So, regarding the Trails series, I see they are well regarded by some people here and I have some of them on Steam but... what is the correct order to play?

I know this is the first one:

But i see a lot of them on Steam and browsing on the internet some of them seem to use different names so I'm getting kinda confused.

Can someone help me with the order thing? Preferably on Steam o_Oo_Oo_O

MAC sucks for video games, who knew.

dont tell Le Pertti

That is tasty.

Linux is being taken more seriously as a platform, for Desktop-related tasks (gaming), than Apple products. Never thought I'd see the day.

At long last, is this the prophesied Year of the Linux Desktop? 🐧

Why does that penguin emoji have a generic file icon over its head? (edit: which is next to it in the actual post; there is something very wonky here)
the emoji stuff is a bit broken

(but yeah, gaming on linux has never been such a breeze, it truely is awesome... if it wasnt for 2-3 instances of "i need to do this one very particular thing in photoshop" i would not have used windows (outside of work) in several years now

Also, Ego Draconis (and especially the expansion) is way better than either of the Original Sin games.
Rough around the edges, poorly balanced, and so much more charming than the MMO structure the games would develop while trying to come back to Divine Divinity 1... while forgetting that RPGs need more than an endless slurry of shit side quests to grind for +1 damage.

I still hate how OS2 became so popular while vomiting on the very concept of itemization and world building, preferring their self contained islands of check lists and worthless rewards. They are the Ubilikes of CRPGs.

I was just gotta post, you need to post more stuff ... i think 300 posts is the threshold?
So, at an average rate of 265/1042 = 0.25 posts/day, I'll get there in (300 - 265) / 0.25 = 140 days.

To be hidden behind so formidable a defence, this "broken emojii" thread must contain some great secret ... like the link to Bloodborne PC, probably... I'll see whether I can find a tutorial on "shitposting" on the internet

Man, The Quarry and House of Ashes are cool (Metal Hellsinger too, I guess) but I have a hard time biting the bullet.
The more games I have in my library the more difficult it is to justify buying bundles.

However the controls are kind of absolute ass to figure out on controller versus just using mouse and keyboard

Downunder.
Gotta say, I don't like the new steam screenshot manager, it's slow compared to the previous one, especially after deleting shots. Hope they'll fix it. Right now it's more form over function, like Win 11.
It's also a bit inconsistent. Apart from fact that it sometimes failed to upload the screenshots, the BPM interface to set spoiler/caption etc is missing when uploading via the "My Stuff" > Screenshots section. There's also a bunch of stuff like the marker for already-uploaded screenshots missing, disordering, etc.

This post listed a bunch of stuff that is still not addressed:

Try this demo. The game is quite good and this japanese/town is surprisingly well recreated.

I'm guessing that the cars are not licensed?

But yeah that town does look cool to look at.

-------------------
I have only played a bit of Cyberpunk 2077 way back when it first launched and only played less than 4 hours from what I remember (turns out I played it for 11 hours.) I am not watching the anime. I like it. It has that Trigger style to it. Music is nice. It both feels like an anime and also doesn't

By the looking at the Steam avatars in the point shop and stuff, some games still do support that and others don't it is nice when they do. Devs have said that they don't make money from it, but that they do it as a way for fans to share their love for the game. I'm surprised that Konami actually made some for Ketsu and they look really nice as well. I say they look nice, I mean that the animations are a lot smoother than the ones that Capcom released for their games. I thought that Capcom stopped doing point shop stuff but I was wrong and they are still making new stuff. Ghost Detective has an animated avatar and portrait

That Robocop demo is alright. It's got that AA ps2-360 era feel. The atmosphere kinda reminds me of The Darkness 1.

Oh, and I found my controller replacement (my elite V2 was busted). I was sure my old DS4 was defective too but... No. It was dusty but perfectly functional (I managed to get a 10 mil combo on thps 1+2). It's almost as good a find as when years ago I found in a drawer* a ~3-4 year old Christmas envelope with 200 CHF in it ('bout 200$).

*as you can probably tell, tidiness is not my forte.

We can try to rewrite history as much as we like but the fact is that Larian's games prior to D:OS weren't that good and I've been there since Divine Divinity. (Edit: I never played that strategy game they released between Divinity 2 and D:OS)
Their previous failings were in fact the reason why I didn't back D:OS because I didn't believe they could achieve what they listed in their campaign page. Fast-forward a couple of years and the reality is they achieved everything they promissed and when D:OS2 campaign launched I was one of the first 100 backers.

I loved Divinity 2 though. Lots of goofy characters, like the rhyming wizard, overly dramatic story and you get to turn into a fricking dragon and attack giant flying fortresses. The novelty of that did wear a bit thin near the end, but I still remember having many enjoyable hours with that game.

I agree though, that it was less Larians previous games that got many people to back Original Sin 1, rather than Larian's passion for RPGs and the great vision they had for that game. I was in a similar boat where I didn't back the first game, and only backed the second one.

I mean, I think it's strange to talk about "rewriting history" when I'm linking to unaltered history ;)
Clearly, I thought that Divinity II was good back in 2009, without any knowledge of what Larian would go on to do in the future and so no incentive to "rewrite history".

I'd agree that their games certainly weren't very polished, especially at initial release, but even back then I personally already valued games doing something interesting much more highly than them being polished. They were also very front-loaded, but honestly they still are to some extent even now when they are almost universally praised :p

I didn't back DOS until they said they were going to do day/night cycles and NPC schedules. Of course, then they cut that feature before launch. Still great games though.

Sorry, maybe "rewriting history" wasn't the best expression to use, all I meant to say is that we can look back with fondness to what they did but the fact, as far as I'm concerned, is that what they did wasn't very good.
I do concede however that all the stuff they did since the beginning transpired passion and care, in spite of it's lack of polish.

Interesting, didn't know that they promised this. They have never implemented this in any future games after OS1. Not even in Baldurs Gate 3, though it wouldn't really work there in all areas, like the shadow-cursed lands, for obvious reasons.

NPC Schedules are the most "cool-to-have-but-functionally-useless" feature in videogames and i mad respect every videogame that does it.
It's only functionally useless if they make it so. Real time elements like that can always add to the experience in meaningful ways. The time of day and weather etc. can affect gameplay rather than be a mere visual change and schedules like that can make it a requirement to experience the intended gameplay aspect.

Very interesting, thanks for sharing.
I have mixed feelings about translations, and kind of unpopular opinion. I can understand localization but I really prefer literal translation. Maybe in videogames is not as usual as happens in anime, but recently localization is used to completely change the author intention, to the point of changing the personality of the character cause it doesn’t fit culturally to the beliefs of the person who is localizating them or worse, when the translator introduces political deviations, that's why I personally prefer that it simply be like a virtual machine. This is getting pretty common with crunchyroll subs and since those platforms have all that anime with “official”translation, less and less fansubs with more accurate translation decide to release anything. Onimai translation was a crime xD.
I hear you and I'm not a fan of Pokemon style onigiri = jelly donut or Ace Attorney changing the setting from Japan to America style localization either. It's a fine line you have to walk as a translator and honestly even a lot of praised Square localizations are too overlocalized and overwritten to my taste (FFXIV, DQ11 for example).
FWIW some of my favorites are Trails in the Sky trilogy, Utawarerumono Mask of Deception/Truth, and Great Ace Attorney duology.

What kinds of changes did DQ11 make?
