Finished Frostpunk 2's story.

This was was worse than the first game.
The city building was really shallow and less interesting.
It was all really, really straightforward and then it just ended.

The only decisions i felt i had to make were which faction i wanted to side with, like a shallow RPG.,
Never did i feel like i had to stockpile for a hard winter, or manage other emergencies and ressources.

Even the interface is vastly worse somehow.

It's funny how the big marketing for this Intel CPU gen was "they are super efficient now" and while, sure, there are impressive year-by-year improvements in terms of efficiency here, it basically just means "we are competitive with AMD CPUs from 5 years ago".

At this rate, I am not sure how long Intel will stick around as a CPU manufacturer. I could see them just splitting the business into a chip foundry (like TSMC) and a fabless CPU vendor, with the latter just being there to be bought by a bigger company like ARM or Qualcom.

To people who may have interested in trying out Girls' Frontline 2, closed beta registration is now open.
Don't pull me back into GFL when i literally spent TENS of thousands on GFL1. :surrenderblob:
I must stay strong against the gacha.

This is so sad to hear. I started FP1 on Steam deck yesterday and loved it quite a lot instantly in just my first run. I was looking forward to playing FP2 someday. D:

"That's the first appallingly poor decision I've seen Epic take in a very long while. "

Gee, that guy must have missed everything EGS related 😂
He is the guy that made Ghost of Tale - great little game that I can recommend :)
Him being an indie dev using Unreal, I'm guessing he doesn't see Epic from a customer viewpoint much.

Yea the first game is amazing, loved it back then and replayed it before Metaphor came out.
A really unique Survival-City builder with a cool setting.

You definitely should spend your money on the dlcs for that instead of FP2.

But also City builders on the deck?

I've been mostly stuck in bed with the flu. 🤒

The text is small on deck, but otherwise it's ok. Plenty of community made controller layouts to make it make sense.

Man the new PC DLC is fly.

Essentially more of the same but you get a whole new planet w/ colorful bioms a a bit of new tech for a great price.

Speaking of, I FOMO nabbed Timberborn as the price is going to essentially double in a couple hours. Up to $35 USD and the current sale + various bundle discounts on the Store page have it at $18 for the next short while.

I'm so weak, lol.

I love Timberborn but every time I play it, I get so far and just get overwhelmed by what I am suppoosed to be doing.

I bought myself a Meta Quest 3S last week and I'm liking it so far. I got several games for it already. The one thing that I am not liking is the Quest Store for games. I bought a few games this last week that are now on sale during the Halloween event and I can't even see the price of the item since I own it. So I had to ask others on Era and refund games in order to see the prices. Dumb design decision.

Also, both Airlink and Steam Link to play PCVR seems to not be really great so far. Both discounts when playing wireless.

The pre-rendered models of GFL2 look so good.

I must stay strong against the gacha.
GFL2 is going to be worse in monetisation because of character and weaponry gacha. :disappointed-face: Meanwhile, skins are direct payment. No more gacha.

I really hate the business model. Fortunately when I was playing Heaven Burns Red lately I have no urge to pay for anything, because when I look at the price my mind speaks out now "hey you can buy multiple games on steam or have a good meal with that amount of money". These comparisons definitely help me avoid spending in these gacha games.

Full price or did you snag some cheaper key somewhere?
I want to have both games on PC but 50 euros for 14 year old game just goes against my principles of not getting butt reamed.
This is one of those situations where you should do as i say and not as i do XD Price really is too much but I got it for full price because both RDR games are one of my favorite games ever released and in general i will complain about R* a lot because of their treatment of PC platform but in reality they make games that i like to play and they release them so rarely these days that i will be there day 1.

Eh, I read it's their most ambitious remaster bringing the game from ps2 era to ps3 era but to me it looks like I remember it on PC. I'm sure it's got upgrades, likely a lot of the textures and stuff (the monsters have shiny pixel shaders now, that's an improvement I suppose) but it doesn't look transformative overall or anything, it already had some really nice visuals and effects with fog, lights, shadows, low visibility outdoors... I suppose it needs more updates in terms of gameplay (it's clunkier and more shallow than folks give it credit for) so maybe they've done that but after Shadowman's remaster I have my doubts...

Check out many upcoming JP indies before this banner disappears.
It's unfortunate how indies outside Japan have mastered the anime game/Japanese game look.
Because they really look same-y and amatuer-ish. I'm sure there is one somewhere that has unique stuff that's worthwhile.

the bigger question is if Nightdive actually fixed the core mechanics the game should have had, like checking for infection. That would require redesigning large parts of the game, allowing the player to anticipate certain plot beats or maybe even make them fully dynamic, where your characters could get taken over by "the Thing" at certain points.

Are all the CODS games on gamepass? I don't like sub services, but it might be neat to play through all the compaigns that way. I normally want to "own" games that I play, but Activision is completely insane about the pricing of old COD games, and there's way too many of them anyway.

EDIT:
Just checked, and it's only BLOPS6 and MW, so kinda uninteresting.

Didn't post a lost for the past two months. Mix of relatively severe depression and lack of interest in games.
I mean, I still buy games, I have my Steam Gamer Club card, but every game I try is shit, or doesn't appeal.

So yeah, Snowrunner is nice, not great, but at the end of the day I'm not looking for a full time job. I also am not in the mood for Bloomtown and its indie persona vibes, too limited. And don't start me on Norland. It was my first 'potato' sim but I genuinely hope its not representative of the genre. Far too much waiting, and when you have to play it's micro management hell.
Oh and Hollowbody, by the guy who made Chasing Static, is not even half the game CS was. Bite more than he could chew by a mile, bad writing, I genuinely finished it because I was already 20 minutes past the refund period.

That being said I tried Dead Cells for the third time and it may have finally clicked.

I'm thinking about maybe buying more 'PC as fuck' indies, they play great on Deck. Any advice ?
I'm looking at Legend of Keepers, Balatro, Rogue PoP, Curse of the Dead Gods, even that revolting (to me) Isaac that must be an ideal fit for Deck.

But nobody will read this shit ton of texts. Sorry.
