The mechanics are more unusual/novel than average, but I don't think they are batshit crazy.
I meant that as an obvious shot toward Minstrel's Song, but it wasn't that obvious. Sorry for the vague post.
I really love and respect Kawazu when he does slightly off things, but FULLLLLL KAWAZU is not for me.

The consoles have a single display mode in Mortal Kombat 1 at 60fps with dynamic resolution and FSR.
PS5 has a slightly lower average resolution than Xbox Series X. - Xbox Series S has some minor cutbacks in some settings such as terrain geometry, post processing effects, ncps density, textures or shadows.
PC has slight visual advantages thanks to better shadows and post-processing effects.
Framerate capped at 60fps on all platforms. Ingame cinematics, menus and special movements are framerate capped at 30fps.
Good PC performance. Without problems to achieve the 60fps in ultra in any graphic of the range 30/40.

High visual level and solidity on all platforms. No matter where you play it, all are a good choice.

Man this Direct was boring. Not even new Mario Wonder footage. Vanillaware continues to break my heart. New Saga, but looks like it is on a shoestring budget.

Crazy to see a remake of the Another code game. Now if only Ninty was looking at reviving the Kyle Hyde games too

They’re probably next. I hope they don’t change them as much as Another Code is. Would be weird to play in third person.

I think Hotel Dusk looks so good as is, it's so stylish and makes such great use of the DS hardware. Would be nice to get more people to play it though, and they better still have those rotoscoped pictures if they want to do a remaster. Cing went down over a decade ago, so you have to wonder if someone bothered to keep it all backed.

Hopefully patches aren't delayed and we get crossplay
Yeah, no crossplay with PC is the one thing that would make me regret my purchase a little. Hopefully if they pull this shit again, they'll catch so much flak they'll have no other choice but to change course because that shit really shouldn't fly in 2023.

I'll find out soon. The game is compiling the shaders...
It's looking like it's not shaders for a change and it's the video playback bugging out
Steam forums:

"Capping the fps and use high performance mode in the Mortal Kombat 1 profile in the Nvidia Control panel will fix the stuttering. It possible the game is light which causes the gpu clock to drop during cutscenes. I am sure it will get fixed at some point but since I have done this the game is smooth during gameplay and cut scenes."

The intro movie stuttered for me as well, until I turned off VSync. Now it's fine. Game looks and plays amazing. I wasn't sure about the kameo fighters but they are very well implemented.

Yeah, the game looked bad. Also had the misfortune of releasing in 2023. And EA was their publisher to boot - was primed to fail.

has a public playtest going on right now (if you click Request Access, the button just immediately turns into Play Now, no actual sign-up process is involved). It's the shared-world/massively multiplayer first-person puzzle game that was most recently teased during Summer Games Fest, I played it for some four hours today and apart from pre-beta-level performance (get ready to lock to 30 FPS), it's ... really pretty damn great. I think this is going to be a big deal (as big a deal as it can get for a PC puzzle game) once released....

Here's another game EA is putting out to pasture. The actual gameplay was good and different enough from Monster Hunter, but there was jack all for content. There were like 20 monsters and about a quarter of those were recolors. I wasn't expecting as many monsters as a mainline MH since Wild Hearts is a new IP, but the roster was too barren for me to invest a lot of time into.

Git gud, old man. Minstrel Song wasn't even Kawazu at his apex.

Kidding aside, Scarlet Grace is definitely more accessible than Minstrel Song. You still have to suffer a bit because random mob can still kill you, but not nearly as egregious as Minstrel Song.

P3 Reload will keep me busy while Square prevaricates on shitting it out on Steam.

Hopefully they don’t do any stupid exclusivity shit with the third part, but I’m not keeping my hopes up.

I'm in absolute awe at that rebirth trailer. It's definitely one of the best trailers I've ever seen. The sheer amount of info they confirmed and doubts they shut down was astonishing. The buggy is back, the gold saucer looks incredible, the chocobo breeding is back, all the minigames are back + new ones were confirmed, cait sith actually looks kinda cool and cloud rides a segway like the doofus he is.

Just...holy shit man.

Super excited for this played the original a ton!

Also here's a bunch of people complaining that now it looks like it's just a generic Third person shooter compared to the original and that sort of just confuses me. Basically all they changed from the original game is the graphics and the camera. So it's not a twin stick shooter but everything else is coming into view as the same mechanics wise with every other gameplay video they show.

I wouldn't personally have a good idea what they would do for a sequel maintaining the same viewpoint. They update graphics a bit? Throw in some vaguely new maps? (The maps were procedurally generated)
I don't know what they would throw in that would want people to be happy about ranking up to max level all over again if it was just the same weapons and calldowns again in the same thing

Am I wrong in not seeing the Unity thing being a big deal in Nippon?

I'm likely looking in the wrong places.

Looking at western indie devs, the world has been set a blaze.

At least when I saw I did see some devs mention their displacement over the announcement but it didn't seem to reach the same level of reaction it seems.

Also RIP game dev story

My only question about FFVII Rebirth is will they pronounce Cait Sith's name so that everyone can get that mind fuck over with.

"Khet-Shee" I cannot wait for the memes from people who never knew.

Does anyone know/remember why there suddenly is two entries for Mass Effect 2 and 2 entries for Dragon Age - Origins in your Steam library?
Mass Effect 2 also has different install sizes. I'm guessing the larger one includes all the DLC you earlier had to manually download from the Bioware website?

I'm going to be bold and say the PC version of Rebirth won't be 🥚clusive.

Feel free to mock me when I'm wrong.
I can see it. I don't think that "Nomura package deal" would have included the entire trilogy, since that would have been way too far in advance.
And currently Timmy-boy has scaled down their exclusivity shenanigans. And Square should have the numbers that sales were catastrophical, likely harmed their Steam sales too and then you also have investors/analysts breathing down their neck and asking "why the hell aren't you morons growing your audiences?".

Then again, the new CEO hasn't been there that long, so I'm also not ruling out that idiotic decisions were already made for some time and/or he hasn't had much time to correct some things (assuming he even would).
Honestly can see it go either way.
