I spent a lot of money this month on stuff and totally forgot about the Steam Seal. My buying stuff finger is really itchy so I dunno if the seal is bad or good for me :/

My gf has gotten me an audiophile level headphones, so fucking hyped for Christmas! But I am wondering has anyone here any experience with headphone amps, especially one that I can use on the steam deck? Checked out Ali express and saw some cheap ones that should do the job?
So I assume you are looking at a setup where the amp would be connected to a Dock, not dangling from your Steam Deck while you use it as a handheld, right? For a mobile device, I would recommend some bluetooth head or earphones as dealing with cables on a portable device is just annoying.

I hope Steam never becomes curated. There are so many gems on Steam that will probably never get released other places.

If you make 2 mixed reviewed vr games for 2 different platforms.. maybe you should rethink your next game instead of trying to blame somebody else?

Im actually talking about having dangle lol, but it would be home of course so it wouldn't be a huge issue, when Im out and about I do have a bluetooth headset to use. But I do want to have my good headphones on deck too, but do think they are a bit hard to drive. Can't test until Christmas though, so might still be good enough.

Seems like the RTX 4080 Super will replace the 4080 and the 4070 Ti Super will replace the 4070 Ti, while the 4070 Super and regular 4070 will co-exist, which makes sense since if the 4070 were to be discontinued, there would be a huge gap in performance between 4060 Ti and 4070 Super.

I do however wish they would make a dedicated Adult only section for all the porn games and put down proper guidelines for those games and dont be so wishy washy about it.

also add a filter for adulty only items on the new n trending and popular upcoming list similar to the top seller list where you can exclude f2p.
Both of these things already exist though? There is a dedicated section for all the adult content and it isn't visible to anyone by default. You need to be signed in to Steam and have a setting enabled to see them in the store.

I would test them out first, and see how they sound. With high-resistance headphones, the risk it that things will sound a bit muted without the amp. Cannot really help with what type of amp to go for, though, never had headphones that needed one.

I know about those filters and they are useless unless you want to hide the games completly from the store which i do not want.
My bad is not realizing there is a adult only theme among the other 50 categories now.
but if you actually use those mature filters that section is devoid of any games.

This game has been quietly getting a lot of praise, it does not seem too long to play through either.

Unsure if I will get anything from the Steam sale. My time to play games has been so limited the past month and a half. I still need to complete several games I was/am enjoying first.
Annnnnnnnnd bought. This looks right up my alley.

My problem with how Valve handles AO content is the lack of delineation between games with AO content and pornography. For instance, Fear & Hunger is adults-only, but not pornographic. To find games like it, I have to enable the AO content toggle. But, since there are lots of cheap porn games selling well enough to get algorithmic boosts, my feed gets cluttered with games I have zero interest in.

There are almost always a few trashy-looking porn games in my New & Trending / Upcoming / Special Offers lists, and it's frustrating to think I've probably missed some cool games that got pushed out by those titles, just because I want to be able to find stuff like Fear & Hunger.

This is the first since that Steam's peak concurrent numbers have been down YOY since pre-COVID. I've noticed the YOY growth had been slipping for several months, but this is the first time it has been straight up lower. The wild thing is there are a bunch of different factors that could have affected it. I'm not trying to be a doomer, but I'd love to know what is causing it.

Hardware and software both getting more expensive over the last however many years would be my guess.

That or people are sick of all the anime games so they are abandoning the hobby.

Growth is not eternal and at some point you will get user attrition. This may be permanent, or temporary.

But I think a combination of bad ports and extortionate hardware prices will stunt the platform’s growth.

When pastures are greener we’ll see improvements again.

Regional price sucks not only in games but in hardware too, you should check how much a new rtx card cost.

To add to the other posts about this, we're well into post-COVID times now, with people being forced back to work in the office and no restrictions on travel for holidays. So, people losing 1-3 hours a day commuting (less time in the day to play/relax), and people able to leave the house for things they want to do.

Not even a month later.
That's not a sale specific to Alan Wake 2. It already costs like 55$, that was the base price. And Epic is giving a 33% reduction on everything. Lower base price (compared to crazy AAA prices), plus the generous coupon make for a lower price. Of course Alan Wake 2 on EGS isn't selling, but this price isn't indicative of that. Just that Epic is insane and likes wasting money.
Also, credit where it's due, Alan Wake 2 is like the only game on EGS where they actually have a lower base price compared to consoles.

Im thinking about having the GOTY voting go from 5 of December to 5 of January. Im still open to new categories to vote on! Or any other tips or advice people might have?
  • worst(best) (ai-generated) "we are sorry" letter from a gaming company
  • most laid-off workers
  • best sex scene in a non-porn game
  • worst regional pricing
  • best regional pricing
  • worst port

While it's fair to call it a stagnation, saying it's down YOY because the momentary users are down by 0.3% (while the average users are up by 0.4%, and the in-game users are up by 2.3%) seems a bit early.

That said, compared to the growth so far, a stagnation is of course still a significant slowdown. Steam might be getting closer to reaching a saturation point -- which would also make moves like the Steam Deck that may expand the audience beyond PC gamers more attractive for Valve. Perhaps they already saw this coming in their analysis a while ago.

I'm disappointed dreamlight valley isn't on sale when it is on the PSN black friday sale. The price goes up on dec. 5th too so it's not like I can choose to wait for winter.

Are the prices bugged? A bunch of games are hitting all time lows for me? Callisto Protocol for 9$? Forza Horizon 5 for 16? Bruh I'm gonna go crazy at this point lol.

23$ for the new Lords of the Fallen, 28$ for Liest of P? What is going on lmao

Derrick playing Dreamlight Valley? No i have seen everything XD

And in my infinite wisdom i started another long ass game. If it wasn't enough that i started GTA V again, decided to replay RDR2 on PC finally (spend 90h on PS4), that i am half way through Talos 2 after 18h, now i went and started playing Final Fantasy VII Remake on Deck...

If you do need one, I think there are some good aux port ones that some people use for amp on their phones (although obviously USB C is way more common now) so you can search for those. I've only ever really looked into desktop amps for myself so I can't recommend anything specifically
