Lollipop is the only physical 360 game I have left in my collection. In fact it's the last physical game I have from that entire generation. It's also a pointless relic because i don't have an xbox 360 to play it on. I doubt many people will have functioning 18 year old consoles so the advice to 'just buy the 360 version now that it's cheap' is quite silly. This remaster is realistically the only way to play the game now for most people. The original music will get modded in and, if the developers were cognizant of the importance of the original tunes, they should have made it easy to do so.
Had me thinking what physical games I own that still haven't hit Steam...

And looking at my physical games that have any chance and its mostly just PS4 stuff...the only thing I see is Uncharted Nathan Drake collection, Killzone Shadowfall and Last Guardian.

Shadowfall I already played and was very mid.

The Uncharted Drake collection was great and hopefully Sony ports it over one day. And I think they will.

And that just leaves The Last Guardian which I've yet to play but has me thinking that one is not getting ported. Sony probably doesn't give a shit and I doubt it sold well. It is surprising they haven't done some big Ueda collection yet. Individually those games are a tough sell but if they do a big 3 game bundle it would do well on PS5/PS6 and Steam imo.

I played my first game of Deadlock, went 2-9 and had no idea what I was doing, and this is from someone who spent thousands of hours playing Dota 2. I'm actually itching to play some more so it has to be doing something right, but North American servers aren't up until this afternoon.

I think it's neat and it'll have a decent fanbase because hey it's a new Valve game, but it won't be the next big thing. It feels too complicated for Overwatch/TF2 players and too different for Dota/LoL players.

Prince of Persia The Lost Crown is amazing game so far but unfortunately I don't have feeling that I am playing PoP game. Also those fade to black transitions between areas are so annoying, they had to work on seamless transition between areas.

And I would like to see idiot from Ubisoft who came with idea that you need to MANUALLY upload save to cloud. What year is this? And why they couldn't add path to save on Steam too?

Yeah I decided to purchase it too since I finished up Sea of Stars even though I plan on spending $80 on SIns of a Solar Empire 2 next week. I've played it for a few hours so far. Pretty fun little game, really enjoying it.

There’s a substantial number of Westerners that still think that China is just a bunch of villages and factories stuck in then 1970’s.
There is also a substantial number of (console) gamers who don't understand that "the 500 bucks" box is not the equivalent of 500 bucks in most of the world, that it is not a no-brainer to get this box for 1 specific reason (gaming) that it is not even close to the cheapest option to play games.
They can't seem to understand why PC and Mobile gaming is so much cheaper and has so many gamers. You don't buy a 1500 buck PC, you use what you have or can scrap together. You most likely already have a cheap smartphone, that you also use for a dozen other things.

I played 4 hours of TribeNine.

It was better than what I was expecting for a free to play game. I doubt this game will be making hundreds of millions of dollars like Genshin and all those other games. But for what feels like a mix of something done somewhat on a budget but also a higher end thing than Danganronpa it's pretty nice.

There are multiple parts to the game. The baseball game is similar to the trials, bullet time, in Danganronpa. The animation work is very well done. You hit the ball and the character goes running at high speeds.

I didn't die in the game but it has a sort of dark souls thing were you leave an outline were you died so other players can see it.

The gatch part of the game are cards that give you abilities. And also it seems like you need energy to do stuff.

The very beginning part of the game MC thinks he's the hero from DQ and it's latter explained to him that he was being brainwashed.

Also the characters look like a mix up of preexisting Danganronpa characters.

Thank you for your time.
Glad to see its pretty good overall. Its good that the baseball part seems pretty good too!

For characters what are the ways of obtaining it though?

Thanks a lot for the impressions!

One thing that makes my Bloom boil is when they look at the regional prices and think it's cheap, but they dont consider the wages in said country.

Don't miss out on the game itself. There is a lot of good quests and wordbuilding in that game despite the mediocre main storyline. The DLCs are fantastic too especially Far Harbor.
I'll give it a try before I play the mod.

That part I'm not to sure on since I didn't get that far. They do explain some stuff about there being other people and I'm guessing those are the ones that you get to be a part of your party. When it comes to exploration battles I think you can have up to 4 people in your party. In the beginning of the game you get a party of 3 in total. And when it comes to the baseball part of the game I think you get 6+ players to be in your team.

One thing that was funny to me is how people mention that if Pokemon ever become free to play that they would charge you money to revive and heal your pokemon. There is nothing like that in this game and they tell you if a party member gets knocked out you need to go to one of these clinics were they will heal you and revive your teammates for free.

I'll try to play some more later on but I don't think I will play too much since the data doesn't carry over from the beta.

I'm looking forward to the Paris Olympics closing ceremony since it seems that Tom Cruise will be doing something.

Reading the whole discussion starting from this post made me remember a post on ERA about DQ11 which for me encapsulates the general narrow mindness you often see
The whole discussion was about how DQ11 didn't have an official english release date. I don't remember if the game was already out in japan or not. Regardless while reading the thread this one post catches my eyes: "How hard can it be to release the game in the west? Just slap an english translation in it and call it a day"
Now, there is probably an entire discussion you can have about the idea you can just "slap a translation" in a game, so instead I'll focus on this other part: DQ is a big franchise for SE, yes western sales aren't as good as japanese sales but this doesn't stop SE to still try and make the series big worldwide, and as many big franchises you can't just translate it in english and call it a day. Obviously companies would love if you could cut down on budget and still make it big but that's not how the world works, go and ask Capcom, Sega, Nintendo, Sony, Microsoft, EA, Ubisoft, Bamco etc. Since DQ8 (which coincided with the first DQ released in europe) every DQ game is at very least translated in EFIGS, and since the last generation every DQ game supports at least 8 languages. Yet for some people english is the only language that matters, which again goes back to how america is the one country that should matter above all. Even among indie games I struggle to find one only translated in english. It's hard to grasp but translations are extremely important, even if english speaking countries make 75% or more of total buyers (and I don't think this is true!) there are still 25% that do require the extra languages, and that 25% can be pretty damn significant with the biggest releases
Videogame localizations is one of the hills I will always die on and I'm glad more and more companies understand that. So many series are now officially available in italian which was unthinkable even 5 years ago, and it's one of the reasons I have no problem with rereleases or remasters since they offer a convenient way to expand on a game audience, and yes additional translations are the fastest way to go beyond what the original release did (example: EO and 3, which never even got an european release, are now available in EFIGS and more with the HD versions)

This has nothing to do with DQ but it has to do with SE. I remember when they dropped KH 3D they didn't even translated it to spanish (and it wouldn't be until they released 2.8 on ps4 years later) or dissidia 012 that came partially translated (that is, the story was translated but the rest of the game was fully in english) wild times.

Even today Dissidie 012 is one of my biggest SE disappointments, especially after how stellar the italian translation for the first Dissidia was (every game terminology was translated as it was in the original translations, so FF I to VI had their own terminology faithful to the GBA/DS translations, VIII had it's own terminology faithful to the PS1 translation and so on. A massive undertaking but the nostalia effect was off the chart for me). 012 on the other hand felt like a poorly fansubbed anime with the way the "translated" the story
A dark period for SE where they thought they could cut down on budgets and still have their thristy fanbase slurp it all up. I refused to buy DDD after it came out they would skimp on translations and I never looked back. I should be thankful to SE for opening my eyes and making me realize not only how important cusyomer standards should be, but also how much power customers can have since SE reversed course for future releases (well, unless you're SaGa, or Mana)

The Uncharted trilogy isn't happening imo.
They would've released it already.
It's obvious at this point that they're only porting from PS4 onwards.
Besides, UC1 looks very dated even in the remaster, the character models just don't hold up. I doubt they'd release it as it is.

I agree that a Team Ico collection would do well on steam. None of those games have been on PC before, a package with all 3 would be incredibly appealing.

I did not follow Star Wars Outlaw marketing and just watched the gameplay trailer from last month. Damn that looks beautiful. Ubisoft should be critised for various reasons (rightfully so), but their art team is just top-notch. So detailed yet very pleasant to look at.

Ubisoft is AAA junk food.

The only thing you can give them credit for is that they are able to outwork all the other big 3rd party pubs.

Their output is still strong this gen while Take-Two, EA, Activision have been putting out GaaS trash for the most part. Everyone is doubling down on all the predatory bs full of microtransactions and battle passes. Ubisoft at least has the decency to still make some big and small singleplayer focused games.

Their pricing is atrocious tho and some of these editions for their games are nearing 150$ soon.

Ubi games would get a better reception if their characters and stories didn't feel AI generated even before AI existed. How do I know this? Look at ghost of tsushima's reception or even the horizon games (although I feel like the characters are just as bland as an ubi game). The gameplay in ubi games feels like it's getting worse in every game too, like the combat in nu-AC feels absurdly jank and unsatisfying for a multi billion dollar company. The shooting in star wars looks unbelievably bad too and it's from a studio that did a really good job with TPS gameplay in a previous game so that one makes no sense at all.

Basically their games are the art team doing 90% of the lifting while everything else either gets worse or stays at the same low quality level they have been since the ps3 days.

Horizons and ghost of tsushimas characters are as bland as toast.

We all know why those series aren't as hard done by as Ubisoft games are.
I always enjoy playing Ubisoft games. :face-savouring-delicious-food: Yeah there are better games out there, but these palate cleanser are not bad either.

Because they're better games. I don't like horizon either but I can admit it's better in nearly every way than every ubi open world I've played, it even does art style/graphics better which renders the one thing ubi games do well obsolete. When it comes to combat there's no comparison, ghost and horizon feel like AAA games while ubi games' combat feels like they got piranha bytes to do it. I can't think of any other AAA game that feels worse to fight things in than ubi games, not even jedi survivor.

I don't agree. Ghost has style sure but Horizon literally feels like Ubisoft through and through. If I didn't know the publisher I'd have guessed Ubisoft.

I'll never understand it's popularity.

For me Horizon's praise always baffled me. It is the very definition of Ubisoft open world bland, except I usually like the characters more in Assassins Creed games. It's got a decent SF story line, but all the best bits are delivered in expo-dumps. Only real redeeming feature was Lance Reddick.

For something more positive. Been playing Prince of Persia and got to say, really loving it. It plays as a good to great Metroidvania. Plenty of tools to tweak the settings to how you want to play (I have toned down the parry mechanic to almost non-existant). Also love that you can minimise down the markers on the map so you are forced to explore. But all of it can be exchanged on the fly. Been a lot of fun so far. So much so that I haven't had a chance to try Gestalt out yet.

Correct. The price of a PS5 here is about half a month on minimum wage. That's an insane proposition to a lot of people.

It's the Sony Playstation logo that appears whenever one boots up the game. That explains the discrepancy. People will sing praises and endlessly defend any game which has that logo at the start. It's just that simple.
Release horizon the exact same as it is now but with Ubisoft and people would shit all over it. Ghost of Tsushima too. It's painfully transparent.

A good thing of the more multiplatform centric generation is how games are starting to get judged with less fanboy glasses
For example the Horizon games are good, but as years pass (years post Zero Dawn on Steam specifically) the fanboy excitement is no longer as massive as it was. Remember the biggest fanboys were convinced the PC port of ZD was made specifically to get pc users "addicted" to Horizon so they would buy a PS5 en masse. They really believed the people who thought the game was nothing special were Xbox/Nintendo/PC users salty about missing such a masterpiece ready to be enlighted as soon as they tried it on their favored platforms
Man delusions can be scary

If it had an ubisoft logo it'd be 10x buggier and the combat would feel 3 gens old.

You guys keep parroting the sony thing but you don't understand the differences between the games even if they're on the more subtle side. Everything about ubi games feels shoddy when you consider they have 11 studios and 1000 people working on them. They shouldn't feel like eastern european jank rpgs when it comes to combat and seeing missing or half finished animations everywhere. The facial animations in star wars are horrendous too (something horizon 1 did get flak for back in 2017 as already being dated back then never mind now) and that's another recurring issue in ubisoft games.
