that game is King of Kinks (a latter makes all the difference!)
it's one of those F2P hentai gacha games published by Nutaku
I thought that the game that he wanted to look up was called King of Kings and when I looked it up, it was not on Steam at all but there does seem to be an actual mobile game that goes by that name that is on the Google Play store.

I'm aware of the game that he clicked on is King of Kinks. But I'm not sure as to why he was looking it up in the first place. Either he was tricked into looking up King of Kinks or he really was trying to look up King of Kings.

All the best for 2025!
I know, I know preaching to the choir.

On one hand, what he says makes some sense (your actions have consequences) on the other bigger hand think of the stuff that we were able to experience because of how digital is an option.

Think of how crazy it is that you can have solo dev games that can be released in this day and age and sell tens of thousands of copies.

I was not really buying games for as long as you guys have but I would imagine that game stores look a lot different then, than they do now.

So many cool and unique indie games that otherwise may never have been released. Think of all the people world wide that have easier access to a game (for the most part)

It's also funny seeing how some indie devs that first released 1 digital game would go on to publish games on multiple platforms and even release physical copies of those games, but they all have their start, and without digital storefronts, that start may have been very different or never have even happened in the first places.

Also this whole post is about videos being sold on digital store front. Valve got rid of the feature last year. Sony also got rid of its digital videos.
Sony does a bad thing

"Steam bad"

For whatever reason, in the store column all 5 checks were on by default. I never changed any of these settings.
Thanks for pointing this out, I'll disable the last 3 and from now on I'll finally be free from all the porn/hentai games being showcased.
I have all the adult content boxes checked, but I literally never see any porn games. I think this is because I filter out tags "anime", "hentai", and "visual novel". It's annoying, because I don't want to filter out games that happen to have sex in them, and I do want to see some anime games. I just don't want the porny crap. This seems to be a decent tradeoff, though.

Of the 3 sex-related filtering options, the third one is specifically for porn. You're not going to miss out on games with occasional, thematically appropriate sex by not checking it, and there's no need to filter by tags. You might even be fine by also disabling the second option; stuff like Cyberpunk or BG3 is already included when you check the first one.

Valve should let filter by tags. It's so annoying, I want to ignore all that disgusting furry crap games.
tag filtering it's my most wanted Steam feature.

I have complicated feelings on all this

The pros of digital certainly are that it lowered the barrier to many game devs, plus I'd be buried alive under the sheer weight of games if I owned everything that I have on Steam physically.

That being said I do absolutely worry about preservation with digital goods in general, and there's enough examples now to show that it's a shit show imo, as current legislation on digital rights is plain crap and allows for it. I'm actually shocked the EU hasn't attempted anything yet in fact.

But on Steam vs other storefronts, Steam is (with the exception of GOG) probably as good as it gets in today's world wrt digital gaming.
In theory Steam could go down tomorrow but it's very much extremely unlikely, given it's sheer size, success, private business model, not being tied to selling distinct hardware products, and it being the defacto standard for pc gaming.
Even if it did though you could presumably back up any DRM free and Valve games I expect.
But the rest?...

PC is an open platform but that being said it's still not bullet proof when the core issue is that the reliant services have to be maintained.
There are many games on Steam that require linkages to other services that I don't trust to stick around in the same way (UPlay, Epic, 2K, R*) or use Denuvo (the DRM that for all intents and purposes finally beat the pirates, and if its servers go down can cut off access to games as was seen a couple years ago).

But even still it's all a damn sight better than console storefronts tied to hardware with distinct product lifecycles where backwards compatibility isn't guaranteed anymore.

tldr
yeah it's shite, I think about it a surprisingly high amount, and I still buy most of my console games and movies on disc tbh cos fuck em

Hm, ok. I'm going to try unchecking the last 2 and re-enable anime tags, because although anime is inherently evil, there are some anime games I do like. The mature content descriptions would be much more useful if they included examples of games that would be filtered out. That's probably a lot of work, though.

Picked up an external SSD (Samsung Shield 1 tb) and now Starfield is actually playable for me. Hurray!

Yes, never had an SSD for games before, only for the OS. Now my desktop can survive a bit longer, hopefully until RTX 5000 series is out.

Maybe I'm misunderstanding what you mean, but for me each of the categories has a link that shows examples of the games that it would filter out.

Just a heads up for no one that cares but me:

They put out a remaster patch for a Point and click game I thought was really cool a long time ago because they found the original art for the game so they were able to upscale it all to 4k, plus it's got achievements and stuff now

Can't imagine playing any modern games these days without an SSD. Its too frustrating. Especially something like Starfield.

Just for fun I put Baldurs Gate 3 on my old seagate hdd around release and it was rough asf. Basically had to sit at title screen for several minutes for everything to properly load up and then another couple of minutes once you load into a save. You get to see sections of the map slowly load in. Its eventually playable but you gotta be patient lol. I guess its better than nothing for those who don't have ssd or space.

I should play BG3 today !
But every time I do so I find myself 3 hours later having cleared a tiny clump of map, having talked with a myriad of npc.

I‘m REALLY not advocating for monster bashing full time, but in my mind Act 1 and 2 mixed the two elements far better than 3.

As one of the few people around who liked that PS4 Sakura Wars: don't do this to me...
We are on the same boat. I love the game.

Sadly I don't think they will do another one. At least not in foreseeable future. SEGA loves their Yakuza. I bet Sakura Wars and Valkyria Chronicles are not on their to-do list.

What is suprising is that only Starfield has actually felt unplayable on the HDD. I was 100% expecting Cyberpunk to be that game, but Cyberpunk was fully playable.

Fist of the North Star and Like a Dragon are both considered important enough to get their own row
If only there was a game they could release on Steam which combined these 2 worlds
Yeah... Fist of the North Star, Sakura Wars, Virtua Fighter 5 remaster, Catherine Full Body, SMT5 and Vanillaware in general, I think these are the major omissions on PC from the past several year?

To be fair, many of these are released before / during Yakuza blow up on steam, so I can see why they are not releasing a PC port before. But now? I guess the numbers from a few years ago were not convincing enough.

Ah, dunno why they're not working, I'm using firefox without 3rd party ad blockers, using mostly default privacy/security settings, the embeds are loading for me.
I'm using Firefox with ublock and adguard, and the embeds load. Just for another data point.

When I'm at home they work fine, but in my work pc and my phone they don't load.
I might have done something on my home pc to enable the embeds but I can't remember if I did so...

decided to start Ryza 3

that sounds incredibly stupid on valve part, but so is not allowing to disable for yourself community added tags to games via an option in the account settings
They seem to be at a beach. I have read enough manga to see where this is going.

Crazy to think that this was already a thing but they forgot to mention it in the first place and are only mentioning it now, that some one asked them about it.

TYPE-MOON released a TVCM for the Steam version

I'm guessing that 15 seconds is the norm for Japanese commercials? Since that just seems way too short. In the US, around 30 seconds is the shortest commercials that you will see and some can go on for as long as 1 minute. I think that some use to be just 15 seconds years ago but overtime that changed. The only one that I can find that was 15 seconds was the 1996 M&Ms meet Santa Claus commercial.

Today I contacted two different craftsmen to repair 4x power outlets and 2x windows. I'm expecting to be ruined, but on the bright side I won't live like a hobo. You gotta look on the bright side of life !
