how about:
Huh.
Interestingly they don't mention the hall sticks in the regular bt ultimate controller page (anymore?), only on the two special anniversary controllers.
I don't have any reason to think they'd have sneakily removed the hall sticks from the regular bt ultimate controller, but that seems a bit weird.

It's still probably my next controller, but I do wish they'd sell the ultimate bt in xbox button layout. I know they sell the buttons on their store and I can swap them myself, but still.

Though who knows, maybe :phil: will bless us with that leaked controller before I need a new one and it has hall sticks too, wouldn't that be something. Super unlikely of course.

So i was watching this new anime called Shangri-La Frontier yesterday about a trash game hunter who finally played a god tier game.
YouTuber who's plays Assets Flip games finally learns about AAA games, the anime

I remember hearing about this but I think it had more to do with the mangaka rather than the series itself. Did they make another popular series prior to this one?

Alright someone sell me on 8BitDo controllers, they have one for xbox and I am tempted but I don't know why I need one though?
I mean, do you need one?

What games do you play that would benefit?

Are your current controllers not up to standard? And which 8BitDo controller did you have in mind?

I just want one because people talk about them lol, I only use controller on xbox and have the series X controller, so I don't really need one.. I have also a extra xbox one controller if I want to play on Mac, even have the steam controller.

And are you happy with those controllers?

If so, you don’t really need one.

Plus I think 8BitDo’s best controllers are on Switch and PC anyway.

Yeah like C-Dub mentioned the one that everyone typically wants is the bt ultimate, probably(?) mainly because of the hall effect sticks, and that's Switch and PC only. The ones that are aimed at xbox are not super "special" in any way.

Personally I would also prefer if the bt ultimate came with AA battery compartment instead of the built-in rechargeable battery. From what I looked at online, it seems like swapping that at any point in the future requires soldering, which isn't great. And they themselves don't sell the battery at least right now, so there's that too.

I think I saw on Reddit someone warning another user to not buy the bluetooth version because it didn't have the hall effect sticks... so yeah, just double check.

Edit: if I had kept reading the thread - instead of replying straight away - I'd have noticed that others had already come up with better answers than mine.

I'm taking that model into consideration, but my main worry is the reliability of the face buttons. I just want something as duranle as my PS2 duakshock (which even had analog face buttons!). I don't know whether to wait for the new version of the Xbox controller... assuming they've improved their engineering and QA.

Pseudoregalia was a lot of fun. It's a platform and exploration heavy metroidvania. It's not going to hold any hands, so you will get lost and have to experiment with your skills. I really enjoyed my time with it, 8ish hours for 6 bucks is a steal. Warning: there is no map, but they are adding one. I know that's a big thing for some. Warning #2: there's weird fanart for the game.

Yeah, I have the black and white versions of this pad. Can confirm it has Hall effect.

For the black one I bought replacement face buttons so it has the Xbox layout, and it’s my daily driver. The white version is my Switch controller.

Bummer, I didn't notice the Nintendo layout. Was it really easy to mod ?

So I finally did the thing today, and linked one side of my flat with the other via Ethernet cable. Well, I didn't do it, an electrician did. But it's done.

First thing I did was connect via my Steam Deck to my office PC to see how remote play works compared to when I was using the powerline adapter, and it's pretty much perfect. No more lag, no more stuttering. Silky smooth 60fps with hardly any noticeable latency.

About as good as you can expect remote play to be.

Bummer, I didn't notice the Nintendo layout. Was it really easy to mod ?
I'd give it a 3/10 in terms of difficulty.

I had to find a video showing a teardown before I felt confident taking it apart. There's a relatively fragile ribbon cable connecting the front panel to the main controller board, but you don't need to disconnect that to replace the buttons so long as you're careful.

I used the official ABXY buttons from 8BitDo.

Grisaia: Chronos Rebellion censored on Steam

Grisaia: Chronos Rebellion, an all-ages visual novel, is the next anime-style game to be censored on Steam due to “ethical standards”.

The official Twitter account for the game released a message stating that the Steam release will differ from the original Japanese version, as a part of the “CG and presentation” will differ (the story will remain the same).

I know this kind of censorship is loved by western audience but well another game mods have to fix.

With everyone talking about 8bitdo's controllers, I'd like to to offer an alternative.

This expensive hunk of plastic is, hands down, the best controller I have ever used.

It's not perfect. The sticks aren't hall-effect, and it seems to require Steam input to work properly on PC (I think Victrix provides their own software as well, but I haven't bothered, since Steam input has me covered so far).

But in all other areas, this thing is amazing. The sticks are great, and it comes with a taller and smaller one that can be swapped in (I believe the tension can be adjusted as well). The face buttons and bumpers are snappy. The triggers have a hair-trigger lock that feels better than any other controller I've used with that feature. It also has proper back buttons instead of paddles, and they're comfortably positioned. It also comes with a swappable panel that lets you replace the right side of the controller with 6-buttons to make it into a dedicated fightpad. You can also reverse the directions of the existing panels, allowing you to have symmetrical, or asymmetrical sticks/buttons in whatever configuration you prefer.

But the thing that made me absolutely fall in love with the BFG Pro is the d-pad.

The controller comes with two alternate d-pad shapes you can snap on: a conventional d-pad, and an xbox 360 styled one. But this default, chunky-looking diamond is, no joke, the best d-pad I have ever used. It is remarkably precise and feels more comfortable than most d-pads as well. I had been P-ranking Pizza Tower when I got this controller, and I immediately saw improvement in my play (I stopped misinputing diagonals where I had been doing it constantly before). It's so well made for precise, 2D games.

IDK how many people are obsessive enough about their controllers to shell out for this thing, but it's been worth it for me.

I had considered that controller, but no gyro was a dealbreaker for me, which is a shame, everything about it looked amazing,

Crossing my fingers that I can bring my save from BNET to Steam.
Diablo 4 has cross save across every platform so Bnet -> Steam should work fine. Just be sure to link your Steam account to Bnet before starting the game.

Overwatch 2 cheevs were retroactive. I would think Diablo 4 should work the same way.
