Maybe something broken on my "end", but Steam just refuses to show any DLC in the client. The store says I have the HD dlc but client just boots the standard game, no popup or even a DLC option in properties. I know it works for others so no idea whats happening here for me
EDIT:
Oh, I see that DLC is only available for the Windows version, whereas Steam downloads the Linux version by default. So you need to enable a Proton version to see Dusk HD on the Steam Deck. Kinda hope the devs either enable the HD mode on the Linux build or just disable it and let it run via Proton.

Major Seasonal Sales
Four times a year, we run Steam-wide seasonal sale events. These events are open to all released games to participate with a discount.

Themed Sale Events (Fests)
Each of these fests is built around shining a spotlight on a particular category of games with corresponding eligibility criteria for each. These events prioritize discounted games, but also have space for free games, upcoming releases, and games with demos.

Next Fest
Running three times a year, Steam Next Fest is a multi-day celebration where fans can try out demos, chat with developers, watch livestreams, and learn about upcoming games on Steam. For developers, Steam Next Fest is an opportunity to get early feedback from players and build an audience for a future launch on Steam.

It would be neat if they followed Apple here, where the 30% is dropped for a lower one (15%) for all games until they reach their first million dollar gross revenue. Would be a huge benefit for smaller devs.
Yeah it really surprises me that steam doesn’t do that. Instead only big games get lower cut.

Can't wait. Demo was so good. Gaiden itself too. VF3tb & SpikeOut (& strip clubs instead of - as well as? I think the demo had one though it wasn't a mini game, just a party health/whatever refill - cabaret clubs, lol) & more.

Against the Storm I haven't played in ages, and it is arguably the best city builder/strategy game I've ever played.
Just the perfect use of rogue lite elements to always get more of the best part of the genre, the early game. It always end by the time the genre normally gets boring, and every run is wildly different, no doubt even more so now.

reason against:
  • Gift cards.
  • anticompetitive behavior
  • goodbye 3rd party shops
  • that sets a precedent where you would want to redirect sales from Steam after the first million
  • like I always said, the survival or financial success of a dev never was dependent on the cut. Your tiny dev with 1000 sales wouldn't be more successful just because he got 50 dollars more
  • from an economic standpoint, this doesn't make any sense, you drop the cut AFTER the game made you "enough" money to negate your running costs in hosting the game.

Maybe I'm biased, but I so don't see the point of having a chip in there that draws up to 28W. He didn't even go over that in the video, showing only a test with 22W, and even that was barely over an hour. So something that draws the full 28W from the chip, will likely be way under an hour with the total system draw. What's the point of a handheld device if that's the worst-case battery life. Compare that to the Steam Deck OLED which is at over 2 hours in the absolute worst case. Having a 720p screen would have been so much more intelligent.

The only thing I can think is running it at lower watts in handheld but juicing it when it’s docked to get more performance when battery is not an issue.

But I wonder how many people will actually use these handhelds docked when they more than likely have a good daily driver PC.

That kinda thing might be more valuable in the future, if we start seeing more people use handheld PCs as their main device.

I'm sure that people here already know.

E3 is now officially dead,

Out of all the major video game companies, Valve is still the only one that is not a part of the ESA. Isn't the ESA also a lobbying group?

Valve not being a part of the ESA makes sense seeing how Steam doesn't require for games to have an ESRB rating, which is one of the jobs of the ESA.

They are however members of the Keighly awards though.

Which might explain why they were one of the big companies that "jumped in" on the very first Summer Fest and did the whole demo thing.

It would have been nice to have gone to E3 just once, it was only in it's last years when they finally were allowing the general public to buy tickets to attend the event. Looks like it was around 15k people that they were allowing to buy those tickets. The first 1k tickets were being sold for $150USD and the rest of the 14k tickets were being sold for $250USD. If I had known I maybe would have talked to some friends and we could have gone to that 2017 E3, 2017 was a legendary year, we had not had a year like that since 2004 and 1998

I mean the original point of E3 was just marketing meet up "My game is doing XYZ" and places like Gamestop, bestbuy, etc going there and seeing what the up and coming games are and putting in buy orders along with a lot of random companies trying to sell gaming accesory shit.

There was the other stuff which was there was literally hundreds of closed door meetings through out the entire week for like every gaming company that existed so that you could essentially have a 1 on 1 with representitives from them and maybe pitch something or collaborate or get hired or whatever

Valve for example never really presented anything officially at E3 but they always had a Meeting room booked for like a decade+ on the upper floor area

It just slowly devolved into a giant media fest of being more media focused instead of industry (Which it was barely industry focused)

My only real "Fear" at this point is with it being dead dead is that they're going to make GDC(Game Developer Conference) in San Francisco super advertised and marketed and over the top when it isnt like E3 at all it's not about announcing shit or any of that. It was just meeting up with other developers and learning from each other without having all the marketing BS thrown all over the place but that slowly just leaked into it.

Ubisoft should eefinitely bring back Heroes of Might and Magic now that turn-based games are very much in vogue.
They can't make good games in genres where they were leaders once and you want them to make something like that? XD

Ubisoft today simply can't make anything better than 8/10 at best. And while they often aim for 8/10 they deliver 6-7/10.

Any M&M game will just be an open world map icon clearing snorefest.

I think if Ubisoft can shoehorn an idea into their FarCry/AC formula, all other considerations are thrown out the window.

MIght & Magic X: Legacy was amazing, and Might and Magic is in fact an open world series and has basically been one for longer than that term has existed, but I have absolutely 0 expectations on Ubisoft delivering anything even remotely worth playing.

Based off the thread that I saw from CommodoreKong

I looked more into what the Heart of Racing has been doing and from the looks of it. It's doing pretty well. They have entered a lot of big races in 2025.

Based off the information that I found the Heart of Racing took part in Le Mans and took 6th place out of 60+cars?

"“In addition to our presence in the FIA Formula 1® World Championship, Aston Martin’s return to the pinnacle of endurance racing will allow us to build a deeper connection with our customers and community, many of whom found their passion for the brand through our past success at Le Mans. And of course, the complex knowledge-base we are building through our F1® team is data that Aston Martin Performance Technologies can harness to further enhance the capabilities of the Valkyrie racecar at Le Mans, in WEC and IMSA. Just as the learnings we gain through endurance competition will feed directly into our road car programmes, further improving the ultimate performance of our products. I would like to thank Gabe Newell and Heart of Racing for partnering with Aston Martin on this programme, and I look forward to working with him and the team as we aim for success in the greatest endurance race of them all.”"

The last Ubisoft game I've played was... Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood, I think?
They just made it really easy to ignore their stuff tbh.

That means you completely missed out on the 1.5 Year timeframe where they tried to be an Indiepublisher and made a bunch of outstanding 10€ games just to bury it all as quickly as possible.

But otherwise i agree.

I was pointed towards this:

A browser extension which points you towards independent wikis and replaces search results from content farms (like fandom), which usually have better SEO.

Seems to do exactly what it is supposed to, and is highly configurable, so I recommend it!
