Im curios why theyre exluding the rythm game from the steamrelease tho.
Not like it's important to anything, but i'd still like to have it for completionist sakes.

It's been a while since the EGS release. Maybe contracts/license expired in the interim?

get back in the egg miquella, you're ruining the continuity...
Separating soul from body is very much a thing in ER (Godwin, Ranni,...).

The trailer states that Miquella abandoned "his golden flesh".

The deformed thing in the egg is his body, stolen by Mohg, but (I infer) bereft of soul, even before the abduction.

His soul is probably somewhere in Shadow, where we'll find him playing blackjack with hookers.

This month has been packed with good indie games :sweaty-blob:

I'm almost finishing 1000xRESIST and I think it will figure in my GOTY list.

Yeah it's been pretty bonkers.

I've been absolutely smitten with Abiotic, a HL/Black Mesa, SCP-inspired survival crafter with an actual sense of humor. And that humor can turn on a dime when you've strayed too far from home base and the power shuts down at night. Legit scary. Also love the setting. It so fresh to be playing a survival game where you don't punch trees, lol.

I suspect this will be making an appearance on my end-of-year list.

I have Kingdom Hearts on PS4 I have the rhythm game on there and I also have all of the other KH games other than 3 and the DLC for 3.

I have this cool steel box that I keep them inside of. I think it was originally meant for KH1 and KH2 for PS3 or something like that.

I used my SE rewards points in order to redeem it.

It's cool how the Raw Fury publisher sale on steam has an image of a person playing on a Steam Deck.

Looks like it's a hit.
--------

According to Steam Kingdom Hearts is not a franchise do to it's lack of a franchise section on its Steam pages.

I honestly can't remember the last time I went to a big media gaming site. Like it's been YEARS.

I follow a LOT of gaming content online, but if it's not traditional message boards like this, it's 99% independent content creators.

People often frame "Influencers" as though it's a dirty word, but in regards to my YouTube feeds, those influencers are some of the most genre-savvy online voices out there.

I love strat/mgmt/sim genres, and YouTube personalities like Nookrium and Ic0n absolutely blow mainstream coverage out of the water. For straight fun brutalmoose and Tomato deliver the goods in the form of Let's Plays. Grim Beard and such do great retrospective coverage. The list goes on and on.

Guess I just don't connect with Big Gaming sites anymore. I don't care about AAA coverage. Top 10 lists are droll. Don't care about rumors and leaks.

Curated online content from trusted personalities is where it's at for me these days.

Paradox is the problem with Paradox-published games.
I was meaning to write something about this too. Something is going wrong at Paradox and if I was a shareholder I'd be concerned.

The problems actually started a couple of years ago. Most people know that this company carpet bombs their games with DLCs but in the last 2-3 years they've tweaked their strategy a bit. Nowadays each game only gets one major expansion DLC per year alongside a few other cosmetic and unimportant DLCs. What has happened is that each of their main games has had a DLC release that has been received very poorly by the community. It happened for Crusader Kings, Hearts of Iron, Stellaris, Vicky and possibly more. Something is going wrong with the development pipeline of their internal studios if they are managing to piss off all their communities.

Then we have the publishing side of things...

Last year they released Lamplighter's League which flopped completely and sank the dev studio Harebrained Schemes. Then came the Star Trek 4X game which sank as well and they abandoned it within months. Then came Cities Skylines 2 and everyone knows what kind of ongoing shitshow that is. Then Millennia which is another 4X with mixed reviews and low player numbers and finally their 3D Factorio clone called Foundry which seems to be doing ok in early access.

For unreleased games, they fired the developers of Prison Architect 2 after delaying it at least twice and have now handed the project over to a new studio 6 months before release. Also, they had a Sims clone called Life by You that was supposed to launch into early access on June 4th and yesterday that got delayed indefinitely as well.

So almost everything seems to be going wrong for the company but I get the feeling that they are fairly complacent about the situation because they (correctly?) believe that they have a captive audience for their games. They brushed off all the criticism of their bad DLCs for their internally developed games and went on to release more and nothing ever came of it. Likewise, I'm certain that Skylines 2 sold a ton of copies (as in, cleared 100 million dollars or more in revenue on Steam) and so all their mea culpas feel hollow. That's why they thought they could start releasing paid DLC for it before having to walk back that decision.

Something is definitely up with this company.

Heh, I remember posting on N64.com message boards back in the 90s before they flipped to IGN.com.
I was just wondering where you were. Hadn't seen you post anything in some time. Always looking forward to your game recommendations for hidden gems and stuff man.
