:
  • 4060 - 330€
  • 4060 Ti 8GB - 440€
  • 4060 Ti 16GB - 550€

Finally arrived my new monitor ^^.

27GR95QE-B
^^. I'm so happy. I was using another great OLED monitor until right now, ASUS ProArt Display PQ22UC
but even being a good monitor, and with pro specs which means high density pixel (this was really stuning and it's the main difference with other monitors) I wansn't happy with it. It's just 330 nits at maximum, and this is pretty noticeable. I didn't care it hadn't audio because I usually use external speakers or earphones but nits range was unacceptable.
Let's see how the new one works on gaming ^^. 240Hz!!!! ^^
Good luck, I've been reading reports that the QA on these is abysmal.
Lots of stories of it breaking up first few hours in, or even coming in broken.
Also, for some reason it has severe inverse ghosting in 60 fps outpus, making it a terrible choice for dual PC/console use.
Personally, went with a 42" C2 instead, got one for lower than what LG asks for that 27" monitor.

I don't really want to give it any attention directly but I just got an "ad" but it was a post in a subreddit i frequent for a game of someone trying to meekly astroturf for a lawsuit thing against valve? so they can get refunded 60% of their purchases back in the last 6-4 months because stuff could possibly go on sale and that isn't fair

I clicked on their LEARN MORE HERE button and its a post with super blatantly fake users all saying "IM IN!" "YOU HAVE MY SUPPORT!" all made at the exact same time with 1 post/karma and some even fucking repost the same thing on the info post.

So it's either some sort of scam trying to steal information from people or it's really an idiot that doesn't like the super generous terms of 2 hours playtime/2 weeks purchase window refund options because they're some sort of super idiot

Yeah iv seen people post about this on steam subreddit over the years.
Seems very sus.. even if it was legit. these lawyers takes 99% of the money so its basically a scam either way.

Japanese police make first-ever YouTuber arrest for uploading video game gameplay videos
The 52-year-old resident of Nagoya has become the first person arrested in Japan for illegally uploading video game gameplay videos to YouTube. The charges stem from a trio of gameplay videos of Steins;Gate: My Darling’s Embrace, an entry in the franchise which was initially released in 2013 and most recently ported to the Nintendo Switch, Sony’s PlayStation 4, and Windows in 2019. The videos, which were monetized and collecting ad revenue, contained the game’s ending.

In addition to the gameplay videos, Yoshida was also found to have uploaded videos of the Steins;Gate anime adaptation and Spy x Family anime. These were not complete episodes, but instead have been reported as “fast content” or “netabare” videos. In Japan, "fast content" is a term used to describe condensed versions of a series episode or movie. “Netabare” translates most closely to “spoiler,” but in criminal discussions is generally used in reference to videos that extensively show the ending of a published work, as opposed to short reveal-the-plot-twist clips such as Darth Vader saying “I am your father.” Yoshida also reportedly added captions and narration to some or all of the anime videos.

Yoshida has admitted to the charges, saying “I knew it was illegal, even as I was doing it.” In a statement following his arrest, CODA, Japan’s Content Overseas Distribution Promotion Organization, asserted that, “in principle,” any use of gameplay videos requires permission from the rights holder.

The footage snippets of System Shock 2: Enhanced Edition that dropped inspired me to finally preorder SS: Remake. (You get SS2:EE free with every preorder.)

Super enjoyed the Remake demo so it didn’t feel like much of a gamble and OG SS2 is one of the all-time greats.

win/win!

So according to this we're gonna get Twisted Metal and TLOU Factions on D1 on PC, as well with Metal Gear Solid 3 remake. But most of all I hope we're gonna get a date for Hades 2
This is most likely fake as all the side tilt camera shots of these monitor screen wishlists usually are...

But I can't help but roll my eyes with Sony attempting these F2P/service games. They kinda announced it a while back as a company objective but I still don't believe how they are gonna support these games. They've never been a multiplayer focused company. I don't see how Factions will be constantly updated and keep the community satisfied. Same with Twisted Metal lol. They are gonna have to put so much effort into a game like that otherwise it will be boring after a few days of playtime. That is a game where you need hundreds of different skins and lootbox shit for it to have any type of long lasting impact on release.

A Killzone remake would be a good. The campaign in that first game would translate really well into a modern day fps. It was hard and you have co-op AI buddies. It felt like a real futuristic warzone. I don't see Sony doing it tho especially with Horizon games continue selling so well. Guerrilla games is basically in endless purgatory now where they just work on these generic open world Horizon games.

Also I think Sony will be very safe with their showcase. Expect a big Capcom reveal like some new RE game for next year or footage from DragonsDogma 2.

Maybe some of the Konami MGS rumors turn out to be true as well. And the rest of the stuff will be gameplay blowouts for stuff they already announced (SM2 and Wolverine). The real surprise announcements will happen in the Xbox showcase imo. Especially after the poor Redfall reviews. I think Phil is gonna sneak in some megaton trailers last second.

Oh dear.
Note that I'm very young (2003). I first played System Shock 1 (EE) in 2016, and it became my favourite game (followed by Ultima IV four years later). I still remember the hype for the System Shock remake, at the time I was hoping for a release at the end of 2017, at the beginning of my first year of high school. Now it's 2023, I'm a university student with two exams under my belt, and still no System Shock Remake 💀.
Not to mention System Shock 2 EE. When it was announced for 2020, I decided to postpone my playthrough of the game, hoping for a late 2021 release, and now it's 2023 💀.
Developing a video game is becoming a very tedious and time-consuming task, both for consumers and for developers.

So Sony have confirmed that PC gamers will be waiting 2 to 3 years for ports of their games. So if that is the case I have a few simple rules. I am not accepting £50 price tag (or whatever the equivalent will be). No new game is worth £70 and no late port is worth £50. Fix your regional prcing, if no game is worth £50 it definately not worth what you are charging in some regions. No technical issues. With the exception of Days Gone (I think) Sony have failed to release a game without some issue that requires some form of patch.

Otherwise your games will continue to be discount fodder for me.

I wouldn't say that's a confirmation when they have been changing the release window quite a few times and both Jim Ryan and Huslt said different things lol

Take it as "it will be 1 year to 3 years with some releasing in less time" also GAAS will likely release alongside console.

Sure, cause' that's how all games are releasing nowaydays lol

And in all fairness, even if all games required patches, aside from TLOU, uncharted and HZD, all the other games released in a very solid state, so, AT THE VERY LEAST, sony has a better track than other AAA publishers.

I have just hit the point that, if they are expecting me to pay £50+ for a game then I expect it to work. I know things like stutter is subjective and hits people differently so working is a relative term. But most of these AAA publishers are making massive profits. Maybe I am starting to feel old but its just infuriating.

I been saying it for years but...... if people lay off the pre-ordering and day one purchases we might be in a better situation with this releasing any old shite bullshit. Fucking FOMO.

Intel believes there are opportunities for simplification in our hardware and software ecosystem.
Certain legacy modes have little utility in modern operating systems besides bootstrapping the CPU into the 64-bit mode. It is worth asking the question, “Could these seldom used elements of the architecture be removed to simplify a 64-bit mode-only architecture?”

This whitepaper details the architectural enhancements and modifications that Intel is currently investigating for a 64-bit mode-only architecture referred to as x86S (for simplification). Intel is publishing this paper to solicit feedback from the ecosystem while exploring the benefits of extending the ISA transition to a 64-bit mode-only solution.
If I'm understanding it right, this wouldn't mean ending support for 32-bit applications, just 32-bit operating systems.

Goddamn, the build quality on those things sucks royal ass.
I really don't get why they can't have better QC with that inflated price. As I said, my OG XBONE controller still holds up even though I've been rough with it (only had to buy a new membrane for the facebuttons due to it being worn out, no click on the button (but still worked)).

The Elite Series 2 has always been about Microsoft taking the concept of the original Elite controller and squeezing more profits out of it. It was inevitable that corners got cut.

And these days the Elite controllers are, frankly, not worth the money. The Series 1 was when it came out because there really wasn't any controller like it at a good price, but for PC gaming now you can get 70-80% of the features of the Elite S2 at 40% of the price with devices like the 8BitDo Ultimate.

Why do I have Mass Effect 2 (2010) in my unsorted steam library ? Did EA gift some version of it recently ?

I'm a little lost about which Mass Effect version to play, I guess I will have to take a look at the mods for the remaster. Why, yes, I didn't hate Pinnacle Station.

Meanwhile, I'm trying to get a response from those motherfuckers at Logitech for a faulty mouse wheel. I'm still under warranty so they will have to cooperate, but talk about a shit site. No email address, just phone or chat. Phone is closed on week ends and the chat that is 7/7 h24 leads to a javascript:void.
There is a global chat bot but... crickets.

They will get their cake and eat it, as there is no way I don't buy a new mouse for the replacement process duration, but man, they will support the faulty one.

After installing my 4070 last weekend I had a week off to really put this new toy through the ringer: I played 25 hours of Persona 3 Portable on my Steam Deck (no use of the 4070), 10ish hours of the new Zelda on my Switch (still not really feeling it, no use of the 4070), 3 hours of Death Loop (actual 4070 usage), plus I ran a few Cyberpunk 2077 benches with Raytracing Overdrive and frame generation enabled (actual 4070 usage).
Then today I re-subbed to WoW for a month and played 5 hours of Classic Hardcore (actual 4070 usage?).

Well spent money for the new GPU!

there's a primary reason the Steam Deck sold so well - and it's the price for the buck

it's 399 dollars for the cheapest version and a joy package, a small pc you can have for general purposes, but primarily games - something appealing to a general consumer who just wants that, there's not even any remarkable performance differences between the versions of the steam deck, with the exception of the memory

but when these companies like Asus and AYANEO try to sell their small handheld PCs, they usually go for way too high of prices - (this Asus ROG Ally being at a whopping 599 dollars for the cheapest version with lower performance, with a more powerful version at 699 dollars) - they'll naturally be specks of dust compared to the steam deck triumph

Whenever I see these other handhelds they just sound like a collection of bad or questionable ideas at best. "We offer 150% better performance than deck and a 1080p/120 screen!"

and a battery life of 35 minutes

Not to mention they almost always miss the mark on ergonomics, feature set and ease of use. I question the common sense of the people who approved all this blistering power and high end screens knowing full well the shit battery tech everyone on earth is limited to using. A portable that can't be used portably defeats the entire purpose of it!

They’re just taking the typical OEM approach to marketing this thing.

Bar charts versus the other device. And it works to a degree, even if the end user experience ultimately sucks.
