I have a public service announcement about the Fallout series.

As a connoisseur of gaming with impeccable taste and blinding wisdom, I have come to a scientific conclusion about the quality of the various games in the series...

As you can see, numbers cannot lie.

Now I know some of you are fans of Fallout 4 because it was made by same people who made the oldest, crappy Fallout games from 20 years ago. I understand that the scientific facts I am presenting before you today will upset you but I am here to inform you that your non scientific opinions are wrong, have always been wrong and the prospects of you being not wrong at any point for the rest of your lives are dire.

What do these studios do?
Sven talked about this a lot during their dev logs. Basically, having studios around the world, at different time zones allows them to work on games around the clock. So the issues that one team identifies can be worked on by another studio overnight and you can test the next morning if things have been addressed. Basically using the fact that the sun never sets on Larian to their advantage

Finished Depression the Game (Plague Tale 2) over the weekend. That is a really good game with amazing visuals accompanied with great OST and well written and acted characters. . I really enjoyed (if you can call game this depressing enjoyable XD) every moment spent in it. They did refine gameplay compared to the first game but didn't make it complex. There is some repetition but nothing major. Overall Asobo made AA game that can put to shame some of the AAAA games out there.

Here are few screenshots

Noe i need to find something cheerful to play for a change XD

How is the story compared to the first one? I remember really enjoying the first game all the way until the end when the story went completely off the rails with the whole supernatural bullshit. Now that it's established in the universe did they just pick up from there or does it walk it back in any way?

Game basically continues where first one stopped. In general fantastical elements are bit toned down at leas until the 3rd act. But i didn't mined it and i would say that it is done more tastefully in the sequel. I personally liked how they mixed history and fantasy.

Hellblade 2 is releasing tomorrow and NO ONE is talking about it.

I feel like Microsoft is saving on Marketing for this game because they're planning to shatter Ninja Theory next but at least wanna push the game out quickly first.

Yea they are probably done for.

Even if Hellblade 2 wins awards they could easily shut them down like Tango.

Xbox needs high impact titles and this team just spent 5 years making a singleplayer game that is 8 hours long. And they had that Bleeding Edge flop not that long ago too.

The team is very talented tho. If they can make a game like Hellblade and Hellblade 2...you can't tell me they can't make you a big impact title.

And media plugin needs update for Twitter because it is now x.com and not twitter.com XD

I for one am looking forward to Hellblade II, although it will be difficult to tear myself away from Sushima. That game is really damn fun.

And yeah Plague Tale 2 Requiem was great and graphically one of the greatest ever. Insanely good marriage of art and tech talent.

Been playing Ghost of Tsushima and it's absolutely fantastic, they really nailed the combat and art direction here. Jin is kind of a bland character but maybe it changes by the end of the game. One thing I noticed about this port in comparison to other Playstation PC ports is that this game didn't require any kind of Shader Compilation (or at least not that I remember), I just went straight into gameplay which means that Nixxes did a fantastic job with this port. Even HFW needed shader compilation.

Where is the 20% off code? I couldn't find it. I have a few of the games but I might bite, it's a lot of stuff.
The 20% code was mistakenly active for the game bundle for less than an hour before they fixed it. It was only meant for ebooks I think. You can use OMEN10 to get 10% off on the game bundle now.

Song of Conquest (the return of Heroes of Might & Magic) is now at 1.0 and officially out of early access
Oh snap this is out?

I gotta go back and check it out. Played a teeny bit early on in the EA period but I'm not sure what changed. HOMM II and III are some GOAT TBS games so I'm definitely interested in stuff that riffs on that theme.

It doesn't change. Jin and most of the characters in that game are personality black holes. That combined with the game structure being VERY ubisoft is why I had such a hard time with it in 2020. I couldn't understand the strong reception it got from players at all.

Looks like they did not mention Melody of Memory. I wonder why,

Edit: They have a blog post about the annoucement
KINGDOM HEARTS HD 1.5 + 2.5 ReMIX features textural updates to its graphics, while purchasing KINGDOM HEARTS III + ReMind DLC or the INTEGRUM MASTERPIECE bundle will give you a new platform-exclusive Keyblade: “Dead of Night."
No Melody of Memory, KH1&2 may have new textures, and a new exclusive Keyblade for KHIII

Since its still separate entries I'm guessing they'll do the EGS pricing and the new bundle entry will give a small discount.

Expecting this to be expensive asf :(

Gonna be like Etrian Odyssey

wait where's Melody of Memory
KINGDOM HEARTS HD 1.5 + 2.5 ReMIX features textural updates to its graphics
wait what does this mean
Do they mean the textural changes that were already there in 1.5 and 2.5, or something new? Its mentioned in the same sentence as the new keyblade

Ok I was wrong about the game but still lol. Fucking called it. Leave it to them to randomly drop something like this in the same month as SMTV, Shadow of the Erdtree and (technically) Dawntrail and wonder why it sells like shit.

Then again, Kingdom Hearts might be big enough of an IP for it not to matter. :shrugblob:

Y'know, I've been thinking, and Stellar Blade just brings it to the forefront again

...The failures of Square Enix's PS5 exclusives, paired with Stellar Blade being a hit... Is it really a PS5 Exclusivity Problem, or a Final Fantasy is Unappealing Problem?

Because, like, I've seen a lot of "Final Fantasy isn't cool anymore/is for boomers/I don't play MMOs" talk in regards to FF out there.

Also, I know this news was several hours ago but just to get my 2c in

Paradox is the problem with Paradox-published games. The list of developers they've worked with and dropped because "we were unable to come to an [xyz] agreement" or "the studio was unable to meet our deadlines" is too long to be natural; They drop studios at nearly the same rate as Japanese prosecutors score convictions.

Hearts of Iron: East Vs. West was the canary in the coalmine. There's Bethesdaesque fuckery going on at Paradox Interactive, but they don't have the "weight" that Bethesda did to be propositioning developers with An Offer You Can't Refuse.
